Pumpkins and Plaid Alfresco Fall Table

I’m lakeside with plaid and pumpkins, for an alfresco fall table!

I’m mad about plaid no matter what the season and I found this plaid metal bucket recently, to complement a set of fall plaid plates. I filled the plaid container with dried Limelight Hydrangeas for an easy centerpiece for the table.

Harvest Blessing Pumpkin salad plates are paired with plaid dinner plates, and layered on woven rattan chargers, joining bone-handled flatware, adding for some warm texture.

Pumpkins along the stacked stone wall of the patio, add some welcome seasonal fall color, framed with a bittersweet wreath, alongside a pot of tricolor mums.

And amber stemware provides a golden autumn glow with curved bell-shaped goblets.

Containers with ornamental kale, violas and mini pumpkins as filler provide some seasonal fall color.

We enjoyed some fall-like temperatures and beautiful weather for alfresco dining last week. It feels more like August than October this week, with 80 degrees temperatures along with humidity and rain from Tropical Drepression Nate. We needed the rain, but most went west and north of us, along with the tornadoes that spun through western NC and upstate SC.

Love it all. What a great find in that plaid picnic basket – a perfect match to the ensemble. And that’s quite an investment of pumpkins and mums on that wall. It’s gorgeous! I am crazy about the light at this point in the season, so pretty.
Nate just kinda blitzed right by us too – we were supposed to have rain today but it’s gone – pfft. Warm and humid, just sort of damp and yucky.
    Have a great week.

I’m loving your plaid container filled with hydrangeas, Mary. Of course, your tablecloth is the perfect Fall backdrop for your pretty dishes, goblets, napkins and flatware. You pumpkin filled wall, along with the Fall flowers makes for such a beautiful setting. Wish I was a guest!

Ahhh, just so lovely. The table is so beautiful and the lake view, so serene. I’ll have a piece of Pecan pie with a dollop of whipped cream, please while I sit and stare / enjoy the view. ♥

That table just wants me to say “Ahhhh”. So peaceful there by the lake. Here is West MI it has been very very dry and we are hoping for rain. It was a dry Summer and so far Fall has followed suit. I’m not complaining but my gardens are.

What a great find….I love the plaid bucket used in your centerpiece! BTW I did find the plates at Pier1 and they have the perfect shade of blush pink to match our kitchen island. I also love the little green pumpkin which matches our French door shade. I bought a set to enjoy throughout October and Thanksgiving.

    Have a great week!

Such a lovely table and setting. I looked at the plaid plates, but now that I’ve seen them in action…
    Just wonderful all around.
One thing I keep wondering-how many place settings do you usually have?

    • October 9, 2017 at 9:39 am

Thanks Marty. If I buy something seasonal in the way of salad or dinner plates these days, I usually only buy a set of four or two 🍽😀

What a fun tote! Love the hydrangeas in it. I wanted to steal some of my DIL’s whose are just starting to dry. I had better ask her for them before the snow comes. Looks so pretty across the water as always. What a setting!

Mary I love your style! I have some brown and white dinnerware and am looking for flatware to use with it for the holidays. Please, can you tell me where you found your flatware? I have searched and not found anything similar. Thanks so much. Love your posts!

    • November 5, 2018 at 5:51 pm

Thank you Karen! :) The flatware was discontinued several years ago. You might check Replacements or eBay to see if it pops up: Towle Seville Bone Handled Flatware.
