Weekend Waterview

Happy Weekend, I hope you had a great 4th and are enjoying this holiday week!

It’s been hot and steamy here!! We’ve been indoors in the comfort of the AC for most of this week, but did venture out some for an early morning boat ride and breakfast cruise on the 4th.

Lola says kibble tastes so much better on the pontoon and with the breeze blowing in our ears. 🐾

You know it’s July when it’s hot in the shade!

Our resident Great Blue Heron was fishing from the dock this week.

He’s a very patient fisherman and stands still as a statue.

You realize what large birds they are when you see their wingspan. . .

I’ll leave you with a little sunset waterview. . .

Lola says she hopes you’re staying cool where you are!

❤️ 🐾 🇺🇸

Thank you for your visit, sharing with:

I love those flags you have stuck in the ground by the water’s edge! Where can I find those?

      • July 8, 2019 at 9:46 am

They’re swooper flags and available on Amazon 🇺🇸

The boat ride was enjoyable with Lola. Thanks for bringing us along Mary. The heron pics are wonderful & it’s nice to have him as a resident as they are so relaxing to watch. It’s sweltering & the a/c is working overtime. We did have one evening last weekend that was very pleasant & we went out to a neighboring town to see their fireworks. It was great to sit in the convertible & enjoy them without heat & humidity. It’s July now so no relief in sight for a few more months. Have a great weekend! Clara🇺🇸🐾💕

Lola loves her boat rides!!! Beautiful pictures! Thank you! Our Bichon Chester prefers the air conditioned house over our outside pool area in this heat even in Maine!!

So glad you were able to get in a boat ride on the holiday. The Captain’s little First Mate is just darling! The picture of her in his arms is too cute with that little pink tongue, hehe. The sunset pics are stunning. How fun to watch Mr. Heron, we had a female turkey walk through our front yard yesterday, ha. We are enjoying high 80’s and are thankful for great neighbors who share their refreshing pool, but celebrated the 4th with a picnic at our lovely local beach looking at beautiful Lake Huron. What a view! Such summer fun! ♥️🌞♥️🐚♥️🇺🇸

As always, love your photos. We have Great Blue Herons here too. Beautiful peaceful birds. As is true with me it seems the only way to survive losing a beloved Bichon is to get another one. Lola, really loves her daddy. Have a Wonderful weekend!

I enjoy your photos, and this weekend the water photos offered some calming to my nerves. I am in Southern California, and we have had some “shake, rattle and roll” with the earthquakes. But looking at the water, sunset and Lola in her Daddy’s arms offers me a soothing feeling. I look forward to and always enjoy your blog.

Mary, I always enjoy your water views. It makes me long for our days on the lake. I wonder if Sadie would adapt to going out in a boat. She is such a homebody! Thanks for sharing the beauty of Lake Norman, stay cool, and happy July!

Yep, we’re into the doggy days of summer here in Philly too Mary! Give Lola a hug for me and have a great weekend:@)

Awwww I love seeing Lola and your hubby, Mary. The blue heron is a sight to behold. Thank you for the tranquil sunset lake view. What a perfect way to end your day! ❤️

Not only are you able to get Lola to pose, but also a heron! And perfecly timed with the flag extended beautifully in the breeze. Now that’s some skillful photography!

  30. July 7, 2019 at 1:24 am

Hi Mary- thanks for the boat ride! I was invited to go up to the lake to be with my sister’s family and their inaugural boat ride of their new boat – but they really had a full house and it’s been hot and I haven’t felt like doing much of anything all weekend. But seeing your gorgeous sunset makes me miss the lake and it’s perfectly glorious sunsets.

Hope we cool off soon – all I can stand is a quick watering of the potted flowers and filling hummingbird nectar in the feeders then run back into the frigid cool of the house. Not a fan of humid hot unbearable weather.

Again = thanks for the beautiful pics. Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Sigh* love all your photographs.. they bring such a smile to my heart. Thank you!
Ours has been a quiet , albeit only we were being quiet, weekend + holiday. The combination of a broken arm and 4 pups who are terrified of all that brouhaha, means we watched Casablanca , enjoyed popcorn while pups enjoyed a Yak chew. I sometimes feel like an old soul because I never did like all that riotous noise. But the pups made us so happy to be “homey” and happy!

Will you be entertaining the thought of a companion for Lola? I know our pups so love their group hugs. They teach us, love is for sharing. So glad you share in this blog too!

A boat ride on the lake is perfect for the 4th. I think Lola is a fan! It is hot and humid here as well!

  33. July 7, 2019 at 10:18 am

I an sure you had a wonderful 4th of July. The pictures are gorgeous. We have a cabin on Watch Lake here in B.C. Boating is really enjoyable, although the weather has not been great this year
so far–rain almost every day for the last couple weeks. It is suppose to change next week.

Looks like Lola and her Captain were enjoying the morning boat ride. Our town celebrated with a parade yesterday followed by fireworks in the evening. We invited a friend to join us on the boat and enjoyed the cool breeze and fireworks display. Finally got some rain this afternoon but hoping for more as it’s been very dry here.

Someone is a daddy’s girl! Great pics! It is hot and muggy in Kansas also. I’m starting to plan my fall adventures and thinking of fall decorations! Can I wish the cooler weather here faster?

Thanks so much for pics. Trying to catch up as computer has been on the fritz. Son fixed today!!! Lola is so sweet & enjoy water pics too. I had a cardinal come sit on the deck with me this morning – on one of the chairs & cocked his little head to listen to conversation!! A little cooler this morning but is heating up again – oh well, it is July!!!
