With Halloween three weeks away, the countdown to the witching hour has begun! Time to have a little scary fun at the table!
A witch hat provides a centerpiece for the table . . .
It’s perched on top of a chiller/ urn for our spooky cocktails or brew. . .Grave Hill Cellars Witches & Warlocks, Cauldron Brewed Bubbled and Boiled, Established 1666.
Instead of buying a new hat, I pulled out my hat from last year and decided it could use a spell or two to dress up it as a centerpiece for the table!
I added a feather boa, glittery spiders and a pair ravens to perch on the brim of the hat. Spider ribbon is tied on some mini pumpkins stems. To support the weight of the pumpkins, I placed the hat on a round cake board on top of the urn.
This witch likes her hat fully loaded!
A witchy spider web was spun for our potion’s tablecloth and foundation for apothecary plates.
Hallow Apothecary plates were at HomeGoods, a favorite haunt and short broom ride away.
The plate stack starts with a spidery web black straw mat, topped with a square Pfaltzgraff Country Cupboard plate. A square Mikasa Swirl dinner plate placed on the diagonal provides a black accent layer for the apothecary plates.

SPOOKTACULAR!!! You are very lucky to find all those wonderful items…I was at our Homegiids store on Friday and they had nothing similar..we live too far away to get there very often..I’m sure all the goodies are grabbed up as soon as they come in…that said..the table is wonderful…I particularly like the napkins and napkin rings…so original…can’t wait to see what’s next???? 🎃🕷🕸🎃🕷🕸
Nice decorations🎃🕷
I am bewitched by this wickedly divine collection for the perfect witching hour party! Your centerpiece is awesome, and love that you reused last year’s hat with spooktacular additions. I absolutely adore the flatware. The skeletal hands with the Baby Boo pumpkins and cupcakes- too cute!! HomeGoods and Target are holiday heaven. Thank-you for another delightful post and your lovely photos.
Great concoction of hallowed goods, Mary! Seriously, you have really assembled everything so creatively. That plate stack and the napkins rings are my favorites here. And with seeing the source list, my logical question is where you store all your stuff. I just searched your blog to see, and it took me back to a post in 2012 – lol, who would’ve ever guessed?? If you’ve done an update to that, I would love to see it. It all looks so well organized – and VISIBLE! Mine is all over the places – closets, credenzas, cabinets – and I’m about to have a serious talk with myself on how to better organize it this winter. Have a great week.
Bootiful, Bootiful!!….You never cease to amaze me with your magnificent displays of horror and delight! Who knew that spooky could be so beautiful!
Enjoyed looking at these Halloween treats and ideas. My Granddaughter is coming today so we may make a few of these. I’m like you I buy things from everywhere and keep in a tub just for decorating and Its so much fun to pull these items out after a year and see what we have.
Over the top! or should I say Hat?
Wow, wow, wow. . . . .yes, again, I even had to show my husband the absolutely delightful setting. I have just visited Williams Sonoma & you do a tablescape enchantment better than all the stores in that category. . .Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel. You have more fun than those that are employed. . . . but that is just my guess.
Your spruced up witch’s hat looks right at home on your fun table, Mary. Oh, how I love those skeleton claws holding the baby boos and the cupcakes. It looks like you’re ready for the bewitching hour.
Wow! Your talent never ceases to amaze me! I get so excited when I see your e-mails in my In Box – I can’t wait to open them and see what new beautiful surprise is waiting for me. I live in West Virginia, but we have family in Huntersville, NC and travel through Lake Norman several times during the year. I have only been receiving your e-mails for about three months, but the next time I pass through Lake Norman (which will probably be in December) I will think of you and wonder what beautiful table scape you are working on and try to imagine how beautiful your home is at Christmastime! Happy Monday to you. Have a great week and thanks for all the wonderful ideas and happiness you bring to my humble abode in West Virginia.
P.S. My mother just moved in with my family and I and she has a little Bichon named Casper. He brings so much joy to our house and I love his “smile” when I come home after a long day at work. I’m sure when your two babies smile, it melts your heart as well. Take care.

