Outdoor Dining: Summer Tablescapes, Centerpieces and Inspiration

Find summer table and centerpiece inspiration with themes and ideas ranging from nautical, seaside, tropical, or fresh-from-the-garden, for your outdoor entertaining and dining this summer.

Happy Monday! As Memorial Day is two weeks away and the unofficial kick off to summer, I’m sharing some summer table and centerpiece inspiration from the archives.

I think alfresco or outdoor dining is at its best when you combine it a fun summer theme or activity. With a little imagination, you can be transported to a tropical locale, enjoy a summer activity like picnicking, or celebrate the flowers or fruits of the season.

Oh WOW!! Hard to pick a favorite!! I always find something that inspires!! We dine alfresco on the screened in porch, IF it ever stops raining and warms up!! 46-50 is too cold for these old bones to sit outside for very long!! But your pics give me hope!! Thanks for sharing…but, could you share some sunshine and warmth….PLEASE??? 🌼🌺🌧🌦💨☀️☔️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can top your design ideas for tablescaping, Mary. All of your ideas are just so rich (and not necessarily in terms of money!) and creative. I just love seeing your tables. Happy Monday. I didn’t get in on this hop but hope to be back on my blog by June.

Yay, here comes summer! After a solid week of rain, the sun is finally out here and I am itching to get out all my summer things! Your round up leaves me breathless, they are all so fabulous! I think my favorites are the ones “on location” ….the beach, the cornfield and the dock! We put so much into our tablescapes, they deserve to be shared many times, there is always something new to see! I am so looking forward to the Welcome Summer hop this week!
I’ve got to get busy, thank you Mary!

I love a good old red, white and blue tablescape and hydrangeas have my heart BUT your hosta one with the beautiful flower paisley cloth was the winner in my book!!

I couldn’t pick a favorite either, Mary. I love when you go fishing in your archives…literally—because I love the beach themes and of course any of your flower arrangements.

Oh, my GOSH! What a treasure chest of eye candy ! I have spent the last 1.5 + hours reviewing the first 4 or 5 posts and will finish the rest tonight. Every one is a special delight. You are THE BEST! Had to pin the shrimp kabobs, the cold rice salad and the delicious pineapple – coconut fruit boats ! I’m all over the nautical / lakeside tablescape, but the others are awesome also. Mary, how did you get the molded brown sugar turtles not to crumble upon removing from the mold? I so enjoyed re-reading the Loggerhead turtle posts and seeing the babies scrambling to the water. You and my hubby share a definite love for turtles. If we are in the car and he sees a turtle trying to cross the road, he will stop, put on his flashers and get out and take it to safety in the grass so no one will run over it. They are sweet. Thanks for all your hard work, we are spoiled but love Every post! 🏖🍹🌴🍍🍋🍒🏊‍♀️🌹🐚

You are so creative with all of your tablescape ideas. My favorite is your pontoon picnic, something very serene about being on a boat and enjoying the beautiful view with a beautiful table and food.
