Truly love seeing your posts. Your photos are so inviting. Love how you love your shed and garden area. I am intrigued at the bountiful array of accessories you have and the lovely ideas of display. I do not have a “she shed”, but I have asked my Honey for one. I do enjoy my potting bench, but it is pretty much utilitarian rather than display and decor. Words just can’t express how lovely your potting shed is! Your creative decorations are so well thought out along with the strategic placements. I do have a shed of my own….nothing like yours of course, but it does give me a lot of pleasure puttering around in it except when I tend to store too many things in there and literally can’t move around in it. I have a relatively untouched tiny wooden shed that was on the property when we moved here. Your blog has opened my eyes to giving it much more attention. When I was a child, my cousins’ old chicken coops were converted to playhouses, and we spent hours in them. I would like to use this shed as a stopping place–a link to those memories. My tiny shed is begging for an outdoor garden room, where I could do handwork and share a cup of tea. This would change the feel of the property and allow me to enjoy it from another view. Thank you for all you share. I now see that I could actually really enjoy a little she shed of my own!

I have taken over my daughters playhouse, who are now 24 and 16…lol The house was filled with so much charm, and a piece we will keep for future grandchildren, but until then it is mine.😊
If I had a small cozy she shed, it would be full of flowers and dishes. In fact, I would display my dish collection, that is forever growing, among my blooms and plants. I love to share, so I would have a small, very dainty round table and petit chairs for 4. I would have morning coffee gatherings, tea parties and luncheons among the dishes and blooms! It would truly be my happy place as the gathering of beautiful dishes, magnificent blooms and dear sweet friends in one place would be an experience next to haven.

If I had a she-shed, I would use as a hidden gem for my grandchildren and me to escape to the wonderful, non technical world of wonder! I would use it for potting my plants for sure but would love to have a place to display lots of pretties I have and just chill out, watch the birds and other critters and read.
Your tablescapes and she-shed decorations are such an inspiration! I would like to do a fishing theme for my she-shed. I have a collection of vintage minnow buckets and other found fishing items that I now have on our covered porch. This Christmas I decorated a mini-tree with bobbers, an idea inspired by your fishing tree post.

Please put my name in for your giveaway of the book “She Sheds.” I would love to read that book!
If I had my own shed, I would first of all use it as a reflection of my personality and the things I like by decorating it in a way that I am unable to do in my home, which I share with a husband who doesn’t have the same tastes. I would also store decorative items and dishes in it that I use only seasonally or on an otherwise infrequent basis. If it were well-insulated and temperature controlled, I would include a bookshelf for books on tablescaping and gardening–particularly how to grow flowers as I’ve never had the opportunity to learn to do that. And I would have a comfortable chair in it with a side table and lamp where I could be alone to read and pray.

Hi, Mary! Your shed is probably the very one that served as the inspiration for my little she shed. Except I call mine the “Piddle House” because that’s exactly what occurs within it. Piddling! My dear husband and son in law gathered old windows here and there and put it together like a jigsaw puzzle. It’s precious! I sit there and think, or read, or pot a few plants, even paint a bit. But mostly I piddle. What a joy! Judy

Hi Mary, I would use it for different decorating ideas as when I’m creating my tablescapes, it’s so relaxing and exciting to see what I come up with. Surprise every time..!!! :):) I am taking a class at the community college on how to use my DSLR camera properly so I would love to have the shed for recording all my ideas after finishing them. And to have a place to sit on the little porch and watch the Lake Life go by..!!

