No Bones About It: It’s Warmer by the Fire Pit!

No bones about it, it’s warmer by the fire pit!

Our old pal, Rod Skellington said it was cold on the dock. . .the wind seemed to go right through him! He put his fishing tackle away and moved down by the fire pit to warm up.

Aah. . .that’s better. A skull cap, scarf and some blankets. . .

A Skeletini cocktail to warm his bones. . .

Rod still enjoys reading a good book.

Horror is his favorite genre, though his eyesight isn’t what it used to be.

He’s ready to roast marshmallows by the fire. . .

Marshmallow Ghosts PEEPS are his favorite.

Nothing like a little sunshine and vitamin D to prevent bone weakness and other skeletal deformities.

Only a couple of days before Rod has to return to the closet for another year, where most skeletons belong.

Thanks for indulging my skellie humor and bad puns. ;)

Wishing you some spine-tingling and bone-chilling fun on Halloween!

Thank you for your visit, sharing with:

Good morning, Mary! So very cute; your neighbors must get a kick out of you and your displays. Going to make your maple glazed owlets for Halloween; I found my pan at Hobby Lobby last year and made a spice cake recipe in them for my oldest great grandson’s Boy Scout award ceremony last fall; they were a hit! Happy Halloween!

I love all your post and displays. I really look forward to seeing an email in my in box about your current posts. I too love to decorate but on a much smaller scale due to lack of adequate storage space. Question; where do you store all your wonderful items you decorate with? Have you ever don’t an FYI post about that?

I told him it was once a week but he said you needed to do more! My She Shed is coming along nicely. Should be finished this week. I hope to move in before the hubby does!

You are having way too much fun with Rod. This guy is just chillin by the water. So funny! Last week I was driving to Florence, SC via way of a country road and on the way there I saw a skeleton on a Harley parked in front of someone’s house. He was suited up and had a bandana on his head. I thought of you and smiled. Thanks for what you do.

  39. October 29, 2018 at 5:06 pm

Mary, your dialog has me giggling as I scroll. I love your sense of humor and find this great fun! I had fun with my witch picnic. Oh, the things we do to amuse ourselves. Happy Halloween!

Omg Mary, I am crying laughing! He does look like he’s having a big time at your fire pit! I am heading to the coast tomorrow to check on things and thought about taking my Skellie along as my “date!” But I promised Big E I would put him in Super Boy’s shower before I left, he wants to scare his big brother! You are having too much fun {me too} I will be depressed when Halloween’s over!

Adorable post! I love Halloween and because I have so much packed I did not put up any decorations this year (we are waiting to move to the lake) so I am totally enjoying all of your Halloween holiday posts. I love Rod Skellington and enjoy your fun humor and jokes. I think you are very creative and I wish I could be too!

Mary, your mind must be going a mile a minute with new ideas….I have visited Pinterest and there are so many cute ideas and my intentions are good but my follow through got up and went without me. You, however…are so much more intuned and disciplined. I envy your tenacity as it takes much work and planning to pull off your “settings”. I bought a full sized skeleton at Michael’s this year and just hung him on the outside door. How original is that? LOL You are an inspiration to all. Happy trick or treating to you my friend. You are such fun.

    Loved it!

  56. October 30, 2018 at 7:30 pm

okay, Mary…I have avoided the urge to buy one of these big skeleton for YEARS…thinking did I really need one. Now with your post this season I think I have to have one! So many different vignettes are flowing through my mind…a trip to the thrift shop could dress it perfectly even!! SOOO I guess I’ll be going to the “after Halloween” sales and getting me one!!! mwahhh!

    • October 30, 2018 at 7:33 pm

I think you’ll enjoy playing with it Dixie! I know what you mean about different vignettes. I’m already thinking about next year 🎃👻🕸🕷🍁
