It’s dog gone hot here. . . thank goodness for air conditioning!
We’re definitely in the Dog Days of summer. . .
“Dog Days” are the hottest, most sultry days of summer. In the northern hemisphere, they usually fall between early July and early September.
Dog Days can also define a time period or event that is very hot or stagnant or marked by a lack of progress.
We’re feeling pretty lethargic lately with 90+ degree temps 28 days out of 30 and the heat index in the triple digits. Our big plans involve staying inside and a nap this weekend. ;)
Hope you’re finding a way to escape the heat and surviving the Dog Days!
Oh my gosh, that last photo with those pleading eyes is PRICELESS!!! Your poochies certainly provide you with entertainment, companionship & endless photo opportunities. Please give them a pat on the head from Nana Rett?
My DD had two black schnauzers that were brother & sister…together from birth. The male dog passed away recently & the little female was just so lost without her brother. It was very sad to watch! I hope both of yours live a long, long time!!! You & the Captain, too!!
Oh goodness, they do look depressed!! It does seem extra hot this summer, at least on the coast the breeze comes up in the afternoon and the shady porch is bearable…I’m thinking we’ll all be extra excited about fall this year!

What I wouldn’t give for air conditioning… When I went to college in Santa Barbara (25 year ago), air conditioning wasn’t needed. Heck! I didn’t even own a fan. Now, the climate has changed here and there are scorching hot days much too frequently. I just try to relax, drink copious amounts of Diet Coke, and try to get through until late fall.

Oh, my goodness! Melt my heart! I do not envy you the heat and humidity. New England is blessed with heat and humidity on a few days, but we also have a long string a 75 and breezy days. My favorite. The dogs could give lessons on dealing with heat. Blessings!
Mary, Chloe and Gracie must think you put that beautiful chair and throw in your house just to provide the perfect snoozing spot for them! We’ve been pretty lucky so far with the weather but I think naps are always a good idea! Linda
Just love those pictures of your precious girls Chloe and Gracie. I needed something like this to cheer me up. Just found out my husband has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. This summer hasn’t been a good one.
Love,love,love those girls💞
My bichon is also staying inside, and sleeping a lot. Too hot! Doesn’t like the pool so he doesn’t go in to cool of!🙄 Have a great weekend!😎🌴
Just PRECIOUS.
Sweet babies.
We know EXACTLY how you two feel!! 100% humidity will make you lethargic!! More like a wet blanket!!! Yay AIR CONDITIONING!!! 🌞🌤☀️😱

Chloe and Gracie always make me smile, Mary. I’m so glad that they’re enjoying the A/C as much as I am! Happy weekend to you!

I agree with the pups and staying inside too. Adorable pictures
You know what I say about August Mary… Bring on September! Stay cool and have a nice weekend:@)
The girls look doggone lethargic, but as cute as always. Give them a pat from me.
I am in total agreement with the girls. It’s been above average for us for 6 weeks and no rain! It’s cloudy today…cross your fingers!
Mary ~
Those two pups always make me giggle they are so darn cute !! Maybe an ice cream cone would cool them down :)

Hi Linda, They think our bed was placed for their snoozing pleasure too :)