What a gorgeous book! Congratulations on being featured. Your inspiring creativity deserves to be shared in every home! It is a feast for my eyes. If I had a shed, it would have lots of windows/light, a chair and table for relaxing after a day of gardening, a ceiling fan to cool me down on hot summer days, window boxes flowing with flowers, garden tools lined up in a place of their own, bins to hold my potting soil, a work bench for puttering, shelves for display of my favorite things. It would be located at the end of a garden path.
Love all the she sheds and I would use mine as you do for potting and displaying flowers, plants and dishes!! However our neighborhood does not allow sheds or outbuildings of any kind:( Have a great weekend Mary xo
Shhh, don’t tell my Husband, but my shed is where I hide all my treasures that I cull from Estate Sales, Salvation Army, and any other treasure troves! If I need something, BINGO, my shed probably has the perfect thing hidden in the nooks and crannies. Oh, to have a She Shed! That would be such a wonderful opportunity to have additional displays and storage just like Mary. Of course, my talents may not match her’s but practice makes perfect, right? So pretty, yes, I have a shed…more garden than pretty but I do try to tweak and stage when I can. I use an old sewing machine cabinet for my potting bench, a shelf above with bird nests, watering cans, signs, etc.
I would use my shed for gardening, reading, meditating, and sharing with a friend But at 83, I probably will only get to enjoy “she sheds” by turning pages in that wonderful book.
I don’t have a shed but if I did I would “channel Mary” and indulge myself with the things I love. It would be my playhouse surrounded by the things that feed my soul. I grew up as small town girl from a relatively poor family but watched my mother make everything pretty with what she had. You always knew which was my mother’s dish at the church supper — ribbon sandwiches, radish roses. I found I loved doing the same. After moving around with the military and corporate jobs where my love of such things was satisfied, I again find myself in a small town where a sprig of parsley on a plate is considered “fancy.” When I discovered Home is Where the Boat Is, it was like finding an oasis in the desert. I face moving to a condo, so no physical shed for me. But that doesn’t stop me dreaming and Mary, you have created something beautiful that inspires us all. Thank you for that. I have loved your Potting shed from Day One, following it’s life faithfully. There is a little bit of me living in there!

We did just make over our shed, which is now so fun and funky, inside is the mower and lawn equipment. Not quite a she shed. If I had my own, it would be my crafting spot!
I have never had a shed but I would use it to read and write and hide from the ironing.
You need to change the type of clothing that you are purchasing! I use to iron everything that I put on! Now, if it requires ironing, it stays on the rack. Yes, I do iron some, but very seldom!
Plans are in the making as I write this for a small shed for gardening. I moved into my farmhouse last April and have planted many flowers and vegetables since then, but really need a potting shed as there is no shade for me to do my potting…….I know I would find inspiration within these pages! Surrounded by vintage gardening books, treasured family took, and a random croquet set, I would set up my triloom in the SheShed so I coukd weave anongst the chirping birds and sweet snelling flowers. And absolutely a small cloth covered table with a sweaty, delicious pitcher of ice tea!

I’ve wanted a she shed ever since I’ve been looking at yours. It would be my escape to the beach, since I live in the mountains of New Mexico. I’d decorate it in coastal and get to use all my coastal dishes, flamingos and starfish. It’d be my escape and a place to do my cross stitching and reading. Have wanted a She Shed for most of my life but haven’t been blessed with one YET. I do have a “garden shed” and it is just that. I keep all my flower pots, garden implements and anything else pertaining to the garden. I adore the idea of a she shed and have been enjoying yours for quite some time now via the Internet. I love plants and books. I would use my shed for gardening and relaxation while reading. My little yorkies and I would stretch out in a cozy chair and read after a long morning of digging in the dirt.
I have a she shed of sorts, but it is mainly on the outside. Inside is where the mower and gardening equipment is stored in addition to pots and yard art in the winter. Each year I make it more she and this year I am making curtains for the windows. The most fun is during the winter holidays when I turn it into a Gingerbread House. I have a She-Shed that we had built for us in 2001 and I love it. It is an anchor for all my gardening obsessions and holds my garden collectibles. It is so wonderful to be able to display my collections in a garden setting and be able to have my working tools close at hand. Although I do use it for potting it is also a great respite at the end of the day for a glass of wine. Love your decorating and obsolutely am there with you on having a place to play and be creative.
My potting shed is the one that was featured on the cover of Country Gardens magazine that was the inspiration for your shed. I have been following your blog since stumbling on it via Pinterest. It has been inspiring to see the progression over the years.
I don’t have a shed but if I did it would be cozy and comfortable with an overstuffed chair and ottoman where I could sit and read. Or watch the birds and squirrels and ponder life. Or veg out. I would collect all sorts of things to put inside, all garden and animal related. Sivh.

I had a “doll house” when I was very young.. so IF… I had a SHE SHED today.. it would be my OASIS to escape the frantic world that surrounds us.. I always felt like I had escaped to another world, as a child, when I entered my own little hideaway… I could decorate it anyway i wanted with no comments or repercussions.. and that doll house was in constant flux from an ice cream parlor, to a hospital, to a restaurant, to a dress shop.. oh to be a dreamed filled child again!!!!

