Instead of having a complete set of dinnerware for Thanksgiving, I like to mix and match. My gobblers were collected over the years, pull up a chair and have a seat next to your favorite turkey!

Our Thanksgiving feast is served buffet style on the kitchen island so we don’t have to leave room on the table for platters of food, which means plenty of room on the table for a centerpiece!

I love using natural elements as a centerpiece for the table. . .dried hydrangea blooms are paired with mini tiger-stripe pumpkins, nuts, maples leaves and mercury glass votives for a casual and organic runner for the table. This runner is easy to recreate in less than 10 minutes, varying your elements to coordinate with your table or dinnerware. Substitute faux leaves, pumpkins and floral stems if you prefer, keeping them low enough to see over and not interfere with conversation while dining.

A plaid tablecloth provides a foundation at the table with an ear of Indian corn lending a harvest note at each place setting.

I love brown transferware and Spode Celebration Thanksgiving Turkey is one of my favorite patterns.

I have two Spode Celebration Thanksgiving Turkey dinner plates that I found at Tuesday Morning several years ago.

Victorian English Pottery Turkey by Edward Challinor | ©homeiswheretheboatis.net #thanksgiving #tablescapes #easy #turkey

Victorian English Pottery Turkey by Edward Challinor has an acorn and oak leaf border.

Here’s an interesting tidbit I just learned~ The Victorian English Pottery Challinor line is by Royal Stafford, hence the center turkey design of the Victorian English Pottery plate is identical to the Royal Stafford Turkey plate below.

Royal Stafford Turkey plates have a touch of blue with fruit, flowers and wheat along the border of the plates.

You can see them at a Thanksgiving Table With a Touch of Blue, from 2012, here.

Autumn Monarch by Johnson Brothers Turkey plates, are rimmed with a decorative fruit and vegetable border.

You can see them at an alfresco Thanksgiving table from 2014, here, with a turkey tureen centerpiece.

Queen’s by Churchill ‘Majestic Beauty’ turkey | ©homeiswheretheboatis.net #thanksgiving #tablescapes #easy #turkey

Queen’s by Churchill ‘Majestic Beauty’ turkey dinner plates, were found strutting their stuff at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago  for $4.99, about the same price as a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

And a price that may have you rethinking your Starbucks addiction and trading it for a dish addiction instead. ;)

Last but not least, my newest ‘Tom’ added this year, a Royal Wessex by Churchill Turkey. In addition to a turkey, it has a farm scene with barn, windmill and sheaves of wheat, with a wheat and floral border.

Mary, I love your assortment of gobblers at your table! Your centerpiece and table runner using the hydrangeas, pumpkins, nuts and leaves is so pretty and “do-able”! Thank you for sharing your creative table styling ideas and beautiful photography with us. 🦃 Jerri

Mary, another stunning, yet warm and welcoming table. Love love your turkey plate collection! Every time I’m sure it’s my favorite plate, your next photo has me scratching my head —- want them all! It must be fun discovering and collecting them over the years. Previously, I had hoped to find a vintage plate, platter or salt and pepper shakers at antique and resale shops, but have had zero success. Thinking your HG and TM hunt is a better plan.

  4. November 5, 2019 at 7:16 am

Mary, I adore all of your turkey plates. I had vowed I would not start a collection , but with my recent find and now seeing your stunning gobblers, I may not be able to resist the temptation. Your beautiful and organic centerpiece is perfect for the Thanksgiving Table, dried hydrangeas, pumpkins, leaves and nuts all create gorgeous warmth. The plaid tablecloth makes a lovely foundation, I am mad for plaid! I know your family and guests will love being seated at your Thanksgiving Table. Joining you for a blog hop is always a pleasure❤️

I love it when you let your rafter run free range, Mary! Not only did I learn that term from you, but I have learned some beautiful and inspiring tablescaping ideas from you over the years. Your never-ending creative combinations of centerpieces, textiles and place settings has left readers with an encyclopedic reference, and your backtrack links are always helpful too. I love the simplicity in this long table set for buffet style service, and my favorite gobblers are the green tinted oak leaf/acorn and the blue hued fruit rims. However, that newest addition is quite fetching too! I can see guests all sitting down, cleaning their plates and then comparing who has what plate, and matching up to others, like the game of Memory. ;) Those napkins are really pretty too. Thanks for being part of this hop, Mary, I always look forward to coming to your table!

Having the Mix and Match of beautiful Turkey Plates is a wonderful idea! I may need to start a collection. The plaid tablecloth is lovely and your centerpiece is gorgeous and it makes it easy for conversation.

