While garden flowers are waning by the end of July in the extreme summer heat, tabletop gardening provides a flower fix, no watering required!
I planted some Garden Bouquets for some
blooming tabletop fun and flower therapy . . .
Genus: Windsor Ware, Species: Johnson Brothers, Cultivar: ‘Garden Bouquet’
A ‘Fresh Flower Market, Seeds, Stems, and Blooms’ sign was freshly picked from a favorite antique mall and provided a little tabletop inspiration in the window ledge of the Potting Shed, propped on terra cotta pots.
My Floral Friday Dish Garden is blooming with an assortment of potted plants, ideal for indoor container gardening. . .
Fern, mini roses, ivy and kalanchoe and providing birds a place to nest.
Johnson Brothers ‘Sheraton’ is another blooming favorite in my garden of dishes.
Endless Summer Hydrangeas have faded to softer muted greens and are joining Charmelia from the grocery store for some Ball jar bouquets. . .
As well as in a creamer and watering can.
Johnson Brothers ‘Staffordshire Bouquet’ with its brown-tinted multicolored blooms is a perennial favorite and beloved pattern. . .
. . . providing a transition and a hint of fall to come, my favorite season!
And a garden glove is filled with a napkin and blooming with vintage flatware for a little tabletop gardening fun.

Another lovely presentation, Mary. Beautiful china, as always… I, too, am ready for fall to be here…a day or two of cooler temps would be nice, and football…..many thanks for sharing…
You know how much I love your gardening shed… it was the FIRST shed out there before the trend began!
Every time I come back you style it so beautifully all over again!!
Good morning Mary-You provided a lovely post for us to enjoy with our breakfast. Thank you for giving me my love of dishes “fix”❣️ The floral Friday dish garden is beautiful & thriving. Happy Monday! Clara 💐
How refreshing!!! We too have florals wanning due to the heat but the tomatoes, peppers, Zucchini, corn are flourishing..my tomato plants look like trees this year and my romas are huge … we froze 20 1lb bags of corn last week plus gave away 7 dozen ears and more to come….and have baked 10 loaves of Zucchini bread…therefore, my flowers will probably suffer for awhile with all the veggies to be tended…your post is a welcome site…very pretty! I have always loved Johnson Brothers China..one of my favs is The Friendly Village..I should have bought it years ago when it was not so pricey..keep the pretties coming!!
Mary, thank you for a Monday morning dose of flower therapy! I love the fresh flower market sign, it sets the tone for your blooming tabletop. Johnson Brothers dishware will always be a favorite of mine. Will see you Friday❤️
So delightful Mary! You can grow flowers anywhere, even on your plates :) Love the cute sign and adore that pale green watering can…so cool and refreshing!

I keep telling my sisters we need a road trip to the Depot. Life somehow gets in the way…..
Love your mix in the potting shed, always a feast for the eyes.
I honestly can’t believe how good my garden is looking for the end of July. I even grew some grass in patches these past two weeks. Lots of rain……
I love the garden glove ideas–and I always love your posts! Thanks for a bright spot in my boring, rainy, blue, dismal Monday in Virginia! I feel better!
Mary, I know each post takes much time and energy on your part and want you to know that this reader truly appreciates it! This is lovely for the eyes because, yes, the flowers are waining as July transitations into August. Lovely details and clever presentation with all. Happy Monday!
I was at an estate sale last weekend and must confess I stole you idea with vintage flatware. If you ever stop by I can serve you with some mismatched floral flatware!
I love it all Mary from your beautiful plates to your dish garden in your shed! So clever with your genus, species and cultivar. :) Thanks for the beauty and sharing your creativity. ♥
Beautiful flower table scape in your “Potting Shed”! Love the Johnson Bros, dishes. I have the Windsorware pattern in my shed. I saw pillows today at ROSS store that would almost match the pattern. I think I’ll go back tomorrow and purchase. Love my flowers anyway they are displayed! Always enjoy your shed and garden, Mary!
Mary, love seeing all your beautiful blooms inside your shed! I have a set of salt and pepper shakers in the Staffordshire Bouquet pattern if you would like to have them. I don’t have anything else to match and ran across them several years ago. We were dry as a bone until we started getting rain a few days ago. Hope you are getting some, too!
I too have a few Johnson Brother plates, I love them. You have inspired me to try a design with them. I wish I could find bird finials like the one in your arrangement. Thanks!
Always a joy to look at your posts. Vernon Kilns of California, made a pattern similar with a rope edge during the 1940’s, also. I think everyone made a version of these…you have a great selection.
Thanks for the inspiration. I like the terra cotta pots upended and the nosegay in the frog. I have a small collection of metal frogs that were my mother’s. Very pretty table.
What’s not to love with this pretty display, Mary? The dreamy dishes, your dish garden, the napkins in gardening gloves, and your pretty sign, beautify my favorite potting shed.
What a beautiful way to spend your day. The shed garden and plates and just all of it feel so relaxing to me. Would you mind terribly showing me what those placemats look like? I love how the edges look. I don’t think I’ve seen these before. I may have to stop in at some of the places you’ve listed and see what they have. I don’t particularly want a shed but more of an area where I can have a private arbor or small gazebo garden. I’ve acquired many shutters and old windows that I am considering to build a small outdoor sort of greenhouse/gazebo out of. Your shed and garden and the love you’ve shown has me inspired to get moving on my own. Just beautiful!
You made my morning ! I live in a non-inspiration home and through your site I became happy creative and calm thank you !!!
Marie feels happy inspired 😘😘🌻😍😍 everything about your site inspires me and creates a fire in my belly ..
The Garden Bouquet will be our new spring china. I loved seeing how you used it and set the table. I can’t wait to set a pretty table with this pretty china. Thanks for the inspiration. I love your shed. Old or new post, it’s always fun to see.

Thanks Rita. The rain has been all around us but keeps missing us. I’m hoping we’ll make up for it this week, I’m weary of watering! 💦🌸🌺🌻
How creative and fun. Never tire of seeing that wonderful shed in all her glory! Pretty dishes and yes, I would enjoy lunch in there! 😀
Just beautiful Mary! I love all your floral and garden touches, particularly the garden gloves holding the flatware and bouquet plates!

Je ne connaissais pas ce modèle de porcelaine de Johnson’s Brothers : il est ravissant, très frais et parfait pour une table estivale.
Bonne soirée
I like the upside down pots as sign holder and the hydrangea nosegay in the frog

Still seems I’ve never met a J-Bro dish design I haven’t liked Mary! Very pretty setting. 75 degrees here right now??? Feels almost cold:@)
