Dog Sitting and Sitting Dogs

Happy Monday, I hope you had a good week! I took the week off to paws and play while dog sitting for my sister-in-law’s pups while she was away. Maddie & Zoe, are 5 and 3-year-old Maltipoos, and together were too frenetic for Gracie, who is 13.

Gracie says she was outnumbered and a week seemed like a dog year.  🐾

When I say I was ‘dog sitting’ I mean literally sitting. Maddie is only content when you’re right next to her on the sofa or she’s in your lap. . .

But who can resist that sweet face and 4 pounds of puppy love?

Zoe can’t get enough attention. . .

And is tireless and never still.

Up and down. . .

And she’s always stirring things up. . .

Good thing she’s so cute! 🐾

Gracie says thank goodness they come with treats. 🐾🐾

It was raining cats and dogs while they were here so we had a lot of indoor time and were happy to see the sunshine when it finally returned and we could play outside.

Poor Gracie, she must have felt like an elderly relative. Will need lots of attention when she is back to being Queen dog of the house. They are soooooo cute though.

They are so cute! I know what it’s like to pet, sit as I’m a pet sitter for other people in their homes when they go on vacation! I enjoy animals very much! Thank you for sharing!

Maddie and Zoe are adorable pups, Mary, but I can just about read Gracie’s mind in the pictures. I’ll bet that Gracie is happy to have you all to herself now!

They are all adorable! I love the “when are they leaving” look on Gracie’s face. It’s great that you babysat the young “kids”. Nothing makes a trip better than knowing your fur babies are being loved and well taken care of.

So cute! They look a lot like my Daisy who is part Shih-tzu, part Bichon. And sounds like Maddie, never content unless she is in your lap. LOL

Poor Gracie! Bet she really missed the quiet company of Chloe on this ‘cousin’ visit of these two. But they are all so cute together! My girls’ dogs – cousins, one of which we call Grandma Edie – were all boarded together this past week while we were away. They couldn’t wait to get back to their kids. They watched on videos each and every day. :)

What precious fur babies. I know Gracie had a good time, but was probably ready to have Mommie all to herself. Not to mention getting some well needed shut-eye. :-)

  35. April 30, 2018 at 7:46 pm

This definitely made my day! Those faces are so adorable, how could you not want to love these sweeties. I smiled reading about Gracie ‘s reaction, Sadie would be the same. She isn’t used to sharing the attention nor is she interested in frisky games. She prefers to just snuggle up nearby as we go about our day.

I am sure Gracie was ready for a vacation when Maddie and Zoe, filled with boundless energy, went home…the three of them are just the cutest…and I am sure you were ready for a little “put your feet up time” too. And, love, love the quote by Roger Caras….so incredibly true!…I have to say that I so love the first image….Gracie’s expression and body language says it all! Glad you had a good time with the fur babies!

    Bonjour Mary,

Adorables vos petits chiens…Je comprends pourquoi vous craquez lorsque vous voyez une petite tête aussi mignonne ! Leurs yeux sont remplis de malice….Trop “choux”

  39. May 1, 2018 at 6:53 am

Oh goodness, so much cuteness!!! Our shih tzu, Sherlock Bones, used to come find me at 3pm and stare at me until I would go sit with him on the couch :) Dogs are just as demanding as toddlers!! I know your SIL knew her precious pups would be in very loving hands with you!

Dog sitting is such a wonderful service to provide! It probably clarified in your own mind why you don’t have 3 dogs, and it’s a reminder of how older dogs can be a lot easier to have around. Those young ones need a lot of activity and fussing over! Senior dogs are preferred in our family.

How adorable to see all the fur babies. I’m sure Gracie appreciated the rest after the little ones left. Thank you for sharing.

Those faces! I’ve done dog sitting and my 13 year old chihuaha always breathse a sigh of relief when they go home! They all look like angels!

  44. June 21, 2018 at 4:21 pm

They are very small and cute.
