Calling all peanut butter and chocolate lovers, I have a sweet treat for Halloween!

If you’re looking for a Halloween treat that provides smiles and stares, instead of scares, this cookie is for you!

I can’t take credit for these cute cookies, as I saw several versions of them on Pinterest. They’re easy to scare up with peanut butter cookie dough, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures and Wilton Candy Eye Balls. You’ll also need some melted chocolate chips or chocolate icing to make the spider legs and attach the eyes.

Use your favorite peanut butter cookie recipe or make them using a short cut like I did, with some refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough. I used Pillsbury Peanut Butter Refrigerated Cookies which came in a 16.5 oz roll. I found the peanut butter cookie dough at Walmart and got 21 cookies out of a 16.5 oz roll.

You’ll need one miniature Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup and two candy eyes per cookie. Before you begin, place your mini Reece’s cups in the freezer. I popped mine in the freezer in their wrappers for about an hour. Freezing the peanut butter cups first help them retain their shape so they won’t melt when placing it on the warm cookie.

Pinch off a little cookie dough and roll into a 1-inch ball. Roll the cookie ball in sugar to coat and place balls on a parchment lined baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.

Follow the directions for baking according to your recipe. Pillsbury Peanut Butter Refrigerated Cookies bake at 350ºF for about 14 minutes.

When done, remove cookies from oven, unwrap a frozen miniature peanut butter cup, pressing it down in the center of the warm cookie.

Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

To create spider legs and attach the eyes, you can either pipe with your favorite chocolate frosting/icing or melt candy melts or chocolate chips, placing them in a plastic ziptop bag, snipping the end off the corner and squeezing out the chocolate to draw the legs. I always have trouble controlling the flow of the melted chocolate and find it easier to pipe frosting.

Peanut butter and chocolate, yum! Too cute Mary! I bet they were fun to make, just like your turkey nutter butter cookie cupcakes. I had a blast making those! It’s like they come to life! Lol

Like Jane said they are so cute and the grandsons would love making and eating them.
They are coming this weekend so I pick up the ingredients today. The winds are going to be too strong for them to take the little boat so would be a fun Saturday project.

What a fun, easy treat that is very cute! Reese’s peanut butter cups are my husband’s favorite candy, but I won’t be able to make these. He has an uncanny knack for knowing when this candy is hidden in the pantry and he will find and consume them before I can make the cookies!

The shot glasses and spider tray are fabulous! The cookies are the perfect piece to complete your spider theme. I appreciate your effort to pull all the details together, from spider web table cover (I have that one!) all the way through to the cookies.

Thanks for creating and sharing this fun creepy crawly venue!

Your Halloween posts are my favorites. I love your collection of 222 Fifth! Don’t you just love them? Honestly, I don’t think I have any room for another dish, and yet…

Those spider 🕷 cookies are so cute, Mary. I miss having my baking partner to do fun things with, but Cissy is too busy this Fall. I am going to be having my two youngest granddaughters over soon. I’m sure the almost 5 year old would live making these. Thank you for the inspiration! Happy Hotumn (I learned a new word today for our hot weather!). 😘

You know, I can’t come here as often as I want. There’s yummy spider cookies here and then cute turkey cupcakes on your sidebar! I always leave wanting to run to the store for something sweet :)