Mary, this is absolutely precious! You are so talented and have thought of every wonderful detail! I look so forward to your tablescapes each week! Have a happy and blessed day!!!
Wow! How fun! I love all of the amazing details! Thank you for the Hallowe’en inspiration!
Mary, this is all fun for me. The cupcake toppers are some of the cutest I’ve seen, and thinking out of box last season when you found the spider cuffs on sale was very, very clever. I so admire your talent of putting together all the right details to present a one of a kind tablescape. Your mind must always be in creative mode to spot these items and then bring them together in such a unique way. I always want to sprout wings and fly in for a visit at your tables. Perhaps one of your witches would send her broom to pick me up. ;-)
You have the best time during the holidays! Always a joy!
Well done – creepy AND cute – just love your perfect Halloween tablescape! : – )
You had too much fun! I was in GoodWill, and they had the largest snifter vase I have every seen. All I could think was if you filled it with eyeballs…it would be fabulous, but it had to be 18-20″ across. And where they heck are you going to keep that, the rest of the year. Such fun….hoping to do some Halloween, next weekend. Thanks, Sandi
I haven’t seen one blogger who sets a table as well as you do. Others are fine, but you take yours to another level!
Bewitching Mary! I love your sparkly spiders and all the spider webs! Your hat makes a great centerpiece paired with the cauldron from 1666, I’m sure you’ll be serving up a wicked stew- I would love to help myself to a cupcake offered up by those creepy hands, but you can keep the spider fluids and eyes of frog…I don’t need any wolf claw powder but the snake’s tongue brew for muscle spasms might come in very handy!

So awesome! I never thought about using a bracelet that way! So creative! I love those glasses and the hands!

Mary, you have covered every spooky detail! You are so creative, and this is such a fun post! Pam @ Everyday Living
Like all your table settings but Halloween is the best!
I must know where to find the lab tube sprinkles!
They’re Wilton’s Halloween Sprinkles Labs and I applied the labels. I found the labels at World Market several years ago :)
I thought so, you are so clever!
Love the new plates but my favorite is still the skeleton hands from Target. I keep looking for them but no luck so far. They are so versatile I’m surprised they are not still on the market. Great job as always. The hat is fabulous too!!
You’ve added such great detail, I absolutely love it! I know you found those dishes at HG years ago, but I am going to have to haunt their aisles for some. They are all stunning and simply perfect!
As always, such attention to detail and so creative. Great tablecloth and plates plus all the cute Halloween touches.
Wow Mary, such an awesome Halloween table. The centerpiece is spectacular. So many wonderful details for this fun Halloween table. Loving the plates as well as the creepy hands. Thank you for joining us for the halloween Tablescape Link Party.
There is so much eye candy here and I love every bit of it! That is some witch’s hat and you did an amazing job with this table.
My skull is screaming with delight at such a fun table! I LOVE the apothecary plates and your wine glasses.
I love all of your table decorations. Thanks for partying with us. Sheila@mykentuckyliving
So much spoooooky fun! I love every single component…hope it was as as much fun for you to put it all together as it was for me to see!
How fun is this! Love how you decorated the witches hat. Those skeletal hands are so neat but I love the apothecary plates the most! The stemware is beautiful!
As usual, I am always in awe with what you come up with every year for all the various holidays! Your apothecary table is boo-tiful.
Oh you witchy woman! Tee hee, loving it all! Those plates are just fabuloso!!! I have the same centerpiece and clawed hands – must have come from the same witch convention! Always a pleasure to fly in on my broomstick to visit and see your wonderful creativity! You are too, too fun!
Hi! I’m new to your blog but already a fan :) I love a good Halloween table and you certainly deliver. Truly Spooktacular! Enjoy the season & thanks for sharing all your creative ideas!
Mary, I’m such a big fan of all your posts, but your Halloween posts set my heart a-flutter! They are most excellent!!
Can you tell me the size of the plates you used? I have 8 inch hallow apothecary, and would like to try this for my family table.
Hi, the 8” apothecary salad plates are stacked on 11” plates, the black plate is turned on the diagonal. 🍽🎃👻
Damn girl, your talents are amazing and seemingly endless because you come up with different (classy) displays every time. Shake my head but with a smile on my face! Usually end the viewing with “WOW”.
