Weekend Waterview: Hot, Humid and Boating with Dogs

Happy Sunday! I’m sharing a little weekend waterview from our boating excursions over the last couple of weeks. We’re lying low in the comfort of the A/C this weekend, since it’s so crazy hot that even the normally refreshing lake breezes feel like a convection oven!

When it’s not so dog gone hot, Chloe & Gracie enjoy an early morning or early evening boat ride.

Crushed ice chips are mandatory for summer and part of the boating experience.

We always enjoy checking out the osprey nests on the lake. . .

Osprey return to their same nest each year in March after wintering in Central and South America. They can log more than 160,000 migration miles during their 15-to-20-year lifetime.

They build their nests on manmade structures . . . channel markers, duck blinds, power poles and nest platforms designed especially for nesting.

Chloe and Gracie both agree that there’s nothing better than sitting in the Captain’s chair.

Along with an early morning nap on the pontoon.

I’ll leave you with a few sunset shots. . .

Hope you’re finding a way to beat the heat and stay cool this weekend!

So very nice. I’ve been dodging in and out long enough to just spray out & refill the birdbath and keep the annuals going. Welcome rain today.

Good Sunday Morning, Mary! Love the waterview posting! Yes, I agree it does feel like a convection oven here too, in the southern part of Greenville county, SC. The waterview pics are so refreshing!!! Chloe and Gracie are sooooo cute! Great pics as usual!!! Also loved your Lakeside table; Red fish, Blue Fish!!! Sorry for the delayed comments on that posting!!! The lakeside table postings are my Very Favorite, you know!!! FYI…I checked Target for the planter on your wall, no luck!!! ☹️ But I did find some that I liked at IKEA…Stay cool and hope you have a relaxing Sunday!!! Thanks for sharing Lake Norman!!!

Mary, Chloe and Gracie are always so cute and I love to see them, especially on the boat. Ospreys are interesting that they build nests on man-made things, rather than trees. A river almost backs up to our property and we had a pair of bald eagles nesting within five minutes of our house for several years, but they abandoned that nest. We still get sightings over our house. They are awesome birds to watch! Happy Sunday to you!

Who can not believe in Global Warming this summer!! Temps have been high in New England this week, but hope when the rain comes it will cool down. Gorgeous photos of the sunsets on the lake. Those Osprey are just amazing and that first nest is quite a structure. Chloe and Gracie are too cute! Thank-you for a lovely Sunday post. P.S. You have one handsome Captain!

On the gulft coast our osprey do build on old trees way up high. We live in Elberta in the Josephine Community and I entered a contest to name two ospreys that are being watched by camera and won. The osprey couple is called Josephine and Elbert. They had three babies this spring. I so enjoyed your sharing about the ospreys where you live. Wonderful information!

Osprey fascinate me, so graceful and so hard to believe they migrate so far! We have one that perches at the peak of our neighbor’s roof every afternoon and I love to watch him…I love to watch the boating dogs too, they are frequent passengers, all breeds and sizes, even on paddle boards! Definitely too hot for anything but AC this weekend, but I enjoyed the virtual boat ride with Chloe and Gracie and the lake breezes!

Good morning! The thought of the boating excursions on your beautiful lake and the those sunset views offer a cooling refresh to me here in TX where it’s been triple digits recently. I’m off for an early walk shortly while it is still relatively cool. Enjoy the day in the comfort of the AC. We will! ‘-)

Welcome to my world!! We went out, tis morning, on our pontoon (“Big Bertha”) and there was just a “leetle” relief from this putrid hot days…our lake is down 8 inches of evaporation. Lazy, crazy days of summer….franki

We now have osprey at Lake Martin. They first appeared here about five years ago. The ones that nest near our cabin are in what’s called “Three Blind Mice” and we can’t get very close or we’ll run aground. They are so beautiful, and your photos are fantastic! We might take our pups out for a ride in a bit.

    Have a blessed Sunday!

It’s just starting to get hot here on the southern California coast and the heat draws visitors like flies to honey. With no A/C in my car or house, I run errands as early as possible in the day, avoiding the crowds of sun and beach lovers. Thanks so much for adding pictures of Chloe and Gracie to my day. They are such lovable cuties.

This posting is a week late. Thank you for your wonderful pictures of your Lake Norman cruise with the girls. They are so adorable. It was terribly hot in Virginia last weekend as well. This weekend so far has been rainy and cool with temperatures in the 70’s. A blessed relief from all the heat and humidity. May you enjoy this weekend as well.
