After weeks of frigid temperatures and snow, I’m in need of some flower therapy!
Last week’s snow quickly melted. . .
And while no doubt Mother Nature has more winter weather in store, our 60 degree temperatures this week have me dreaming of flowers.
I’ve been enjoying some flower therapy lately. . .

And despite the fact that the calendar page is turned to January, my thoughts have turned to spring.

I’ve been digging through the pages and back issues of my favorite garden magazine, Country Gardens.

I thought Oregon was the most beautiful place I’d ever seen Especially the coast. Until last summer I went to Alaska. Beauty everywhere that takes your breath away.
Mary, this is such a wonderful post. Inspiring and perfect for the middle of winter. I’m planning all my spring projects and planting a lot of seeds for starts, so this is more than uplifting. The most beautiful place I’ve been to is Carmel Beach, Carmel, CA it’s my ‘church’ but garden wise it would be Thanksgiving point in the middle of tulip season and cherry blossom blooming. Thanks for this post, it’s exactly what was needed.
Hi Mary: This post speaks to me so much because I can’t get enough flowers. I am a flower addict. Flowers and gardening are my true passion. I also love looking at photos of flowers in the middle of winter. I’m in Boston where we are experiencing record breaking cold temperatures. When I was in Bermuda I went to the Bermuda Botanical Garden. It features 36 acres of flowers, shrubs, and trees. The colors, scents, textures, and designs just blew me away. There were also a lot of beautiful birds there. It was stunningly gorgeous. Thing Spring!

I, too, have been to Butchart Gardens. What a magnificent place to spend a day!! As I stare out my kitchen window at all of the dead foliage, I cheer myself up by imagining what’s going on beneath the mulch. There is so much life that we can’t see but it’s there just waiting to peek through and bring a smile and a sigh of relief to those of us are ready to see some green!
Love your blog! The most beautiful place I have been probably is the shore of Lake Michigan where I live. The vistas and colors that meld together throughout the day are wonderful, especially at sunset.
I think the gardens at White River Gardens in Indianapolis are beautiful! Most of my inspirations and therapy come from your blog or gardening magazines.

Although the coastal gardens tend to be spartan, my most beautiful place is The Sea Ranch on the north coast of CA.
One of the most beautiful places is Jekyll Island, GA. It is beautifully maintained as a state park but there are 800 residences allowed.
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been was a village in Switzerland called Soglio. We toured the whole country and although it was all lovely, this village spoke to me. It was summer and the greens covered the mountain sides and fields like velvet. Wildflowers swayed in the breeze against the backdrop of church steeples and charming homes. I felt as if I had stepped into a Hans Christian Anderson story!

I too, have been to Butchart Gardens. Having grown up in Canada, it’s definitely a national treasure.
One place that I often revisit in my mind is Mahone Bay NS. Breathtakingly beautiful! Lunenburg NS (UNESCO Hertiage Site) is a close second.

When I looked at the before picture, compared to the beautiful transformation she made, I turned to my husband and commented, “It just goes to show what a woman can do when she gets a bee in her bonnet!” The visionary idea of taking something ugly and transforming it into something beautiful was a lesson in life for me!
The curviest road in San Francisco. The hydrangeas and climbing roses on the home in so many colors in late June is a sight to see.

The tulip gardens at Biltmore is my favorite….I have never been able to have tulips no matter where I live because the rabbits follow me….I guess it is good that I feed them!
So hard to pick a favorite place! There is so much beauty in every season – even winter (if you’re immersed in a leisure setting). I must say, though, Butchart Gardens is on my bucket list! My favorite place is on a lake in Canada. I am amazed by all the beautiful evergreens and flowers that grow on the shores of the lake and islands. Most are rock and that a tree can grow in a small crack in the rock is truly a miracle. The wildflowers that can survive are beautiful . I can’t wait each year for our vacation to come to go visit again.
This one is easy for me! Ever since I visited this magical place I knew I wanted to return someday…. Adare Manor in Ireland. Look it up. They have a fairy garden even. Too much goodness to even describe
I shall always remember the flowers, birds, and foliage of Oahu and Maui. But our home in Upstate New York remains my favorite beautiful place to be. Our Falls are glorious. We’re on a flight path for a large variety of birds, hawks, herons, and geese. Spring finds cars stopping to let geese and goslings straggle acrossed the streets. Winters can be harsh and downright cold, but then there’s that wonderful sight when ice coats every tree and branch and suddenly the sun comes out and they all shimmer like jewels!
I love the beauty in botanical gardens and the beauty of the seashore.

