Four Paws Up for Sweater Weather!

Sweater weather has finally arrived and we’re dog-gone excited about it!

Fall has been slow to arrive in North Carolina, but we’re finally enjoying some crisp, cool 50 degree mornings and our coolest weather since May.

We give sweater weather and fall mornings on the porch 4 paws up!

Lola is almost 5 month old, in the wild and woolly stage of puppyhood and in need of a haircut. . .

Gracie is still wondering if we can return her but keep her delicious puppy kibble. ;)

We’ve been calling her Lola Bear as she looks more like a polar bear than a Bichon. . .

I laughed when I saw how much she resembled this stuffed polar bear!

Sorry Gracie, we think we’ll keep her, she’s pretty cute for a bear.

We had 4 1/2 inches of rain on Thursday from Tropical Storm Michael with strong winds but fortunately no damage. We had the minor inconvenience of losing our internet and TV, but have friends that are 20 minutes away that have been without power for almost 48 hours. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are struggling from the devastation and destruction in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

Thank you for your visit, sharing with:

Oh my goodness, glam girls! A bear is exactly the first thing I thought when I saw Lola’s fur. And her looks toward Gracie are priceless, “okay, show me how we pose”. Those sweaters are the best.
Cool weather came to us yesterday also, and it’s refreshing. Michael’s destruction is just incredible. Really glad you didn’t sustain any further damage. We had rain, but it was from the Midwest front that I believe helped push Michael out to sea. Now, what about this guy named Oscar?? I hope not……
    Have a good weekend, Mary.

I love your puppies. They are adorable. I also really enjoy your beautiful photography. Recently visited Bryson City NC. My husband and I fell in love with the mountains of NC. The view of the Great Smokey Mountains from NC was breathtaking and words cannot describe the beauty. I am a TN girl but NC is my new love. Glad you were not impacted too severely by either hurricane that devestated your state.

Please keep Lola a little wild and wooly so we can tell them apart! Lol She does look like a baby polar bear! I always had trouble knowing who was who, with Gracie and Chloe, unless you specifically said. Both of them are just darling in their warm sweaters – just too cute! Have they started to snuggle yet? Or is Miss Lola still a bit much for Gracie? I am sure Lola is a handful with all that puppy energy. Thankful no damage to you or your belongings. Yes, prayers for those who were impacted by Flo and Michael. Enjoy your weekend. Yard work today for me, time to start putting things away in the shed, Fall is definitely here. ♥️🐾🍊🍂

Gracie and Lola are stylin’ in their cozy sweaters. How adorable they are. We are having some cool mornings also here on the Florida panhandle. (Just down the road from the devastation of Hurricane Michael).

Chic fur babies decked out in style! Had to save them on Pintrest! They’re just too cute for words. 🐩 Glad you weathered the storm without damage as the beaver seems to be inflicting enough on your beautiful shrubs & trees. ☹️ Was so sorry to hear you were paid a repeat visit by that rascal. Hopefully he’ll pick on someone else’s lake shore & leave your garden alone. Enjoy these glorious Fall days! We’re so happy to feel Fall weather finally! Clara 🍂🍁

I agree….she does look like the cute bear

  31. October 13, 2018 at 1:34 pm

Cutest two girls in NC! Love their fur colar sweaters. I wish Sadie was as agreeable to wear a sweater. Gracie and Lola look so cute! Glad you didn’t have any damage nor power loss. My heart aches for all who are suffering loss. We are expecting house guests later today, the same family who fled Harvey last year. They are now back in their home, and life is pretty much back to normal. They were lucky to get their home restored within a year. Some are still waiting.
Enjoy your fall weather. Texas is enjoying some cooler temps too, along with rain.

Good to hear that you didn’t suffer damage from Michael. Lola is growing so fast. She looks almost the same size as Gracie in the pictures although I know some of that is fur volume. Thanks for sharing pictures. It’s foggy and rainy here in southern California. We received an inch of rain last night which, for us, is a deluge. It supposed to be back to 80 degrees F. later next week so I’m enjoying the cool temperatures today.

Your doggies in their sweaters are just way too cute. I’ve never seen one that wasn’t groomed and not had their hair cut. I love the way this baby puppy looks….I don’t think I would ever trim the hair.
Looks adorable like the teddy bear !
Does any one else agree ? Or is it just me ?

  43. October 14, 2018 at 11:00 am

Oh my, Mary, thank you for the morning smiles courtesy of your adorable pups! Lola does resemble a little bear. We had torrential rains yesterday as I was driving to Dallas for my baby granddaughter’s first birthday party. I’m glad that you’re safe and secure. Happy Sunday!

  44. October 14, 2018 at 4:51 pm

oh goodness, the little fur collars!! So cute! How did you ever get them to pose so perfectly Mary??? Such happy fall pictures! We had 1, exactly 1 day of cool fall weather yesterday and back to 87 degrees today, ugh! The weather man is promising lower temps mid week. I’m so glad you were safe from the storm. Gracie and Lola Bear are heart stealers for sure!

I love your babies Mary, they are just too cute in their little sweaters. I can’t get Jesse to wear his “anything” for very long…He leaves it on but the looks he gives me are something like “how can you do this to me and say you love me” LOL….So glad you made it through the hurricane ok. Prayers for all those who did not.., and lost homes and especially loved ones.

They are absolutely adorable! Lola almost looks as big as Gracie! They make me smile!!!!

  54. October 16, 2018 at 7:12 pm

Gracie and Lola are so cute. Just adorable.
Glad your weather was not too bad. We were so close to the hurricane and it was scary. However, we were spared and only had wind and rain. We feel extremely blessed. Lots of limbs and a big dump of leaves but we feel very fortunate. Many people affected that is heartbreaking. We have close friends that suffered damage at Mexico Beach. Their house was fairly new so building codes were stricter. They also were further east.

  55. October 23, 2018 at 9:13 pm

Well if there was a publication of “Puppy Vogue” Gracie and Lola would be on the front covers modeling their beautiful outfits….and how hysterical is the resemblance of Lola and that Bear!….happy to hear that you had no damage….