I think my she shed would act as a library. Walls and walls of books along with some comfy chairs and lamps for reading at all hours. Maybe some soft music, a nice library table for research and a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign for the front door!

I have a ‘she shed’ which also has a lovely patio cover built on the end. The shed portion is used to house garden tools, etc., but the patio for my wrought iron couch and cushions. I also use a hand made chair that my dad made, which we always refer to as the THROWN..smiles…I am currently in the process of preparing it for summer use, by planting adjacent areas and lots of pots, and pulling out my huge crock (used as a table), vintage stool, vintage nail kegs (also table tops!). I have a lovely sign in the background that says ‘Horses for Sale’. Last year I had a nesting pair of wrens in my small decorative birdhouse. That really added to the magic! Love it out there…
I don’t have a “she shed”, because I live in Greece and we don’t use them. Women in my country usually have craft rooms. BUT… when I look at “she shed” photos I dream of one of my own. I’m a retirement navy officer and I have plenty of time. I would use it as a library, with lots of books and reading lamps. “She shed” is a room where every woman could relax and dream!

Good morning Mary, what a fun book!! I do not have a she shed but only dream of such a delight. I think of the decorations..loving me some buffalo check curtains and hydragernia with perfect red geraniums to greet you at the front door( barn door , of course.) Sadie Bell and Earl my two constant companions while Mr. Hubby is at work would help with the look as they lounge on the wooden porch floor. We built our gardening shed about 18 years ago and I do share it with the riding lawn mower, garden cart, power washer and wheel barrow. But the other half is mine! It is a real working garden shed, even in my half but I do have a metal shelf where I have my display of abandon nests and bird houses. I have a corner to place my flower pots in the winter and a small roll top desk that I found by the side of the road. It is so cute with little drawers inside. Hubby had to brace the legs and fix it up a bit, but it is perfect for the shed. I also have a long 4 shelf wooden unit that is filling up with baskets, vases, and ball jars. Now that I’m retired, I’ve added a flower bed in the front to connect to the bed off to the side and have repainted her porch. I’ve also just added a brown wicker rocking chair with red cushions and it adds so much charm. I can’t wait to actually “relax” and sit in it! ha. My hubby keeps saying, you are going move into her one day! He sees how much joy she brings me and even said maybe we could move things around in the garage and put the riding lawn mower in there! wow! I caught him sitting in my rocker the other day and he gave a big smile of approval. My shed is white with green trim and green porch and green batten shutters with a pine tree cut-out. I have double doors that open like french doors, but only the top half has the windows. I wish my one window would open but it doesn’t, I would like to change that one day. I don’t have a she-shed, Mary, but have my pergola covered patio with my little waterfall. I use it for having my lunch, and for a special spot for praying. Your darling potting shed always inspires me and puts a happy smile on my face.
I would use it as a crafting room but of course have a nice place to sit and read also. Maybe even take naps from time to time. To have a quiet place all to my self would be lovely!

I do not have a she shed but would love having one for crafting, gardening and meditating. I am a fairly recent widow and leaving my long-time home in Florida to move to Georgia where my daughter lives with her husband and 11 year old son. We are going to build a multi-generational home so having a she-shed would give me a place to call my very own and a private get away when I need it.
I do have a potting shed that my DH built for me! Oddly enough, I decided not to plant flowers in my window boxes this Summer. Instead I used my huge collection of Conch shells to fill them. I haven’t had good luck with my flowers during the hot Summer months here, so I think I will be adding some drought tolerant succulents. I love my flowers so I have placed them in shaded areas in pots to give me some color for the Summer! I’m hoping to decorate my potting shed like some of those pictured here. I love your photography! other day that he wants to build me a green house…I corrected him and said NO Honey!, a She Shed is what I need.

We are working on building my she shed. I’m very excited, I’ve been collecting old windows and doors for several years and have incorporated them into the shed. I want to use it for gardening and entertaining. We are also beekeepers and I’m hoping to keep the bee stuff in it also.