I have to agree with a few others the Biltmore Gardens in Asheville are beautiful. Interesting that you have featured Country Gardens today. I was just perusing my latest issue last night and thought that the potting sheds they were featuring don’t hold a candle to yours. I was actually considering writing to the editor and suggesting they “look into” your potting shed. Now from your post I see that they already have. I have subscribed for many years but somehow missed that.
When I saw your post asking for the most beautiful place I had ever seen my thoughts immediately went to Butchart Gardens. As I scrolled down I saw that was your choice too. So I will add another place of beauty. Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. The beauty of Gods handiwork there took my breath away.
Love all the gardens! The most beautiful place in the world to me is Lake Louise in Banff, Canada. Summer has loads of flowers and winter is absolutely magical with the snow. And, we were married there, so, holds a special place in my heart!

In addition, the beauty of the land of Enchantment (New Mexico) is also in my heart. As my dear departed knight in shining armor used to say, “You can take the girl out of New Mexico, but you can’t take New Mexico out of the girl!”
One of the most beautiful places here in the East is Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia in the spring and fall. And for a complete contrast in beauty , the Botanical Gardens outside Phoenix is fantastic. Thanks for your cheery pictures to brighten this dreary day in PA!
Visiting Monet’s garden in Giverney was a dream come true for me. The home & its gardens was like being immersed in his paintings and world.
For me — the wildflowers I enjoyed the 15 years I lived in Texas. The most memorable was a spring trip to the hill country. I wanted to see fields of wildflowers like I had seen in Texas magazines. Driving around, we saw a car turn down a dirt road and decided to follow suit. We were rewarded with fields of bluebonnets, just a sea of blue as far as you could see, an ocean of flowers. A spectacular memory!

Chicago Botanic Gardens has always been my source of inspiration. The walled English Garden, created by John Brooks, one of my favorite garden designers, is something everyone should see. But that is just the tip of the iceberg at Chicago Botanic Gardens.

The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is the Swiss Alps. It has such overwhelming beauty on an enormous scale while at the same time, the tiny alpine flowers on such a miniature scale. Before going there I’d had no idea of the multitude and variety of alpine flowers. And the gardens of the mountain homes overflowed with colorful flowers and neat vegetable rows. Truly a feast for the eyes at every level.
“Most” beautiful is impossible for me to discern … too much variety in the world to pick one! My quiet, happy place for the past few years is a small arboretum near our home (The Brenton Arboretum outside Dallas Center, IA) that is so peaceful and the beauty changes every day of every season. Thank you for the bright and lovely dose of the spring to come!

On my morning walks, I am always amazed by the displays of flowers and plantings in my own neighborhood. When I think of all the time and effort these neighbors put into keeping their yards beautiful all year long without the benefit of huge gardening budgets or battalions of gardeners its staggering. Their dedication to beautifying our world one suburban plot at a time is admirable. I enjoy their gardens everyday, in every season, and honestly think the home gardener is under-celebrated.
The Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio. Not only is it a beautiful p,ace to visit, they also do classes to teach others about gardening.

Good Morning Mary! I too love Country Gardens magazine! Love looking through all the pages of beautiful gardens. Speaking of beautiful. I live about 50 miles from Washington DC and there is not more beautiful place in the Spring than seeing the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom around the tidal basin with the monuments in the background. Just stunning!
I would initially say Spring in any flower shop or nursery or any holiday for that matter. My favorite flower is whatever is blooming. It stands to reason that the most beautiful place is where there are abundant blooms💐. In the spring though, in the nursery ,when my ambition and strength are somehow like superheroes, the garden in my mind, in my own yard is the most beautiful of all.

