Floral Friday: Spring in Bloom on the Porch

DSC_0649.1-001

Happy Friday! I’m welcoming March with a ‘spring in my step’ for a little indoor ‘gardening’ and blooms on the porch!

A special thanks to Shirley at Housepitality Designs for Floral Friday and for providing me with some much-needed flower therapy.  You’ll find the links for more floral inspiration from my blogging friends at the bottom of this post.

With the calendar page turned to March, we’re closer to spring’s arrival~ a cause for celebration!

DSC_0562.1

A “Hello Spring” pillow greeted me at HomeGoods last week, with wellies sprouting flowers and providing a little indoor gardening inspiration on the porch.

I’m thinking outside the vase with watering cans blooming with flowers. . .

And a pair of garden gloves (too pretty to use!) provide some welcome flower therapy.

While spring is still weeks away by the calendar, our unseasonably warm February and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s have the daffodils and trees bursting into bloom.

A pair of wellies are blooming with a combination of hydrangeas, alstroemeria and spray roses. . .

And butterflies represent a metamorphosis of winter to spring.

Can you tell I’m all aflutter with thoughts of an early spring?

Spring nesting season is here, with the arrival of birds and nests. . .

Butterflies. . .

Bunnies and tulips. . .

And beginning of gardening season.

Hi Mary. I am not sure what happened but I am not getting any pictures at all . Did click on one of the blogs attached and theirs is displaying. Will check back to see if it is just a glitch. Hugs to you!

Mary, your porch is a beautiful welcome to bring on spring. The colorful wellies and watering can are bursting with beautiful blooms. And yes, the garden gloves are much too pretty to play in the dirt. The plates are gorgeous with birds and nests. The birds have been so active around here and that means spring is definitely coming soon. Gorgeous flower therapy that I needed. Have a beautiful weekend!

Ok now I feel crazy as I clicked on your entry at bottom and now there are pictures. So sorry. Technology is wonderful when it works appropriately. Or is it the operator?

    Hi Mary,
I’m so glad I found your site! I think my favorite thing is the photos of the floral wellies with their colorful bouquets. Second is the tray you found with the birds and spring theme. Wow, such wonderful pictures as well! I’ve got to get moving for the day, but I’m leaving this OPEN on my computer screen, to come back to tonight. Then I get to check out all the interesting finds running on the right side of the screen. Thanks for sharing!

Well, my heart is all a “flutter” over your porch that is so beautifully ushering in the joys of Spring! You are so right by your statement of thinking outside the watering can as your creations are always amaze us. I think if I picked up a book that did not have your “name” under the photos, I would know that they were yours, as I could spot your “signature” creations anywhere! We thank you for always making us smile!! Happy, happy that you are part of our happy bi-monthly flower group!

Mary, that is so beautiful! The pillow is adorable. These unusually warm days are making me itch to get my screen porch set up. Trying to restrain myself because our last frost date is April 15 here in Upstate SC, plus all the yellow pollen is yet to come. Till then, I will satisfy myself with your beautiful pictures!

I walked into Home Goods earlier this week and spotted the same pillow and grabbed it right away for my porch!! You have such a magical way of decorating. it’s just so warm and welcoming. My only question is where do you you store all this seasonal stuff, off season? I’m bursting at the seams and can’t find anything! Not to mention, hubby is losing patience with all my “seasonal stuff!” They don’t understand! LOVE your blog. Simply the best!

  19. March 2, 2018 at 9:46 am

Mary, what a most perfectly coordinated bouquet in that pair of wellies – wow! Your posts always inspire me, and today’s reminded me of a bunny friend tucked away that I must pull out (the upward sniffing one). I can’t even begin to tell you how happy March makes me, and your porch is so inviting of the season. Have a great weekend.

So jealous of your weather. I am sitting here watching the snow swirl. Can’t wait for warmer weather here in PA.

  25. March 2, 2018 at 2:12 pm

Mary, this certainly has me dreaming of warmer days. We have sunshine today, but it is very nippy. I love the MKC watering can. I almost purchased one like this recently. I have the tiny one in this series. Perfect excuse to order it for flowersl. Keep thinking butterflies and blooms. Spring will be soon! Think of you every day. I know your heart aches. Sending you big hugs.

  36. March 5, 2018 at 11:16 am

Gorgeous flower arrangements as usual. I particularly love the one in the Wellies. You’ve totally inspired me for Spring!

  37. March 5, 2018 at 3:21 pm

Despite our dreary weather, YOU make me want to dash out on the freezing porch and pull my evergreens off—and drag out the tulips! Grins, lovely!

  38. March 6, 2018 at 8:28 am

I am looking at your post early on a Tuesday morning, and it is such a ray of sunshine on a dreary, cold day here! Those wellies filled with bright colorful flowers are such a joy. I love this new Floral Friday group and am excited to see all the wonderful florals. My only problem is that this house that we moved to had no flowers whatsoever, I did a lot of planting last year and I see some crocuses and daffodils popping up, but we are so far behind here in the north. I will have to continue to just admire your gorgeous floral presentations!!!