I did have a “she” shed for a while. My husband had built our daughters a “playhouse” but wisely built it adult height and made it large enough for a table and chairs, a counter for serving, display, potting, etc. After my girls had left the nest, I turned it into what I called “The Potting Shed” and had themed ladies lunches inside, big enough for four ladies. We had a high old time, eating, laughing and enjoying the company and decorations and of course, sweet tea!! I left it in its natural state and did not add air conditioning, but it is now gracing my daughters yard for her daughter to use as a playhouse and it has a window unit in it. After all, we live in Louisiana and she can use it year round. I just love looking at your pictures and watch your blog continually. I love that you let us know where you are finding a lot of your items that you use in your pictures. Keep it coming!! Wonderful inspiration!!

I have She Shed envy and would so love to have one in my back yard. I make and sell custom wreaths, floral arrangements and custom cemetery arrangements. I would make mine into a display area/store and add some of my many collected items. I love your shelf under the window that we often drool over. I was blessed to be able to have a custom build “she” shed by our local Omish craftsman last year. It is a dream come true. I have been spending this spring organizing and decorating it to be my place of respite. I use it for all of my gardening treasures. Inside I have precious items such as a few birdhouses my dad made me…I am an avid (beginner) backyard birder and love to collect items with my favorite birds on them. I am in the process of landscaping the outside with all my favorite flowers. I have build a memory garden on one side of it where I plant all the plants that my loved once enjoyed. I find your shed and blogs so inspiring and have gotten a lot of great ideas from you, Mary. I am so impressed by your talents and all the beautiful items that adorn your shed. I’ve just found your blog, and I’ve fallen in love with your she shed. I have a woodsy backyard in Wisconsin filled with perennials. If I had a shed, I’d make it a quaint little place to write. I’ve just celebrated 20 years as a self-employed freelance writer, and I often write outside in my garden. Thanks for your wonderful blog. I’ll visit often :)
I have a playhouse that was designed by Southern Living. I bought it several years ago and had the “door” enlarged so an adult could enter. I had electricity installed for lights and a ceiling fan. It has a little front porch with window boxes and a total of 4 windows on 3 sides.. Presently it is painted a light purple with lots white trim. First I decorated the interior in shabby chic and it was a “get away” with lots of comfy chairs for reading/resting/dreaming. Eventually I used it as a place to make my wreaths, unfortunately my crafts supplies became too numerous. Presently it houses my overflow of seasonal decorations. No matter what goes on inside my little house, it still is cute as a bugs year! I would dearly love to receive a copy of She Sheds. I plan on retiring soon and I want to play in my little house/shed once again!
Because my house lacks storage the shed in the back was originally built for that purpose. When the children were growing up it stored sporting equipment, bicycles, etc. We also need to store lawn equipment. Now that they are grown up and the yard work is hired done I would like to pretty it up for me. It sounds like this book would give me a lot of nice ideas.

I would love to have a “She Shed”! I could read and dream of everything I want to do before I die. I turn 60 this year and it seems my life is work and taking care of family. I have a she-shed, but it’s still got a long way to go before it looks anything like yours! I have crafting and gardening supplies inside and want to set up a seating area and potting bench outside. Surrounded by plants and flowers, of course!
If I were lucky enough to have a She Shed, I would use it for potting flowers, crafting and displaying some of my vintage finds. Maybe even a comfy chair for reading. Ah, a “SHE SHED!”. I would use it as a sweet little room for making flower arrangements and house my many, many vases for doing so. It would also have a little table and two comfy wicker chairs for when I want to retreat from the noise of the family and sit with a friend and have a little tea party. So many other ideas, too numerous to count!!

I do not have a potting shed, but I do have a potting bench :).i would use the book to dream and to help my sister create a little oasis in our Dad’s old shop. (She moved in with him when our mother passed to help care for him and prevent too much loneliness.) As wonderful as Dad is, I think she would enjoy the solitude offered by creating a She Shed-a little getaway in the backyard.

Oh, Mary, if I had a She Shed I would use it as my “grown-up play house”. When I was a child, my dad generously gave me his tool shed which was a small space off the garage. It had two windows and a tall built in table. I can’t begin to tell you how many hours my best friend and I spent fixing up our “house” and playing in it. I think it would be fun to have a special “house” to do as you do with holidays, collections, and creative styling. No good spot for one, but I’d love to have a copy of this book to dream and fill my imagination with She Shed ideas!