I have two places that usually take my breath away when I visit….Biltmore House in Asheville, NC, and The Atlanta Botanical Gardens which hosts some of the most beautiful sculpture and other displays you have ever seen through out the gardens. Their Orchid house is amazing!!!

I visited Butchart Gardens several years ago with friends and was absolutely amazed at its beauty! I live in SC, and I too have Spring fever after the warm weather this weekend. I would have to agree with you on Butchart Gardens. It’s been a few years since I was there but I still vividly remember all of the gardens, Actually all of Victoria is beautiful. When making coffee this morning I was looking out my kitchen window at my potting shed on this cold and rainy day wishing for spring. That’s my shed on the cover of CG magazine. Can hardly wait until the gardens around it are back in bloom.

Butchart Gardens. I have to agree with you; heaven on earth. And I love the butterfly display at Indianapolis: an enclosed garden where butterflies flit freely (say that five times!!!) and one can walk among them. So peaceful.

Once when we were in staying in Garmisch Germany sightseeing, my husband asked at the hotel front desk a good place to jog. When he came in from his run, he breathlessly declared that the rest of us must come see the trail. It was indeed an alpine meadowland dotted with fairytale cottages.
Oh I can’t wait to be able to start gardening again! We’ve had too many cold days here in Savannah. So many beautiful places I’ve seen and so hard to say just one. The many lovely and varied flower boxes you see on old Charleston homes comes to mind. Peeking through gorgeous wrought iron gates in Charleston and Savannah to admire secret gardens in Spring when everything is blooming. I could go on and on! Thank you for this thoughtful give away. Butchart Gardens are lovely but with spring being my favourite season I must say our visit to the Keukenhof Gardens in Holland was absolutely amazing. A short window of time to view ‘Everything Tulip’ and then some! Lovely flower therapy this morning thank you from snowy Canada!

Although the Northern California coast is spectacularly gorgeous, the Canadian Rockies is the most beautiful place I have ever been. We visited in winter and it was glorious.
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is NCS beach in Guam. It has a large cliff with palm trees and rare shells.
Thank you for your wonderful blog and your talents. For me, every flower I see is special so I can’t pick just one place, but I was in Canada last year and enjoyed several parks that were beautiful. I do have Hawaii on my Bucket List…I hear the flowers there are breathtaking.
Oh, MY! After reading your blog this morning and seeing all of these gorgeous pics, I am in a “Springtime” mode…..anxious to get my hands in the dirt! As for my favorite garden, there are several starting with one right down the road from my house, Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC….absolutely beautiful. Also, the Biltmore Gardens should be on everyone’s bucket list. Several years ago, I was fortunate to be able to attend the tulip and flower festival in Holland which was breath taking……tulips as far as the eye could see! But, my absolute favorite flower garden would have to be my Dad’s rose garden! He probably had 50+ roses which he nurtured and cared for and we would always find vases of cut roses through out my parent’s home as well as peonies, and other flowers. Needless to say, Dad’s rose garden was my favorite garden!
For manmade beauty I would have to vote for the Keukenhoff in Holland but for the hand of God Yosemite in California took my breath away!
Good morning! The rain this morning reminds me that spring is on the way even though we will have more winter weather in Michigan! For me the most beautiful spot is where the beach roses meet the sea on Nantucket. The Grey Lady is usually surrounded by foggy dew every morning and a walk to the beach is the best way to start the day with beauty. I treasure every moment I’m there walking with Mother Nature at her best!
Good morning Mary, here in Chicago our snow has also melted and it’s raining which gives me spring fever but I know we have a long way to go! There are many beautiful places in the area that I love to visit for their beautiful gardens Cantigny Park, Grant Park’s rose garden, Morton Arboretum but I really enjoy waking up every morning in the summer and sitting on my patio with a cup of coffee and my Coutry Gardens magazine and enjoy my own garden that I work so hard for and living in Chicago not enough time to enjoy! Thanks for taking me back to summer!

