Happy Monday, I hope you had a good weekend! We enjoyed a little boating timeand I worked on some gardening chores. Mother Nature gave us a thorough soaking late yesterday and last night and more rain is in the forecast this week.
I’m happy to have a reprieve from lugging around the hose to keep everything watered!
My BFF shared some beautiful roses from her garden with me. . .she’s generous like that! 💐 🌷🌹 I had a little fun with flowers and my small collection of tole for a blooming vignette on shelf in the Potting Shed, framed with my new chippy green shutters.
I filled some mason jars with the roses to enjoy as Ball Jar bouquets and cut a few fern stems to add some green and for a little contrasting texture.
I filled a tole painted cachepot with flowers. The vintage metal is no longer is watertight, so placed a jar inside to keep the roses hydrated.
I *heart* vintage scales and a pair of black scales work as bookends on my shelf.
The roses are displayed so beautifully! Really love the vintage gardening tools on your chippy shutters. Those vintage scales remind me of the ones my Gram had on the sun porch of her Pa. farmhouse. They were used to weigh the fresh produce from her gardens for the “city” customers. Ah, the fond memories of my childhood! Thank-you for sharing your treasures in your always fantastic photos.
Beautiful roses and tole trays all displayed perfectly on your shelf! I am so thankful for the rain on my garden and we are expecting more this week! Happy Monday!
I also have a small collection of tole, but am coveting your tole painted watering can. I am going to be on the look-out for a suitable one to try to paint myself! One of my trays was painted by my great uncle who never took any lessons, so if he could do it, I am sure I could as well.
Ooh Mary, I love your tole collection and your bookend antique scales. You were the inspiration in me finding the one antique scale that I have. Your BFF was so generous in sharing the pretty roses to adorn your mason jars. I’m always happy with rain, too, Mary! Enjoy your week, sweet friend! xx
Oh, the roses are gorgeous and look so lovely surrounded by your toleware collections. You have the perfect place to do creative vignettes that you do so well. I like your new chippy green shutters.
Happy for you to receive rain. We also received rain and more is forecast.
Flowers are meant to be shared! You BFF is generous! My nextdoor neighbor is generous with letting me cut her magnolia blooms to bring into our home. They smell so delightful!
I love the tole collection. I had a small collection of trays some years ago, but didn’t really have a good spot to display them. A young friend wanted to be a collection, so I gave her a start with my my small group. It’s fun to see her using them in her dining room. Love the watering can!
We enjoyed a wonderful rain last night. Today it is in the 60s and may last all week. What a delightful spring we are having this year.
Enjoy the beauty and fragrance of those roses!
I love your display of the roses and the tole trays and the watering can. I have a similar watering can, but mine has a green background. I love it, because it was my Nana. Love your BFF, she’s really generous with her roses, which is how we should share our flowers, isn’t it. Because of the wet weather and a knee injury, I haven’t been able to work in the garden so far this spring, and it’s making me crazy. Keep up the good work..
Love the roses and your chippy new shutters! I’ve been looking for chippy shutters because there is so much you can do with them. Love the look of yours!
The tole pieces look fabulous surrounded by bright fresh blooms! Talk about a happy place, Mary this is truly it! Lucky you having a BFF with a rose garden, I swear flowers and birds just seem to flock to you!

Everything is beautiful. You inspired me and a couple of years ago I started to pick up a few tole trays when I see them. I have some old garden tools and green chippy shutters, but have never been able to create a vignettes like you. So pretty Mary!

We are getting a lot of rain, today has been very wet with more thunderstorms coming tonight. Like you said, it gives us a rest from watering everyday and everything is so lush and green so a day or 2 of rain is worth it to me. Your display is beautiful! Love the tole items are beautiful! Hope you have a fun, sunny and enjoyable weekend!!! Boating would be my choice for sure:)
Your rose vignette is so pretty. I love the antique tole pieces. I have a large tole cachepot that contains an arrangement I made of preserved lemon leaves and artichokes on my counter. Nice tole pieces are becoming harder to find. I was wondering if you have a good source for your items?
I love tole trays, yours are beautiful! Thank you for sharing 🙂

Thanks Larr. I’ve collected tole for a while and usually find pieces at antique malls. The watering can I found on Etsy.
I am now totally in love with this She Shed idea! I want one! I could literally play with it forever!
Thanks for the inspiration! Linda
