I’m lakeside with plaid and pumpkins, for an alfresco fall table!
I’m mad about plaid no matter what the season and I found this plaid metal bucket recently, to complement a set of fall plaid plates. I filled the plaid container with dried Limelight Hydrangeas for an easy centerpiece for the table.
Harvest Blessing Pumpkin salad plates are paired with plaid dinner plates, and layered on woven rattan chargers, joining bone-handled flatware, adding for some warm texture.
Pumpkins along the stacked stone wall of the patio, add some welcome seasonal fall color, framed with a bittersweet wreath, alongside a pot of tricolor mums.
And amber stemware provides a golden autumn glow with curved bell-shaped goblets.
Containers with ornamental kale, violas and mini pumpkins as filler provide some seasonal fall color.
We enjoyed some fall-like temperatures and beautiful weather for alfresco dining last week. It feels more like August than October this week, with 80 degrees temperatures along with humidity and rain from Tropical Drepression Nate. We needed the rain, but most went west and north of us, along with the tornadoes that spun through western NC and upstate SC.

Love the mix of colors and patterns….lovely and warm
So festive. You always top of the season
Perfectly set for a lovely dinner by the lake!
Love it all. What a great find in that plaid picnic basket – a perfect match to the ensemble. And that’s quite an investment of pumpkins and mums on that wall. It’s gorgeous! I am crazy about the light at this point in the season, so pretty.
Nate just kinda blitzed right by us too – we were supposed to have rain today but it’s gone – pfft. Warm and humid, just sort of damp and yucky.
Have a great week.
Hi Rita, Yes I’m fully invested in fall, my favorite season! Now if Mother Nature will only cooperate 🍁🍂🎃
How lovely! Everything is absolutely lovely.
I’m loving your plaid container filled with hydrangeas, Mary. Of course, your tablecloth is the perfect Fall backdrop for your pretty dishes, goblets, napkins and flatware. You pumpkin filled wall, along with the Fall flowers makes for such a beautiful setting. Wish I was a guest!
Ahhh, just so lovely. The table is so beautiful and the lake view, so serene. I’ll have a piece of Pecan pie with a dollop of whipped cream, please while I sit and stare / enjoy the view. ♥
That table just wants me to say “Ahhhh”. So peaceful there by the lake. Here is West MI it has been very very dry and we are hoping for rain. It was a dry Summer and so far Fall has followed suit. I’m not complaining but my gardens are.
love plaid love your table – so serene
Gorgeous!!! Perfect Autumn table. I’m with you- anything plaid I am drawn to; so I love your new find of the plaid bucket!
What a great find….I love the plaid bucket used in your centerpiece! BTW I did find the plates at Pier1 and they have the perfect shade of blush pink to match our kitchen island. I also love the little green pumpkin which matches our French door shade. I bought a set to enjoy throughout October and Thanksgiving.
Have a great week!
xo,

So glad to hear they work for you Ricki Jill! They’re perfect for those that prefer a softer palette for fall too 🍂🍁🍽
The bucket is a great find, and I am sure you will find many uses for it. I hope you and the hubby enjoy your lakeside tables.
Love the bucket. The whole table is just beautiful. So warm and inviting.
Such a lovely table and setting. I looked at the plaid plates, but now that I’ve seen them in action…
Just wonderful all around.
One thing I keep wondering-how many place settings do you usually have?
Thanks Marty. If I buy something seasonal in the way of salad or dinner plates these days, I usually only buy a set of four or two 🍽😀
Thank you for inviting us all as your virtual guests. We won’t eat much!!

What a fun tote! Love the hydrangeas in it. I wanted to steal some of my DIL’s whose are just starting to dry. I had better ask her for them before the snow comes. Looks so pretty across the water as always. What a setting!
Hi Mary, you really do set a beautiful table.
This setting of the table nestled under that spectacular tree and that iconic view is truly beyond beautiful Mary. Everything is just perfection, from that ever so cute plaid tin to the wonderful selection of mums and pumpkins on the table and that stone wall. Happy Monday Mary!

Absolutely love this gorgeous tablescape……….it just screams fall! Everything just comes together beautifully!
Oh my gosh, Mary! That plaid bucket is the bomb! (Does anyone say that any more???) And I’m in love with that bone handled flatware. We finally got some rain just in the knick of time before everything dried up!
Wow!!! Nothing could be finer than all that “fall by the lakeside”. I LOVE IT!!! Of course, the setting, as always, is my FAVORITE!!! I, too, love plaid, those plates are wonderful!!! Make me want to cozy up, relax and read! But still so hot and humid here in upstate SC. Wishing for cool, fall, weather soon!
I love plaid, too, especially this time of year. Beautiful table scape!

Mary I love your style! I have some brown and white dinnerware and am looking for flatware to use with it for the holidays. Please, can you tell me where you found your flatware? I have searched and not found anything similar. Thanks so much. Love your posts!
Thank you Karen! :) The flatware was discontinued several years ago. You might check Replacements or eBay to see if it pops up: Towle Seville Bone Handled Flatware.