This is truly my favorite post of your’s. I woke up to snow this morning in Utah and your display of flowers are enlightening and invigorating. My horoscope this morning said that I am going to make plans to visit a faraway place and you nailed it! I lost my husband last June and we always wanted to see the Butchart Gardens. Well, I am going to start making plans today for that trip. If I had to choose the most beautiful place I have visited, there would be two. Zion National Park because it is so awe-inspiring, but the most beautiful is Bora Bora. It is so serene, and the colors of the sand, sea, flowers and sky are too vivid to seem real.
I love Bellingrath Gardens near Mobile, Alabama. And a close second is Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. Both are beautiful in their own ways.
What beautiful pictures! In our garden club we visited a home in Mebane, North Carolina. If it could grow in our zone… it was there on the grounds and even some Plants that should not thrive in zone 7. I so enjoy you posts and would love to be a WINNER!!
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is a resort in Palm Springs. I can’t remember the name of it but we took a walk every morning on a beautiful path and then while floating in the pool we could see beautiful snow capped mountains in the distance.
Oh yeah! You struck a soft spot in my heart. We went to Victoria Britsh Colunbia a few years back and while there visited the wonderful Butchart Gardens. Words can’t describe them. I live in Colorado but am a North Carolina native. I LONG for those years of gardening there as we can’t start planting here until May 15. And lets of flowers I could have there I cannt have here. They just dont thrive in this sweet, hard packed soil. However that doesn’t keep me from gardening. Bring on the shovel, hoe and rake.
I love the rolling hills and farmlands of the Ohio Amish countryside in October. But during winter I seek the local greenhouse with its giant blooming bougainvillea and the tulips and daffodils and geraniums all in bloom. I love the smell of the flowers and the dirt
A couple of beautiful places I have been are the Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska and I was fortunate to travel to the tulip fields in Washington state last spring and seeing fields full of blooming tulips was amazing.

Today….I’m going to say the most beautiful gardens I’ve seen recently (manmade!) would be “Longwood Gardens” in PA. The most beautiful place…well…Buchart, Amalfi Coast, etc. etc. I am so a “visual” person and I can truly say, I see the “most beautiful” in…every day..clouds, sunrise/sunset, birds, endless. Love me some Country Gardens! Have subscribed for years. One of the most beautiful places for me is the Botanical Gardens in St. Louis. Beautiful thru all seasons! That being said…..my heart is on the shores of northern Lake Michigan. We have a small summer cottage that is where my heart & soul live. Beauty beyond description!
My very first thought was the most amazing Butchart Gardens! As that’s your pick I decided to choose from my own backyard…number one favorite place to visit not 20 minutes from my home is the lovely gardens at McMenamin’s Edgefield (AKA The Poor Farm) in Troutdale, Oregon. A pair of artistic brothers purchased the historic grounds twenty some years ago and created a place to lodge, dine, wander…the many gardens provide produce for the chefs and idealic walking paths for the guests (think The Secret Garden!). Thank you for bringing some flower therapy to my very rainy and cold Oregon morning! Oh Mary, this is really difficult decision, most beautiful place The Taj Mahal in India especially because of the heartbreaking poverty surrounding it at the time of my visit fifty years ago. My favorite garden in our country is a tie between The Biltmore Gardens and the Huntington Botanical Garden in Pasadena, CA. This spring I visited the Sarah Duke Gardens in Chapel Hill which was established to improve a debris filled ravine near Duke University by building terraced gardens. The Elizabethian Gardens on Roanoke Island, NC is a small but beautiful garden worth a visit, especially in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. I apologize for the length of my comment but your post sent me wandering through my memories of visiting beautiful gardens.
I am from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and have also enjoyed the beautiful Butchart Gardens. To my amazement the desert in bloom in the spring in Arizona is amazing and should not be overlooked.

OH my..I have been to numerous gorgeous places state side and international too. Underwater the Florida keys and Caribbean is like an underwater flower garden of fish, coral, fans, sponge..magic. So is the entire Yosemite valley and Lake Tahoe, both were bursting with a plethora of wild flowers when we were visiting. And, San Francisco the city and botanical garden. The mejestic great smokie mountains. IN particular Cade’s Cove. Sanibel island, captiva and Anna Maria islands of Florida. The national seashore..so many many places. My moms back yard on her lake..is heaven. Tropicals and flowers fruit trees, birds, fox, a gator or two.

