I can’t resist picking up a pair blooming with flowers. . .
Or with a pretty garden green pattern. . .
Or with birds.
I have a hard time using them when they’re pristine and new. . .
When the gloves I use look like this. ;)
We’ve had a mild winter overall, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s recently that have my thoughts turning to spring.
My Potting Shed provides a place to putter and play inside and when I need a little flower therapy, so I gathered my blooming tole trays and transferware . . .
A bunch of $4 spray roses from the grocery store at a little past their peak. . .
But pretty in a shabby, time-worn way like the transferware.
A favorite stamped spoon marker is a garden metaphor for life. . .
I’ll be in touch with you all by email and get your books shipped to you!
Thank you to Erika Kokite for including my Potting Shed in her book and to Cool Springs Press/Quarto Publishing for providing me with these books to giveaway! She Sheds: A Room of Your Own is available at Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, andIndie Bound.
Thanks to all who entered!

Congrats to all of the winners….they are going to love the book!….I love your collection of garden gloves. I seem to have a favorite pair and when one wears out I always have a spare on “hand” … :) As always a most gorgeous display of your garden collections…and I love that quote!!! Have a great weekend…it will be cold here after some very mild temps and I noticed a small hydrangea bush of mine with buds!….ugh! I noticed that the warm spell caused a few red buds in the neighborhood to bloom!
Love the garden gloves. They sure have come a long way in design and patterns over the years. I agree with you in that they just seem too pretty to get dirty!!!
Have an awesome weekend. We here in the Atlanta area are all excited about our Atlanta Falcons’ upcoming Superbowl game on Sunday. Rise Up!!!
Congratulations to all that won!👏 Mary, you gave me a great idea for a birthday gift for my daughter. Garden gloves! She has a beautiful garden and really enjoys gardening. I didn’t realize there was so many pretty ones! Thanks! Happy Supper Bowl weekend! Go Patriots!🏈🏈😎🌴
I also have a thing for garden gloves but mine all seem to look like your used ones.
My husband built me my own shed which we call a garden house with window boxes and a big flower garden all around. Love your ideas for it. Thank you. Abbie
Congratulations to the winners. They will sell a lot of books because of you. Your post today is welcome sunshine seeing your tole collection and transferware with flowers lifts the spirits.
Congrats to the winners! I hope each of them gets to own a “She Shed” someday.
Your pretty gloves, blooms & plates are just so beautifully displayed, Mary. Who else but you would think to tuck a rose & a bud into an UPSIDE down clay pot!!!
I’m in charge of my quilt guild’s indoor picnic again this year & I was thinking of using a garden theme. Perhaps we can afford to give everyone a pair of pretty gardening gloves. We use the rubber tiped ones for quilting!
Hurry Up Spring!!
Love all your gloves, especially the ones with the bird embroidery. Also your collection vignette is beautiful too. This makes me want Spring to hurry and arrive.
Thank you, Thank you! Today is my lucky day as a winner of the She Shed book, I can’t wait! I never win anything. Love your glove collection posting today – clearly I need new ones, mine are too boring. Mary, your blog is always a bright spot in my day.
I so want a “she shed”. We desperately need a regular shed built, as our Amish made shed has seen some better days, but luckily still standing.
I will consider once able to get new shed also a she shed.
Love yours. Always puts you In the seasonal mood.
I just ordered the book from Amazon.
Go Falcons, from Maryland.
Oh forgot to say, Milk & Honey has the engraved spoons. You can even send them a saying you want put on.
I ordered some for Xmas gifts. Turned out great!
Oh my goodness! Only you could come up with such an adorable post with garden gloves. I love the way your brain works! I also am a fan of painted tole trays. Here’s to hoping for an early Spring!
Congratulations to the winners. It’s a delightful book that all garden enthusiasts would enjoy. It’s so gray and bleak here I can’t get motivated to get out in the garden this morning, though it needs me. Perhaps a little later if it warms a bit. Love you garden gloves. Mine are all in use, so it is refreshing to see the pristine ones. My favorites are the Laura Ashley pair and the leather ones with the green bird. Love the spoons with a message. I meant to order some as favors for my next dinner party, but forgot again, and my party is the 13th. Oh, well, there will be a next time. ‘-)
Thanks for the morning inspiration, Mary. Always love a visit to the Potting Shed.
It is freezing here: literally, 32 degrees right now:( This weekend is going to be very cold but my thoughts are on Spring too. Love your collection of gardening gloves, especially the ones with the bird! That quote is perfect too. Have a beautiful weekend, Mary!
I am beyond thrilled – thank you for this opportunity – and thank you to the Editors at Cool Springs Press/Quarto Publishing for picking me as the lucky winner. I daresay that you all may have never found a more appreciative recipient. Dreaming of my very own She-Shed as I type this note of thanks to all involved! : – )
I am very happy to win a copy of the book. It will help me get through what is still left of our Michigan winter. Our temperarture started out at 10 degrees this morning, and we won’t see flowers until May. A cup of tea, a beautiful book and maybe a chocolate or two will serve me well while winter lingers. Thank you.
Hooray for the winners, Mary!
Your potting shed looks so pretty decked out with tole, pretty gardening gloves, and posies. I especially love that little bunny with his nose in the air. Happy weekend to you!

My first thought was these are too cute to actually use!! I love them hanging about, you need a garden glove tree! I saw a T-shirt the other day that said “all I want to do is garden and drink wine,” and I thought of you Mary :) Love the vintage looking pink roses in the beautiful pots. Congrats to the lucky winners!
Your creative ideas just make my day every time. What a great idea-garden gloves :) Happy for all your winners. I did not get the gardening gene, but if any one ever gives away a little green house I will be signed up for it in a heartbeat. Love a pretty bistro set, chandelier, candles, and many fairy lights with the tomato plants in a green house.
Love the gloves..where did your get the pair with the bird and the others..I have the Vera and Laura Ashley but want the others you show… also the floral clothespins ?
Hi Tracy, The gloves with the bird came from Target about 5 years ago. The floral clothespins were made with scrapbook tape, you can find it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby :)
Oh, how did I miss all of this wonderful news and beauty?! Congratulations, my dear! Flower therapy is sorely needed after 1.5 months of Wurthering Heights gloom. It’s 28 degrees and falling (though the temp is supposed to pop back up by noon tomorrow). I love your garden of gloves. And I can sure identify with the older gloves. I am off to order the book! xxoo
Mary, I enjoyed dreaming about every shed in the book, but of course yours is still my very favorite as I watched her “grow up” and also because she is filled with so many goodies like transferware and tole and even pretty gloves! I have a stack of gloves too, varying in condition from too dirty to wear to pristine and awaiting this Spring which, after the 10 degree weather of yesterday, I doubt will ever arrive! My new early bulbs have all popped and the leaves have appeared, but the blossoms have not opened yet, and I’m hoping they will survive this crazy weather. I’m looking forward to seeing how your new shed area plantings will be blooming this year! Linda

Love the display, is that a tole painted watering can holding the roses ?
No, it’s a cachepot. I would love to find a tole watering can though :)
Love everything about your garden shed! Can you share where the spoons came from?
Hi Diane, I found them on Etsy, I can’t remember the shop, just do a search for “stamped spoon markers” :)
Such cute gloves; the Laura Ashley ones are my favorite! Congrats to your winners. I bet yours is the cutest she shed in the book!
xo,
RJ
