Dog Whispering and National Love Your Pet Day

dsc_3543-1

February 20th is National Love Your Pet Day and the unofficial holiday set aside to pamper your pets.

dsc_3418-1

Of course if you’re a pet owner, everyday is Love Your Pet Day!

dsc_3463-1

Approximately 39% of US households own at least one dog and 33% own at least one cat. Pets can actually help decrease your blood pressure and stress.

Chloe and Grace had a play date with their cousins, Maddie and Zoe.

My dog whispering talents are nil when it comes to getting four dogs to pose for the camera. . .

But a good time was had by all, whether it was a picture perfect day or not. ;)

Having a Zoe and a Chloe makes things confusing at times ;)

Cheerios provide easy treats for posing for the camera. . .

Along with a few treats, there’s nothing better than a little warm February sunshine. . .

And a nap on the porch.

Posing for the camera is exhausting work and so is dog whispering. ;)

    Mary,
Love, love, love the pictures. You have the patience of Job to be able to photograph 4 dogs. I have trouble with 2.
I have always been a bichon lover.

What a wonderful way to start a Monday! As I write, my rescue pups Rosie, a dachshund, and Buddy, a Bagel (Bassett/Beagle) are on my lap while the 2 kitties are busy watching the bird feeder. Life would be so boring without their love and companionship. I love this Bible verse…a righteous man cares for the needs of his animals, Proverbs 12:10

Love seeing your precious fur babies! Just So cute!

I want to hug them, they are all so precious! Thank you for the “treat” recipes; our Buddy (black Cocker Spaniel , Black Lab mix) thanks you too. I love that Bible verse Roxanne mentioned – how appropriate. Hugs to all!!

Total cheer for my Monday morning. Sadie would love to join in for the tasty treats, but she definitely isn’t cooperative when it comes to taking photos.
Happy Love Your Pet Day ~ every day!

Just to see your cute baby’s start’s my day on the sunny side. So cute.

  16. February 20, 2017 at 10:17 am

So cute Mary, and I think you did a stellar job of getting them to pose! I was wishing I had a pooch this weekend to gobble up all the split Cheerios from the “crumb droppers” So cute that Chloe and Gracie can play with their cousins and wear matching sweaters :)

  17. February 20, 2017 at 10:37 am

Oh, what fun, Mary…I instantly smiled when the first photo appeared!! They are ADORABLE little playmates & I love their matching sweaters!!
I’m sending a link of this post to my sister, who has a very similar pooch. She will love it!!

Pat each one of yours on the head for me, please?

Such sweet little faces…I love starting my day with a visit to your doggies. Thank you for the hours you must spend to get them all to pose. Honestly, I love the unposed pictures just as much.

  22. February 20, 2017 at 1:22 pm

Oh my gosh, they are all so beautiful and well behaved, but the single photo of Maddie is a winner. What a kissable face. Love her expression.
Giving dogs bottled water will prevent the brown stains on their fur.
Still not receiving all of the emails sent out.
Thanks for cheering everyone up today.

Thought you did wonderfully with taking the photos. AND THAT PICTURE OF MADDIE is to die for. She looks like a little human being with an adorable, sweet smile. You should enter that picture is some kinda contest.

I knew you had Gracie & Chloe but, didn’t know about the other two. Darling! But, that’s a lot of dog grooming $$$$ as I know Elle always needs a trip to the beauty shop & she is my first that needed monthly grooming.

  26. February 20, 2017 at 2:39 pm

I laughed looking at these. So cute. I have taken photos from my friend who had a border collie mix several times. Well, the photos crap box—was full of blurs, and him charging the camera, or hiding, or simply sitting with his back to me. Eventhough I was his second favorite person. I love you showed us all of these, I wonder how many are in the ‘blur’ box. Fun, thanks, Sandi

The pups are just so precious!

  34. February 21, 2017 at 1:29 am

Your fur children are precious. Dogs are my life. I have been doing death row dog rescue work for well over 40 years now. Saving one dog at a time and finding them forever homes. Recently I bought a tiny farmhouse sight unseen in the Appalachian mountains.and had to downsize my life and rescue efforts. But, prior to that i owned a large home with an indoor swimming pool just for the dogs in my life. I used to have up to a dozen dogs on any given day, half of them waiting to be adopted.. Now my pack consists of only four dogs that will be with me to the end. But I yearn for the day when all dogs will have a home and not be euthanized because irresponsible people do not spay and neuter their dogs.

The bible says – Blessed is the man that cares well for his beast. Thanks for this sweet post.

I “awwwwed” throughout your post. Gosh, these pics are just so adorable. They should have their own calendar! If these pics don’t put a smile on your face, then nothing will!!! Love, Love, Love!!!

Fur babies are the best…and your babies are the cutest!….This day a bit bittersweet as we lost our precious and sweet granddog a couple weeks ago…Thanks for making us smile today when we see those adorable ladies!
