Happy Monday!

This turkey snack board is an easy way to entertain family or friends over Thanksgiving, and is as fun to make as it is to eat! To begin, start with a wood board or serving tray of your choice and a pear to create your turkey.

Cut your pear in half and place it in the center of your board. To create Tom Turkey’s face, I used some cream cheese as the ‘glue’ to attach Wilton Candy Eyeballs leftover from Halloween, an almond for a beak, and a sliver of red grape as the turkey’s wattle. Slivers of cheese provide the turkey legs or you can use pretzels sticks if you prefer.

I have an assortment of fall pie punches to add pie crust leaf embellishments that I’ve used for Mini Pumpkin Pies, a Double Crust Apple Pie and a Pumpkin Cheese Ball. For the snack board, I used the punches to stamp out leaves from a variety package of Cheddar, Pepper Jack, Colby Jack and Swiss cheese.

Notes: Reserve scraps of cheese for another use like a casserole, grilled cheese, etc. For quicker assembly of your board, cut your cheese leaves up to 3 days in advance, wrapped well with plastic wrap in the refrigerator. You can find fall pie punches at kitchen stores, the baking aisle of the craft store and online.

Now the fun part begins. . . assembling your turkey’s fantail of snacks!

In addition to cheese, I used an assortment of crackers, almonds, dried apricots, red and green seedless grapes and some salami and fontina cheese rolls that I cut in half.

Mary, I can’t wait to see my turkey plate in person. You are so kind w/ your giveaways! This post and the pie appetizers are just perfect for my Thanksgiving Day plans as my grandson-in-law has to work that day. So the combo will help the rest of us make it thru the day while we wait for the “main event”. I will have to check my baking stash and see what I have that might work for Mr. Tom’s feathers. Thank you once again; you always make my day!

Positively amazing!!! You come up with absolutely the most clever ideas I have ever seen. We are visiting my daughter and her family and her comment was “She’s put a lot of work into that” and it is quite obvious you have. Thank you for the step by step directions. Congrats to the winners of the Royal Wessex plate, it should be a great addition to your Thanksgivings Day Dinner.

Mary your “boards” are always amazing. I look forward to them each season and you never disappoint. Your brain must work on overtime to come up with such original ideas. I do most of my thinking as I lay in bed, but nothing as unique as yours,

Does anyone know what the red chip or crackers are?

      They’re 3 Seed Beet Crackers from Trader Joe’s. 🦃