I would love a She Shed, I have an old tin storage shed that is falling apart and has holes in the roof so I have to cover it with tarps to keep the rain out, I want to have a wooden, roomy one to use for a little storage, a studio for painting and pottery and gardening, I really like the double door look. If I had a she shed, (which I really do want!) I would use it as a place to be off to myself. It would include items from my mother’s home that are special to me (like my baby crib, which was hers as well) and other vintage items. Of course I would share it with friends and family, on an invitation basis! I keep saying “that would look so good in my she shed!” whenever I spot a great deal or unique item. I have a shed that came with the property. Not a cute ‘she shed’ but it could be with help from the book. I often stare at it and try to picture what an asset it could be to the property if only it was a real She shed. I am constantly here looking at your shed. I would love to win a book!!

Like everyone else here I love your she shed and would love to have one of my own. I think every woman needs a place that’s just hers. My shed would be used for crafting, reading and contemplating life – talking to my God. All of the things mentioned by everyone here are healthy and help use to keep our lives on track. Your she shed is so inviting! I would love to have one to decorate for the seasons and here in Kansas we get all four in all their glory! The problem would be getting my husband to not take it over and use it for wintering all of his plants!!
If I had a she-shed I would be convinced I had died and gone to heaven! I would use it to create: my blog, short stories, journal, tablescapes, flower arrangements, crafts. I would have tea parties and wine tastings. I would meditate and pray. I’m sure I would find any number if other things to do there. The first thing I would do, however, is to invite my husband in and we would have coffee together. Coffee time is our shared pleasure of the day when we catch up and relax together.

I would love to have a she shed to putter and pot for my beautiful cottage flower beds. I started them from scratch and they are my getting away from everything, my freedom from stress, my babies. Most were started from seeds or small plants that I have divided. I now supply my neighbors with flowers for their gardens. There were. no gardens in my neighborhood before I moved I and now they are up and down our entire block…..my old shed that I had has fallen down and I hope to get a new one soon and elaborate on some new designs….you are an inspiration. I love your posts, you have so many great ideas!

I was just cherishing my own Virginia Morning Glories this morning as they greeted my day… wisps of purple majesty on the vine! They returned as volunteers as a gift to me this spring! They are climbing the stake and strings provided to grow midst the new wimsy of a garden sign that my husband bought for us:

If I had a she shed it would be the place I have dreamed of on the occasions that I have let my mind run wild with the “what if” possibilities.
I see a place with windows and french doors to let in as much natural light as possible. A sky light in the ceiling would be heavenly, to see the beautiful sky by day; the stars at night, and hear the soft patter of rain drops.
A writers retreat where creativity would flourish, embraced by trees and flowers. A quiet space, surrounded by nature, lending itself to all my creative fancies, painting, crafting, gardening, and just quietly listening to birds. A special place for me, with a designated snuggle cushion for my Rat terrier, Noelle. Pure bliss.

My She Shed would be a woman’s garden shed! Bright, attractive storage guaranteed to support my love for nature with supplies close at hand for potting, repotting and inspiring. I’ve got an acre to mow, trim and keep beautiful and the garage is a rabbit warren of scattered supplies, clutter from other projects, cars, mower, yard tools, soil bags and amendments. Frustrating and sad the minute I walk in and an uphill climb to garden love.

I currently do not have a “She Shed,” but have been truly longing for one for years now. My oldest daughter had a small plastic play house which she outgrew, so I pretended it was a little cottage, until I realized it was not very fun, since no one could actually fit in it. Anyway, I have been looking at “She Sheds” on websites until my eyes have glazed over. I have even gone to Lowe’s to check out the prices of pre-made sheds. To this day, I am still longing for a “She Shed” of my own where I could dream, create, imagine, garden, hold tea parties, sit with my husband/family, and maybe someday host garden parties for the little ones. I put in a hold request at my local library for the She Shed book by Erika Kotite, and am waiting patiently for it. I would be thrilled to have a copy of my own. Your “She Shed” is absolutely beautiful!

I think the only way to have a garden shed is for it to be a she-shed! I would love one someday and I would decorate it to reflect my personality and redecorate it every season. I would love it to be big enough to pot plants in, have an overstuffed chair to read in, and to have girlfriend time in. Yours has so much inspiration for all of the above!

thank you for the information on the bottle tree concerning the reason for using blue bottles. I have one and am trying to fill it with blue bottles-Saratoga sparkling water. Our next project is to make some other bottle trees out of tomato cages and put randomly in the gardens.