I love the inspiration I get visiting the Chicago Botanic Gardens in all seasons.
Hampton Plantation which is a state park thats located just a short drive from Myrtle Beach, SC. It’s an old Antebellum house where Archibald Rutledge was South Carolina’s poet Laureate. In addition, he planted the beautiful live oak trees that surround the property. One oak tree is known as the Washington Oak Tree because they considered cutting it down in order to be able to see their race track better from the portico. When they asked George Washington about it when he stopped there on his Southern Tour, he replied that he liked the tree. So, the tree was saved and has been referred to as being his tree…a tree that still graces us with its beauty since before 1791. My husband and I visited in December and we were able to view beautiful flowering Cameilla’s! Mother Nature always amazes me because it’s hard to believe such glorious, vibrant flowers can produce in the winter! His daughter, sketched flowers on the property during her lifetime and the state park has made four different sketches into prints as a way to raise money for the state park. I bought all four and had them framed at Hobby Lobby. They are beautiful in the guest bedroom and I enjoy seeing them displayed in their as I enter. These beautiful prints serve as a reminder of a wonderful day spent at the park with my husband! :)
Spent yesterday in my garden getting my beds all spruced up and planting the first flowers of the year. Getting ready for spring. Love your post and the little book. Pictures are glorious. We’ve traveled this country all last year. So many beautiful places I can’t pick just one. But you’ve inspired me. Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs, AR during tulip time is stunning. But if wilderness is your thing, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico has backcountry views that are breathtaking! There are wildflowers in those secluded vistas that are very unlike what we are accustomed to here in Arkansas.

The most beautiful… floral-wise would be the Camas Centennial Marsh in Camas County Idaho. Lived nearby and enjoyed the bloom of the Camas Lilies every Spring for 12 Years. Miss the seasons there, but there are so many beautiful spots throughout our U.S.

The most beautiful “place” I’ve ever been was the Rose Bowl Parade– a bucket list dream come true. It was a sensory overload of the most vivid colors and dazzling floral combinations I will ever see.
Butchart Gardens is an easy ferry ride away from Seattle and is spectacular. But my favorite garden is Tina Dixon’s garden in Bothell, WA. She’s a container designer with many awards and her former garden north of Seatlle is truly breathtaking.

The most beautiful place I have ever seen is Hawaii. Oh my goodness, I wish everyone could go there and experience the beauty of that state! The photos just don’t do it justice!! The flowers there are absolutely gorgeous! I had never seen plumeria or torch ginger or bird of paradise. Hibiscus was just everywhere, not to mention gardenias and orchids.

One of my favorite places is to stand among the redwoods in coastal California. Their magnificence and age makes your soul wander to all of the wonders they must have witnessed. It truly is a magical place.
Well my two places are already spoken for, but Butchart Gardens and the vivid colored flowers of Alaska. So my third would have to be the Bluebonnet fields of central Texas in the spring time.
Oh, my—-this is just the post my soul was in need of. I had to go to two of Katie Daisy’s sites from here, before I even finished your post. And, the calendar is sold out—darn, so then I popped back, one of the joys of the ‘back’ button…and relished in the rest of your post: the shed, the magazines, the places, the prints.
So in love with it all. Most beautiful place, hard to say, but, we loved Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville. Set in an old estate—it’s a great combination of architecture and gorgeous plantings. Chicago Botanical Gardens is lovely, but it’s just not mature…though they try.

My husband and I visited Butchart Gardens several years ago before going on an Alaska cruise. We both agree that it is the most beautiful garden we have ever seen. We live in Atlanta and can’t believe the freezing weather we’ve had lately. I have never been more ready for spring and the flowers it will bring.
Merrick Parkway in Connecticut is the most beautiful place. The smell of pine accompanies you as you drive along it. In the Autumn it is breath taking.

I used to get country gardens for years and have saved every one of them. I had so many that I let my subscription go but I really miss it. Would love to win it!! Loved this post, I’m so excited for spring to warm our hearts. A beautiful place to visit in California is the Ananda Village in the Sierras. They plant and display over 5,000 tulips, provide herbal tea, and scones as you walk their grounds. They plant new bulbs from Holland each year.

