Weekend Waterview

Happy Sunday!

It’s been a rainy, hot & muggy weekend here with pop up storms. I pulled together some blue waterviews and photos taken over the last couple of weeks from our boating excursions.

I’m always fascinated how the water changes with the light.

How the light can make water can go from diamond sparkles. . .

And a silvery haze.

To casting pink highlights on clouds and boat sails. . .

Turning the water periwinkle and lavender. . .

Or bathing everything with a golden glow at sunset.

How little white dogs can appear slightly pink in the sun setting.

I had someone once ask after I posted a photo of Chloe and Gracie at sunset if I dyed their fur pink.

{No. . . *shudder*}

Hope you’re enjoying some clear skies and staying cool this weekend!

Thank you for your visit!

Thank you for sharing these beautiful lake pictures, the sunsets really speak to me. We sold our cabin at the lake about 2 years ago and I miss the scenery.

Just beautiful! I envy you living on the water. I am a sunrise/sunset lover and it always amazes me how each one is so vastly different yet so breathtaking.

We have had a few little storms. Last night the radar showed a big, nasty storm headed right for us but it skirted right around us and we didn’t get a drop! Your water views make my heart happy and bring back memories of being at my in-laws and having the same views.

How pretty! Love how the sky looks like it is on fire and I always love any water pictures. They are so pretty they could be postcards. Fur babies are darling, hugs to them. Going to Lighthouse beach today after church. :)

Definitely clear skies here, but the cool part, not so much! ;-)
Your lakeside living has me wanting to close up our house and move to a lake setting. I miss our days on the water, and your boating photos bring back such lovely memories. Just recently we discussed those days. Don’t think either of us could do the work involved with sailing after all these years, but still, it’s fun to remember.
Have a great day! Hugs to those white pups with the pink glow!

We’re at the lake this weekend, for a very RARE long weekend, Thursday – Monday. I hate to leave tomorrow!

Your photos are wonderful, and I love how the pups taken the glow of the sunset. They are too, too cute! I hope Chloe and Gracie get a long boat ride this afternoon!

Cute fur babies and gorgeous lake shots! Just dropping by to say I saw a vintage bird book in Lake Norman Antique Mall (about the 2nd booth on the right going in, in a metal milk crate), that reminded me of you. It had Audubon society booklets inside, etc. I believe it was $29, in case you are interested. :)

I always enjoy your lake pictures, Mary. We lived on Lake Erie and then on a small inland lake here in Ohio. That lake looked similar to yours – and – I miss the water so much as we are land locked now. Thanks for takiing me along on your boat rides. Love those doggies!

Mary, Your photos are so gorgeous and the collection makes me yearn for a house on the water too. Sunlight (and even moonlight!) creates a different view from hour to hour. Chloe and Gracie have their own natural pink girly glow from happy living at the lake! I’m wondering if you will be able to get some wonderful photos of the eclipse for those of us not in the path. Linda

Thanks Linda! We’re going to be at 97% . I googled last week and found out I would need a solar filter to keep from harming the camera’s imaging sensor as well as for correct exposure. It kind of scares me even to think about using solar eclipse glasses which are safe! 🌞🌒
