Happy Thanksgiving and Turkey Plate Wreath

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hung a wreath in welcome to greet family for Thanksgiving, adding a turkey plate to the center of a fall wreathĀ for a quick and easy embellishment!

dsc_1848-002

Here is the before of my DIY Welcome Fall Wreath, that made the transitionĀ from discount to designer, with the addition of natural elements.

I like to enjoy my turkey plates beyond the table! My proud Tom turkey plate (Victorian English Pottery Turkey by Edward Challinor) is ready to greet family members for Thanksgiving! I found the plate at HomeGoods and you can see them at my Thanksgiving tableĀ here.

Here’s a view from the back:

I added a hanger to the plate and used a plain metal shower curtain ring to attach to the plate holder and to hang over the wreath hanger. The shower curtain ring clips closed so it’s a safe and secure to hold the plate.

I attached some clear adhesive bumpers to the back of the plate, to prevent it from banging against the door and to protect the plate as the door opens and closes. The bumpers absorb vibration and are removable.Ā  I found the bumpers at Walmart but cork or felt disks/ pads that go on the bottom of furniture legsĀ  to protect your floors would work too.

Beautiful and clever wreath, Mary. No cooking for me, either, as my home is still under reconstruction from the “Great Flood of 2016” here in S. Louisiana. Still looking forward to being with family…..enjoy your day on that lovely lake…

I follow 2 blogs, yours and Naps on the porch. When I say follow, I mean steal! I always find great ideas! We celebrated Thanksgiving with the kids last weekend in the mountains up at the lake and I could not wait til it was over to announce we are going to do a fishing tree for Christmas! We found so many things to put on it. I collect all these things and display them above my double doors so what a great idea! I have a new appreciation for our pontoon and now have pillows and blankets to go with it. The recipes are great as well and I am a true gardener and envy your potting shed. You have such incredible ideas and I bet I try half of them!!! When I saw the wreath today I thought I just had to write and let you know how much I love your Blog. Thank you for making my day!

    • November 24, 2016 at 8:08 pm

Thanks your sweet comment Debbie and Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy decorating your tree :)