We traveled through many areas in Oregon several years ago – putting 1000 miles on a rental car. The variety of terrain, both mountains, forests, and ocean, and the beauty of the state puts it right up there with the most beautiful place I have been. There are many beautiful places I haven’t been that would probably rival that, though!
My Mom and I visited England, she needed a rest from caring for my Dad through a very long illness. I fell in love with the whole country but the Lake District was so beautiful tears ran down my face a few times. Spring flowers were blooming, lambs playing in the fields and swans swimming in the lakes. It was like a fairy tale.
I love your potting shed; it’s so perfect! Especially with that beautiful wreath with all the flowers. The most beautiful place I can think of that I’ve been is Filoli Gardens in Woodside, CA. They filmed at least part of Dynasty there. It’s amazing to think that people actually owned the house and entire grounds privately at one time. Some day I’d love to visit Butchart Gardens though; a long time ago, I saw a photo of it that had pots of hanging begonias that I tried to replicate on my patio. Not quite the same effect, LOL. Without a doubt the most beautiful garden is “Ohme Gardens” located in Sunnyslope Washington. I love these gardens full to the brim with reflecting ponds, path ways and beauty. A true evergreen oasis, in a barren land. Started as a private garden by Herman and Ruth Ohme. There was no water, so they would take the rip to the river to fill buckets with water. The story of the love for gardens is well worth reading. Even though Herman and Ruth are gone, their children turned the garden over to the state to make sure it would continue for many to love.
If you are ever in this area, do visit this amazing place, it will restore your soul.

The most beautiful place I feel is the Jewel Box in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri. They have seasonal displays of flowers/plants, and at Christmas gorgeous poinsettias. In the spring they feature tulips and daffodils! Absolutely stunning!!!!

What I thought of were the gorgeous tulip gardens in The Netherlands and all of the beaches I have visited.
I absolutely loved the bright colors of Greece, the blue sky against the whitewashed walls of the houses and churches. But the most beautiful gardens I have seen would have to be Longwood Gardens: acres and acres of color-themed gardens, creative treehouses, an orchid greenhouse, and more! This Canadian girl thinks one of the most beautiful places is anywhere in the Rocky mountains…Glacier National Park, Montana, Banff National Park, Alberta. Lucky for us Ontario folks we have a son who lives on the west coast.

As I am not well traveled and don’t know of the Gardens mentioned here which, I’m sure are quite beautiful! But, I have been West and while I have seen many pretty Gardens, for me, there is no more breathtaking place like Yosemite National Park. While there, we pulled into a lookout with a view of Half Dome that took our breath away. We sat on a stone wall and took in that view for well over 2 hours! I said to my hubby, when you see this, you know there is a God!! I will never forget it and want to visit again!! One of the most beautiful places that i have visited was Bellingrath Gardens in Alabama. The Asian American Garden there was particularly serene and lovely.
How do you choose just one most beautiful place….there are so very many! I’ll choose the most beautiful place I’ve been in the past 6 months…if I say a year I won’t be able to narrow it down! Last fall we spent some time on the back roads of southwestern Virginia & southern West Virginia. Oh my the mountain top views are some of the best in the world.