I love your blog and your She Shed. Your blog is the one I go to first each morning. I do not have a She Shed, but would love to have one to display all my “finds”. I would love a copy of this book. You truly are an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love your shed. It’s like having a playhouse that you can dress up for the seasons and change up for any blogging idea you may have — beautiful and so much fun!
My She Shed would be a painting studio! I currently paint in the living room. It would be great to have a separate place for all my painting supplies and other crafting “stuff”. For months before the Harry Potter Camp I do every summer, there are 50 or so little wizard hats being sewn, give-aways for Diagon Alley being created on the dining room table, craft kits being assembled, and props being crafted! My husband would probably love it even more! I might even use some of the boxes of seasonal decorations that tend to stay in storage to decorate, although probably not a beautifully as you do.
I just read your post that talked about the history of bottle trees. I have never been intrigued by bottle trees in the past but your information about their history puts them in a different light. I may have to consider putting one in my garden.
I have a roofed structure thatin its day held fire wood. It was given to us when an elderly lady did not want it any longer. My husband and daughter installed a wood plank floor one summer. From the time we acquired it I started making it into a she shed. It currently does not have walls only studs that hold up the roof. On one side I horizontally hung old baseboard that I painted black. On the other side I nailed old picket fence slats. I have a work table and chairs that look like ice cream parlor style. I have tons planned for it but you know how it goes—-its either time or money. Curtains hung on heavy jute is the next project. I would so love to see this book for inspiration.
I have always wanted a she shed to go when life gets over the top… It would be filled with frills and flowers and books about gardening…I would invite my friends to have tea and scones and to discuss how our gardens grow…. Congratulations on your She Shed. I enjoy reading your post. I have enjoy tried to do some of the ones you posted for Christmas and Halloween. Were not as pretty as yours but I was happy with how they turned out. If I had a She Shed it would be full of shells. I love the beach and everything about it. Mine would be a Shell Shed!!! Thanks!!

My husband bought me a shed in 2006, I referred to her as “the Doll house”, as She Sheds weren’t a thing yet! I have painted, decorated, and my husband and I installed a bluestone patio in the front of her! Perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, relax, craft, and store gardening things off season!

Would love to have a copy of “She Sheds”. I am told I have way too many books and magazines but all of that started WAY BEFORE Pinterest and Hometalk! I do need to consolidate however; I still like Victorian but not as fixated as I once was. It is amazing how are styles evolve with popular trends, etc. Find your blog truly an inspiration even to the point of purchasing a pontoon boat earlier this spring! Even my hubby knows you as Chloe and Gracie’s mom!

I would love to watch the last rays of sunlight and the oncoming nighttime here. I have a shed. My hubby tried his best to make it a he shed, but when his attention wandered, I removed the twisted fertilizer sacks and dirt clods and added an iron table, rolling cart, and SHE items. Hubby is too scared to be near such a girly place, so my shed had a happy ending. As for the outside, I liked your addition of wood chips, and I am attempting to do this bit by bit.
Congratulations on being included in the book very deserving your she shed is beautiful throughout all the seasons. Unfortunately I do not have a she shed but if I did have one I would make it into a very feminine sitting room with books and a pretty table and a comfy couch with french doors that open wide and no ceiling just rafters painted white. A little place all my own.

I don’t have one, but if I did I would probably use it for crafting with the grandkids, and just as a getaway spot for myself. I love to decorate, so I could go crazy in there!
I have a perfect place in the corner of my yard for a She Shed. I would build one with an extra large front porch with rockers on one side and a small table with two chairs on the other. I know the hubs would want to store the garden tools and mowers inside…and that’s OK…because I really just want a porch to decorate and enjoy my cup of tea there. He could have a little space to one side, but then the other side would need a large potting bench with lots of space for pots, bags of potting mix and the like. On the north side of the shed, I would need a pad to put my spinning composter on. Our yard is too hot in the Summer here in Texas for the composter, but the shade of the north side of the shed would help keep it cool enough! Thanks for all the inspiration you give us with your pretty shed.
I would use my she shed for small tea parties, maybe a dinner party once or twice a year and to tinker around with just decorating and playing.
I have a shed, but I share a potting bench with my husband’s tools and stored bric a brac. If I had a SheShed, I would use it for potting, for craft projects, and for painting furniture. I love yours – it looks like an ideal place to play and dream!
I have a tiny shed that I call my garden barn.It is small and when I put all my fleamarket gardening things away for our snow belt Ohio winters I have about a 1ft wide path to even get in there. It is a functional shed not a fun shed.
I love looking at all the She sheds and dreaming of having one some day!

