Weekend Waterview: Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Here’s a little weekend waterview. Our Memorial Day weekend weather forecast has been a mix of sunny, cloudy, and stormy.

I hung a basket on the dock this morning filled with Queen Anne’s Lace that I picked from the field next to my Potting Shed.

They cut the field for hay around Memorial Day every year, so I’m flying some flags and waving goodbye to Lacy Queen Anne until next year. ;)

Queen’s Anne’s Lace reminds me of fireworks that we’ve heard going off in celebration of Memorial Day since Friday night on the water. The real fireworks started about 2 am this morning with some serious thunder, lightening, and wind that resulted in downed trees and power lines, but fortunately no damage for us.

Oh I love those flags that you have by the waters edge! Source? I hope you get some boating in. Our weather is a little cool but today is supposed to be dry and in the 70’s. Thanks for the round up of recipes, we can always count on you! I am pinning!

Hooray for the red, white, and blue. Your lakeside vista is serene and welcoming. I miss our days of sailing on the lake, so each time you share your lake brings me much joy. Have a beautiful weekend. and hopefully a little sunny weather to outside. No big plans here. All the best to you and your guy and those two pretty girls.

Beautiful photos! Wishing you and yours a fantastic Memorial Day, hopefully on the boat. I always love seeing the Queen Anne’s Lace. It brings back so many childhood memories of days long gone. Thank-you for this wonderful post.

Great shots. Glad you had no damage. We’ve had threats of storms all weekend, but they keep passing us. However, so much rain last week the river was up, and boaters advised to stay out (unless they wanted to buy new motors and/or boats). Concerts on levee had to be moved up onto Blvd, but still a celebratory weekend. Enjoy!

Tho some say Queen Anne is a weed?? What a pretty simple arrangement you made!! Remember in childhood how we would put them in food coloring water! :)

Love the flags by the water, I am going to order some for the 4th of July. Have a wonderful Memorial Day. We are spending the weekend aboard our boat in the Manteo Harbour. Beautiful here.

Love the flags by the water! Going to try the Patriotic Star Spangled Fruit tart cookie crust recipe tomorrow. My grocery store didn’t have the “ready made” Pillsbury dough cookie mix, I had to buy 2 pkgs. of Betty Crocker dough mix (7.5 oz. each and I mix ingredients to get the dough). It will be a few extra steps, I hope it turns out. Happy Memorial Day and Yes, we are blessed. Thanks to all who have served and are serving now.

Dah, I should have looked in the “refrigerated section” as I now see on the package, it says “keep dough refrigerated”. I was in the baking isle. Well, now I know for next time. :)

Hi Cyndi, You must be a ‘from scratch’ girl, not looking in the refrigerator section! Hope your tart turned out OK despite your extra steps, Happy Memorial Day!

Beautiful lake scenes, Mary! We were awakened at 3 am by storms passing through, fortunately no damage! Happy Memorial Day!

What a perfect description of Queen Anne’s Lace, Mary. Your neck of the woods looks festive and pretty, and your flag photos are magnificent. Love your peppy patriotic pups!
