So ready for fall. Living in Hotlanta I am sure it will be October before we have fall temps. It cannot come soon enough for me.

That’s what I miss being in Florida!

With September came a 48 degree morning. That feels like winter! I saw the first hint of changing leaves yesterday which means fall is not far away.

Peggy Toney Horton has said it best! Your gorgeous photos display all the treasures of Autumn. Absolutely in love with the hay bale. Thank-you so much for this splendid post.

We’ve been enjoying fall-like weather here for the last week+, but summertime temps will return this weekend to remind us “It ain’t quite over yet!” I love fall. Everything about it…except for the awful hurricanes and allergies that affect so many people…is lovely. I’m thankful for the beautiful change of seasons we get to experience every year here in Missouri! ❄️🌱🌞🍁

There’s something to be said about the late summer of September. The cooler weather in the morning & the hot afternoons are wonderful! Trees are preparing for Fall with some trees dropping their leaves already. Love this prelude to Autumn. Happy September 1st everyone.
Have a great holiday weekend, Mary.

I’m always ready for Fall to arrive, but I’m still not in the mood to decorate…maybe before too long. I always enjoy coming to your home for inspiration, Mary. Happy weekend to you!

Everything is lovely! Is that bittersweet underneath the 3 pumpkins stacked on top of each other? I love it but it’s hard to find in middle Georgia. So glad for a reprieve from the heat and humidity.

  17. September 1, 2017 at 9:40 am

Such beautiful fall inspiration. We are building a new home and it is almost finished. Looks like I will be moving in at the end of this month and will be decorating for fall! All of my velvet pumpkins are packed away. Can’t wait to move in and dig them out of the boxes.

  18. September 1, 2017 at 10:03 am

Happy September Mary!!! Already I feel the temps feeling a teeny bit cooler…mostly in the morning..but it is great to spend time on the porch again….I love Fall…one of the reasons is that I can see your magnificent Fall posts! What a most wonderful time of the year! Fall beauty at its best right here!!!

Mary, I’ve been following your blog like a groupie for at least a year now. You just have that special touch with every picture. Your decor is magazine-worthy with every single vignette. And of course, I love your fur-babies! The picture that took my breath this morning was the fall pontoon party. I’ve seen lots of pictures on your boat, but this is the first I’ve seen where you decorated the boat. I’m going exploring on the blog now to see if I’ve missed any. It’s a beautiful idea.

  21. September 1, 2017 at 10:36 am

I think one of my favorite post!

  22. September 1, 2017 at 10:42 am

Welcome September! I want to go on an afternoon autumn tour on the Crest! That’s my favorite part about this post. The boat looks so welcoming and comfy for fall!!!! You are the bomb, my friend!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Always a treat to see your compilation posts, full of your gorgeous work! We have the remnants of Harvey here now, and I’m starting to see leaves on the ground. Pumpkins and mums are rolling into the farmer’s market, and I’ll soon enjoy cooler temps all day, not just in the mornings. I absolutely love the angles of light this time of year and reflections of color. Have a great weekend.

Wow, great ideas and photos. My favs are the one with your pooch sitting on the bench behind the decor, your great styling for a boat picnic, the stacked pumpkins and of course, the quotes. Thanks for the feast for the eyes. I have my white pumpkins out but now I promise to do a bit more in the next day. Inspiration or what. .. . . .

Okay, so now I want to go on a hayride and have a picnic after picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch!! Fall seems to be everyone’s favorite season, especially after this long hot summer ☀️ We are feeling a touch in the morning and evenings, and how did the days get so much shorter overnight? Hurry fall, and take the hurricanes away please! I hope you go pontoon picnic this weekend!

Mary, your beautiful photography never fails to inspire me. Fall is my favorite season, not only because of all the amazing colors, great weather, and dappled light, but also because it’s a time with several holidays that allow for several changes of decor. I look forward, always, to seeing yours. Hope you enjoy a fun weekend.

Beautiful, inspiring photos. I am going to read each post. This summer and, in fact, the whole year has been flying by. I love the beauty of all seasons, but hot summer is my least favorite. The sun at Boulder’s elevation is a scorcher! Thanks for fall ideas.

  42. September 28, 2017 at 9:51 am

This post is gorgeous. That sunset had me spellbound! Every picture is beautiful and I could camp here for a long time. Trying so hard to catch up. Great post.

Mary, I can’t believe I never commented last year on this awesome post, as every picture is a wonderful tribute to Fall! I LOVE the “on fire” sunset and the lovely “livingroom” on the pontoon boat. My love for that boat is running neck and neck with my love for the garden shed! Ha Thank you for capturing the essence of fall. Getting excited to do some baking, i,e, your wonderful Bundt cake pictured above! It is SO GOOD! 😋

Hi Mary, I look so forward to your postings and beautiful pictures. It is clear you put a lot of time and thought into them. You live in the most gorgeous place, I am so appreciative of the view of the water and all the surrounding natural serenity. I love several of these pictures and posted them. Among my favorites are the flower arrangement in a pumpkin tureen which has given me some great plans for a beautiful tureen I have but it rarely gets any use. The picture of the round bales of hay, also lovely, beautiful and pastoral. Every one of your photos that show the leaf colors changing are stunning. I am in central California and we only have that in the vineyards with the changing of the seasons. I am also a big day lily fan, use to have Stella but now it is astonishing how many new varieties there are. Thanks so much for all the work you do to create such a lovely website.

  48. September 11, 2018 at 9:16 pm

Thanks you Mary for the fall inspiration. Beautiful pumpkin arrangement.

I can’t say it enough times…what a treasure you are Mary. Every time I click on your blog—-I know I’m going to have a feast for my eyes, some peace for my soul…and learn something wonderful to do or plant. Thanks for all these gorgeous posts…and please stay safe! Sandi