Great giveaway! I would have a hard time choosing between Maui and Europe! The view from the Alps in Austria was take your breath away beautiful! The huge flowing window boxes on the homes in Germany were the most awesome flowers I have ever seen. But the sights on the Road to Hana were nothing short of amazing! I don’t often take the time to read all the comments that your posts generate, but these comments were very interesting. Still so many places to visit! I love Elf’s Chasm in the Grand Canyon, although my two visits to Butchart gardens were enchanting. I would say that our National Parks are an enormous gift to the citizens of the United States with both their stunning beauty, and the foresight of previous generations to set aside places of solitude. One of my passions is supporting my husband’s fight to keep the Gila River in southwest New Mexico from being damaged by a diversion dam that would would supply water to only a very few ranchers and another is gardening. It is always a challenge to garden in New Mexico, so I love visiting your blog with its lovely garden shed.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen is Carolyne Roehm’s Weatherstone home in Connecticut. My mother & I were fortunate enough to tour her gardens & meet her. We oohed & ahhed everywhere we looked. We were surrounded by beauty, nature & bliss. If you’d like to take a peek you may enjoy her book Carolyne Roehm at Home in the Garden.
What a treat to visit, I can only imagine the beauty! I have her books, both At Home in the Garden and Flowers which is a feast for the eyes.
A must see in Pennsylvania are Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. Built by the Dupont Family, it is a magical wonderland of flowers that change with each season. This Christmas, I was most in awe of the beautiful display of the fountains inside the Conservatory. There was a design composed of floating granny smith apples, cranberries, and guilded walnuts. Hopefully, you can get an idea by looking at my gravatar. Looking forward to spring.
One of my favorite places is Callaway Gardens, near Pine Mountain Georgia. It is a place where you can connect to the great outdoors! I love to rent a bike and ride through the forest stopping at many wonderful attractions along the way. The beautiful butterfly center, conservatory, historic church, vegetable gardens, golf, and so much more. A true sanctuary to enjoy God’s blessings. Love all your posts…great give-a-way!

The most beautiful garden for me was at my family home we recently moved from. My husband and young son gathered the field stones in the spring,hauling them in his beat up pick up truck back to the house. The stones were laid by my husband with the help of our 3 children over the course of the summer in between my husband being sick with cancer, the children carved their initials in the mortor. A beautiful waterfall and pond were the last project to complete our oasis. The flowers grow as did the children, the peace and sernity also grow to cradle my family in the devastation that cancer causes. Graduations, birthdays and all of lifes celabrations took place in the garden oasis that we built, and as the children one by one left the nest….when i missed them terribly..all i had to do was look for there names they carved in the mortor. The sound of bubbling water and the coolness of the fieldstone when they were wet under my bare feet and the scent of the wind blowing from the flower beds,all gifts from god along with the peace it gave my husband to continue his many battles with cancer. My favorite garden.
These flowers make me long for Springtime here in NC. I love Biltmore Gardens and Conservatory and the Sarah Duke Gardens…..I have to include the Overseas Hwy drive to Key West and the Outer Banks of NC. I could name a few more, so hard to choose just one!
I have not been to many of the most beautiful places on earth and your blog has inspiried me to create a bucket list of gardens and conservatories to visit. For me, in the middle of a Minnesota winter, the most beautiful place I have been is the winter flower show in the sunken garden of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St Paul. In contrast to the white we have been seeing for weeks neverending, it is a riot of color and aliveness.
I love our yard in the spring, when the redbud trees are blooming along with the irises and peonies. The grass is green. Just thinking about it makes me smile.
I love the gardens on Mackinac Island. I’ve looked at some of the comments. We sure have an abundance of beautiful places we are able to enjoy. Hope to add many to my bucket list. The book looks delightful, but it seems to be sold out.
Beautiful Biltmore gardens both outside and inside the Conservatory are outstanding. But when I stand at my 87 year old Mother’s kitchen window and gaze out over her flower garden of beautiful knock out roses lining her pristine vegetable garden that she plants each spring with such love, pride, and care, how could I choose any grander acreage? Her heart and soul is in the soil. There could be nothing more beautiful to me.
While I have enjoyed a few formal gardens, the flower garden I transformed from a plain grass back yard has been the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The beds were tilled by a neighbor, and I edged them with old bricks lugged back from an abandoned house site. Another neighbor offered priceless advice and shared treasures from her own garden. As my garden grew to maturity, I was constantly reminded of love for my neighbors and the beauty in my own back yard.
The tulip gardens in Holland are so beautiful and relaxing to wander through but here in the states The Biltmore House in NC is a gem to behold.

Oh my goodness!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever been on here with so many posts!! I guess we all need some “flower therapy” 😊. I’ve seen many beautiful gardens, but I think my favorite place was walking the streets of Nantucket with my Mom. The hydrangeas along white picket fences and tall cosmos in the front of cute cottages by the water are a very special memory for me, especially now that my Mom is gone 💕.