Mary, I love, love, love your she shed. You inspire me in so many ways. I have duplicated your twig and burlap window treatments. I also have some tole trays and my colored ball jars. I only have half the shed. I ordered and had my she shed built. Then my hubby bought a vintage Austin Healy. He meet the third stall of the garage so now half my shed is lawn mowers. YUK! I am so happy you were published, congrats. I come back and scroll through your blog all the time. I inspires me so much. I have enjoyed reading all of the above comments too. Hello Mary! What fun you are having with the “She Shed” Book. Would be a lovely book to add to my garden books. My “She Shed” is inside in my Sewing/Art Studio, that’s what I call it. My Garden Shed is inside my garage with a lovely bench (when not filled with my husband’s tools) lol My garden walks are much like yours with lovely walkways through my herb garden and vegetable gardens. With many flowers for every season. I have been gardening here for 30 years. I walk my gardens daily, if not deadheading and picking, then just taking in all the beauty. Again, thank you for the weekly treats of your emails, they are so much fun. Hope I win the book.

I just recently had a she shed added to my backyard. It’s where I sew, quilt, paint, visit with my husband (he has his own chair) and day dream. I can view the flowers and back yard through the full glass door. It’s perfect! Even my Corgi Bella agrees as she sleeps under the sewing table. My quiet place to watch the world go by.

I do not have a she-shed but would love to have one. I would use it for all of my craft things and to do my quilting projects. This place would become my happy place and allow me to be stress free and just escape in my own space thinking I was on a vacation oh how awesome that would be! What a lovely sight to wake up to each morning!!!!
I would use this as a textile crafting studio. I would put a spinning wheel (or two) and a weaving loom and all my yarn, knitting and tatting supplies in the shed. Then I would add a comfy knitting chair, some music, maybe a glass of wine and me! It would be so nice to have a space of my own, preferably with windows for sunlight.

I so love your She Shed, just beautiful. I live in the desert of northwest Arizona ( hot and windy and very dry). If I had a She Shed, I guess it would consist of cacti decor, lots of succulants, with the beauty of lots of colorful rocks. You really have to have an imagination in the desert, but what beauty there is if you will just look for it. Enjoy your wonderful green land you live in and thanks for the beautiful pictures.
I came to your page through Hometalk after looking at your post about the bottle tree and morning glories. Morning glories are one of my favorite flowers and I just recently decided to make a bottle tree. However, it was only after your inspiration of the two together that I decided to get started right away on the tree. I have the flowers in the yard but need a place for them to climb and they have a ways to go before they will reach the porch. Enter the bottle tree. Yay! I am so excited about this.
As for the book, well, who wouldn’t want a copy of that?? it is a beautiful book and the pages are fullof inspiration as well. I have enjoyed digging in the dirt for years, find it very therapeutic. Just never had a lot of time to devout to it between life and work. after being diagnosed with a chronic illness and having to quit work, I now have a lot of time to do so, albeit, not a lot of money. I love plants and flowers and garden art and all things connected to such. I would love to have the opportunity to get lost in the pages of this while looking out over my bottle tree with the morning glories climbing all over it.

Your She shed looks totally suited to you and reflects everything you write about in your blog posts. I’ve enjoyed your blog for a long time now and always feel inspired by your photos and writing. So I want to say a big thank you.
What a wonderful way to be able to share your “She Shed” – in a book ! If I were to have my own She Shed I would actually use it for my gardening tools, vases and potting supplies and not have to share with a car in a crowded garage. I could make it rustically beautiful inside in contrast to the more simplistic design in my mid-century modern home (which I also love).
If I had a she shed I would decorate with all my vintage finds that my family frowns at. I’m a hard core junker who’s easily distracted by rusty junk!
I finally got my she shed after dreaming about it for years. It is mostly glass so l use it as a greenhouse as well as a potting shed. I filled it with my collection of birdcages as well as some special plants and pretty accents. I have 2 comfy chairs with fluffy pillows and a small table to sit and read gardening books and catalogs. Lastly l put a pretty crystal chandelier to twinkle in the sun and night.
