Happy Sunday and last day of summer!
We had a little cool down this weekend with temperatures dropping to the upper 70s and low 80s. . . a teaser of fall weather to come with early morning temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s, and a welcome relief from the heat and humidity! It’s been one of the hottest Septembers on record here in North Carolina and I’m beyond ready for fall.
We took advantage of the cooler temps with an early morning boat ride.
Sophie’s getting her sea legs (or lake legs ;) and enjoying the breeze off the water. . .
And Lola assumes her seat of choice in the Captain’s lap and chair.
Breakfast kibble tastes better on the boat. 🐾🐾
Sophie says the boat is a great place for a morning nap.

Always enjoy your post. The fur babies are so cute. I’m like you and more than ready to see summer go. Its been one of the hottest summers here in Georgia as well. If I have to go through another summer like this one, I think I would consider moving further north. Love all your pictures. Enjoy the last day of summer.

Certainly was a hot summer here in N. C. I’ve been living in the South for the past 30 yrs but sure wished I was back in New England when my sister told me they had temps in the 60s in my home state Conn while we were in the 90s. I do enjoyed this past week but see the temps are going back up this week. Glad I got most of my fall decorating done. Still have some outside to get to, it my plants still look good in the large containers where my pumpkins will go.
Simply put, Just Too Cute!! Mary, I hope you know how many smiles you made happen today because of this post.
So sooo sweet, I can almost feel the breezes! Love the photo of Sophie snoozing against the arm rest… I just looked at the forecast for the week ahead, 90s every day! No fall in sight! I did buy some pumpkins for the patio yesterday so I’m going ahead with fall no matter what the thermometer says!

Oh my!!!!! Everytime I see a puppy post from you, it makes me realize that there can be life after my sophiejane!!!! I need another fur puppy in my life so badly right now. Just spent the last 3 weeks in 2 different hospitals in 2 different states with my middle son. We almost lost him to the devil ~ VAPING~. I will be on a soapbox soon about this but right now all I can do is praise God for allowing him to recover Full recovery will take months. Not like he’s young kid..he’s 38.
What I wanted most at night was to cuddle up with my sophiejane and it really hit hard how badly I need another.

We had a lovely summer here in Michigan, with just the right amount of HOT days to enjoy swimming in the lake / or family pools. With that said, I am always a bit sad to see summer go, as our winters are so L o n g, but fall is just a beautiful season here, so we take solace in that. The girls are too cute and seem to enjoy their fun boat ride. I would too, haha. Happy Fall Mary, hope your area cools down soon. 🍂🍊
Lola aime son confort et la sécurité sur les genoux du capitaine, mais Sophie semble plus aventureuse le nez au vent, avant une petite sieste réparatrice.
Ce week-end il a enfin plut, mais il y a tellement de vent que la sol sèche de suite et l’eau ne pénètre pas ! Vivement un véritable automne, que l’on puisse planter.

Sophie and Lola are the two sweetest pups. I love the photo of the wind blowing Lola’s fur. Makes you just want to snuggle into both of them!
I’m so over the heat. We’ve also had a few cool mornings and lower temps. Fall can’t come soon enough. Looking forward to a few rainy days (not in the forecast, but I’ve got my fingers crossed) to cool us off and hopefully Autumn will be in full swing. With Halloween not too far away!

One of our rescues passed away this week from old age. He was such a love pumpkin! We had many years together. We know you’ve experienced the same thing & it’s never easy. Oh to be one of your sweet dogs! Those girls are living the good life. We, too, enjoyed the cooler, less humid days here in Virginia. Back to 86 degrees today. It’s a roller coaster ride of temps.