Your family will be delighted to sit around this beautiful table!

    Happy November!

Your table setting is beautiful! I love how you carried the colors from the pretty plates throughout the table. I also adore the plaid, especially this time of year. The way you layered the pumpkins and accessories down the center of the table is just stunning! Love it all!

Mary, I have to confess my weakness for all things turkey. Those plates are just beautiful. My husband told me we have too many dishes, but now I regret not buying the beautiful turkey plates I recently spotted in Homegoods. I’m running out this weekend to see if they still have them, if so, I’m buying a few. Beautiful table as always, thank you for sharing all this beauty with us.

You are ready for a bountiful Thanksgiving Mary! The plaid tablecloth is perfect for welcoming guests and making them feel at home and cozy. I love your collection of gobblers, what a great idea to mix and match them, and it looks fantastic! The hydrangeas are a wonderful addition to your runner of pumpkins, nuts, leaves and candles, it all looks beautiful! Happy hopping 🦃

I love the mixed Tom Turkey plates, Mary. It’s hard to pick a favorite one. Your low runner centerpiece is perfect for visiting with other guests at the table. The dried ear of corn is a perfect touch! Thank you for your inspiration!

  12. November 5, 2019 at 9:14 am

You have a way of making turkeys look gorgeous and that is not easy to do in my eyes!! 👀 Let’s face it they are not a pretty animal!! But all of your fabulous turkey plates mix and match just beautifully for a wonderful table to celebrate at. Of course I love the plaid tablecloth and I adore the mini pumpkins as a runner down the entire table, just delightful! Always a pleasure to hop with you, Mary. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Ohhh, Mary you are a temptress! Lol My prior favorite turkey plate was the one with fruit, wheat stalks and touches of blue cornflowers, but now, the newest one with the farm yard and windmill in the background is really tugging at my heart. Was that purchased at Tuesday Morning or Home Goods? I checked our T J Maxx and they are carrying the same ones as last year, but I bought another anyway, at that price who can resist? Lovely table and that centerpiece is so special! Love the mercury votives tucked in besides the nuts and dried flowers as well as those mini pumpkins. I’m getting my turkey gravy boat and turkey salt and pepper shakers out today in honor of you! Hehe 🍊🍂

Hi Mary, Yes, I would prefer a plate addiction to a Starbuck’s coffee addiction any day. I must admit, I am a dinnerware and plate rescuer. Now that I confessed, I can say I love your collection of various turkey plates and your ability to mix and match them all in your tablescape. They all work so beautifully with your plaid tablecloth and your lovely runner of pumpkins, nuts, leaves and hydrangeas. They are the exquisite symbol of Fall and Thanksgiving. Mary, it is always an honor to be blog hopping with you and I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.

  17. November 5, 2019 at 11:48 am

Mary, your Turkey theme is gorgeous. I love the natural elements of the pumpkins down the center of your table. The addition of leaves, and nuts, So charming and earthy. Dish addiction is one of my things as well. How can we turn down a lovely plate. Mixing and matching is so pretty. The plaid tablecloth reminds me of home. Always a pleasure mary to join you on these lovely tablescape blog hops.

Oh so warm and welcoming. I love the Indian corn and I share your love for transferware. I always look for it when I go antiquing. The fact that each of your plates are different just makes it even more fun! I really like the ones with colors the most! What a fun collection you have for your guests to enjoy.
Your centerpiece is just perfect for Thanksgiving. Those dried hydrangea pair so well with the small pumpkins in different colors. It really speaks Fall and Thanksgiving. Love your beautiful tablescape!

Okay can we play musical chairs at your Thanksgiving? I am turkey crazy an I love transferware so I could never pick a favorite! I love your natural elements and perfect fall plaid tablecloth. If I had to pick I would choose the Royal Staffordshire with the blue. You will be seeing the Majestic beauty plates on my table on Friday.

Mary, what an incredible table you have set with your lovely collection of different turkey plates! I love this idea, because I see so many one offs of these at thrift stores! I may begin my own collection! The centerpiece of little pumpkins and beautiful hydrangea blossoms along with nuts gives that nod to the harvest we celebrate with Thanksgiving! Thanks so much for going us once again!!

Mary, I love all of your transferware turkey plates! I will definitely start picking up single turkey plates if I come across them. I’d much rather buy a pretty plate over a latte! What a great conversation starter for your guests to compare turkey plates! They are set off beautifully by the brown plaid tablecloth. It’s always fun hopping with you! Happy Thanksgiving!
