Happy Weekend! Here’s a little weekend waterview from Lake Norman.
Fall is my favorite season and has been late to arrive in North Carolina. She seemed to last about 20 minutes after 5 months of summer and the record breaking heat of October.
I love the brisk cool fall air and the steam fog rising off the water in the mornings.
While I have visions of sugar plums dancing in my head, I’m enjoying this last week of November leading up to Thanksgiving. . .
And am enjoying fall’s last hurrah with her foliage, pumpkins and mums, before I trade them in for jingle bells and boughs of holly.
I took these photos earlier in the week, enjoying watching the leaves turn and watery reflections.
“Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.”
― Elizabeth Lawrence
Sophie and Lola say ‘hello’, enjoying some porch time earlier in the week. . .
They said to tell you it’s a rainy Saturday here . . .perfect for a little napping.
Happy Thanksgiving! I love this blog. This morning I felt transported to the lake and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for a lovely start to my day.
You take the most beautiful pictures. I love fall. I love the mist rising from the water in the morning and the cool, crisp air and lovely walks by our lake.
It all looks so serene and lovely, thank you for sharing fall’s last moments with us. A lake photo with a blue sky is always beautiful, but I truly enjoy the ethereal feeling of the lake photos with steam rising. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with warmth and happiness!
I also love the last days of fall even the rainy ones. I enjoy my autumn decor both inside and out until Thanksgiving weekend. My Christmas decorating is now all in my head and all the blogs are giving me lots of ideas to use come Dec. Life goes by so quickly we should savor the seasons and not rush from one to another. Thankyou for your lovely, peaceful pictures of the Lake Norman.
Love those precious pups Mary! They’re adorable. The Fall pics are gorgeous. Our leaves didn’t get to turn vivid colors as we had a sudden freeze which shocked the trees I guess. It certainly shocked me! Lol I must agree that we had a short fall but a long, long summer. Happy Thanksgiving! Clara ❤️
I don’t really experience autumn here on the coast of southern California so I revel in your pictures of beautiful autumn leaves reflected in the lake. Of course, the pups are always fun to see, too. Happy Thanksgiving!
Mary, your lakeside view is beauutiful any season, but like you, fall is my favorite. Texas doesn’t get the same vibrant color, but I savor the golden cast on the trees. They flutter like golden coins in the breeze. Your girls look so comfy. Sadie and I have been snuggled by a cozy fire these days as there is definitely a nip in our air again. Sweather weather is my favorite! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I envy the serene beauty that you are able to enjoy every day. Thank you for sharing the wonders of nature throughout the seasons with all of us. Hope you and yours have a happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Mary! I may not always comment but I always read your posts and so enjoy seeing your beautiful pictures. God Bless you.
There is nothing as beautiful as fall foliage reflected in water. I have a similar picture from the first time I visited the Adirondacks many years ago. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Happy Thanksgiving Mary to you and your family, thank you for all the time and work you do for us all to enjoy. I do not always comment, but I sure do read all your posts. Just wanted you to know how much happiness you bring to me. God Bless you, Mary
Happy Thanksgiving Mary!! Thank you so much for pictures – enjoy them so much!! Give Sophie & Lola hugs from me! They look so sweet. Enjoy all your posts!
So much to be thankful for including family and friends and those who fill our mind and heart with the beauty of nature, the bounty of food, and the beauty of the world. (including your pups!) Thank you for all you do Mary to that end!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
It looks so beautiful where you are! The Autumn is by far my most favorite time of the year! All the colors of the trees are so amazing. And, of course, Lola and Sophie are the highlight of all the pictures!
Oh so beautiful Mary, and I agree, fall did feel like 20 minutes this year! Driving to the beach on Sunday, I felt like I was traveling through an Autumn rainbow, the trees were absolutely stunning! I can’t remember the trees in Alabama being so colorful, so maybe that last heat wave was worth it! Sophie and Lola are over the top adorable, I hope they will get a turkey puppy treat or two this week!

Why oh why is our favorite season so fleeting? I wait for it and football all year long…then it’s over in a few short weeks! It was really over after those strong winds blew through Asheville last weekend. A million leaves cover the ground now and Fall has fallen. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I so enjoy your blog. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Happy Thanksgiving! I love this blog. This morning I felt transported to the lake and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for a lovely start to my day.