I love the lavender farms on the Olympic Islands in WA.
Maybe not spectacular but my favorite is the home of my next door neighbor. He was a 95 year old retired farmer who harvested flower seed every fall and sowed them in big beds in the spring. The zinnias and sunflowers were especially amazing. I learned so much from him.
The Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT in Disneyworld is the most beautiful place I have been. The gardeners transform the usually beautiful park into absolutely stunning gardens and displays that tempt me and inspire me to do better in my own garden.
I lived in Texas for many years and always loved traveling to the Hill Country in spring to see all the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes! Just gorgeous!
Hi Mary! I have been to Butchart Gardens, but it was close to dusk when my late Beloved and I were there as an excursion from our cruise. I need to go back and see it one day. I have to say that the Dallas Arboretum is such an oasis of beauty and close to home!

Have had the opportunity to see so many beautiful gardens such as Cheekwood in TN, bluebonnets in Texas, Bellingrath Gardens in Alabama, Longwood Gardens and more. . Seeing Cypress Gardens with so many beautiful flamingos in Florida over 50 years ago is still so fresh in my memory. Maui took my breath away but one of the most outstanding memories took place when I was about 10 or 12, with my sister walking on our small family farm. The field did not have corn planted that year and the large field was a sea of color. Larkspurs of every color were there and where they came from I do wonder. We gathered a large bouquet to take home. We walked all over the farm looking for wildflowers often, finding a few yellow violets once. Such fun!
The most beautiful place to me is a tie. One is a parcel of family-owned land near our home town of Stockholm, Sk. A ravine runs through it and is abundant with wild flowers, berries + wildlife. It’s the most special place in the world, to me. My other favourite is at the top of the valley where “our” lake is (Round Lake, Saskatchewan). From this place you can see the entire lake – the hillside is gorgeous with native grasses and undisturbed trees and other plants. There’s no place better for a great view.

The beauty of the Colorado Rockies, particularly Rocky Mountain National Park is breathtaking. All the natural florals in the landscape as well as lakes and ponds and rivers. And trees especially the golden aspen of autumn.

I think my dream place, which has been the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, has to be Ireland. I went on a trip in 2004, and it was truly like many individuals had described to me before I actually went there “Paradise” on Earth. However, and although it was a dream come true, I think that until you actually go places, the most beautiful place for each one of us will always and undoubtedly be–home, because home is where the heart is.
I haven’t seen a garden that I haven’t loved! In Fallston, Maryland, on a country side road there is a farm that has cut flowers that you can buy. The field of many types just amazes me. So enjoy stopping and picking up my friend a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. Another place would be Holland, Michigan with rows and rows of tulips! Thanks for a chance of these wonderful prizes!

The flowers are surreal as is the temperature, soil, random rain showers and the lush roadside waterfalls…..we can’t get enough and will be traveling back this year for our 25th wedding anniversary with our kiddos in tow. (Love them too much to leave them behind) The most beautiful place for me is where ever I am with my family. My husband and I visited the beautiful coast of Maine last October and so enjoyed visiting the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor. We can’t wait to go back! We’re also fortunate to live so close to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Chapel Hill and always enjoy our visits there.

The most beautiful gardens I’ve ever visited are the Bodnant Gardens in Wales. I live in sunny Southern California but I’ve made two separate trips to these gardens because they are so incredibly breathtaking and inspiring! Highly recommended a visit if you are ever in the area 🌸🌷🌺😊
What a great idea! I love visiting Hearst Castle in Central California. The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens, with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean.
I would have to say the Biltmore gardens and Conservatory are quite stunning. I visited in late summer but would love to go in the Spring, Fall, and at Christmastime!
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is my small backyard garden in Brampton Ontario the day my grandson and I harvested our container carrots!
What a wonderful give away- sure to cheer the lucky winners up! I would say the most beautiful place I’ve ever been is Murren, Switzerland. Like being in a fairytale. Butchart Gardens would certainly make my top ten list though! A beautiful place that I would like to visit again. Next time without kids!
