So much eye candy here this morning Mary! Thank you for all the beautiful tables and photography. I think my favorite is “Bee Mine”! 🐝❤️ My favorite way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to stay in and enjoy a cozy meal with my honey! I’m a long time follower. Thank you for the giveaway and a chance to win!

Well..I guess since I live in Canada, there is no chance of pretty plates for me..😩 , but I just wanted to say how beautiful all your photo’s are. Do you really own all of these dishes ?? Where do you keep them all? So pretty! Anyways, I have been a subscriber to your newsletters for quite a long time now and I am always in awe of your collections! I always have a thing for pretty china cups and saucers and I love looking at yours! (Have pinned them al!) I have a few pretty ones that I acquired after my mom passed away, but never take them out as I have nobody to invite to a tea party! They are almost a thing of the past and maybe I should just take them out and use them when I drink tea. I also like your stamped spoon (did you do that?) and I always love the vintage valentines. I have some that were my grandma’s (whom I never ever knew) that are well over 150 years old. However , everything is packed away in the basement and I’ve just had my ankle fused, so there is no going down the stairs this year to find them. Hubby and I don’t do anything for Valentines Day..He has shown me “the love” every single day for over 36 years. I have always felt very blessed to have him as my husband. Thank so much for sharing your pretty tablescapes. It has made my day!

  4. January 27, 2020 at 5:43 am

So much to love here! I’ve said before but no one does tables like you do! I don’t do much decorating for Valentine’s Day now that the kiddos are grown but we do celebrate with our favorite dinner at home as restaurants are much too crowded to go out. Thank you for the giveaway, beautiful tables and recipes. Teresa

  5. January 27, 2020 at 5:46 am

My family is so fortunate that, for more than 150 years, someone saved a few Valentines from each generation. They not only grace a tea table, but a grandchild or great Niece gets to take them to school for Show and Tell.

Bee Still My Heart…what a sweet post that I missed! I love your round ups where everything is in one place, like opening a beautiful gift. Thank you for sharing your creativity and generous spirit Mary. I’ve been a follower for several years and so enjoy starting my days with you as I sip my coffee and ooh and aah over your tables, recipes and sweet furbabies. We stay in instead of going out to celebrate Valentine’s Day. My hubby has spoiled me with flowers on Valentine’s Day for 37 years now~ that’s a lot of roses (I don’t want to do the math $$)! Please add my name to your giveaway, I would be thrilled to win! Deb

I used to be on a blog so I know how much work and love you put into this post and all of your posts. This one is just perfect in every way. Every little detail is so Sweet. When I saw the heart plates, I was going to ask where you got them and then was so surprised to see you were giving them away to some lucky gal. They are darling. Love that teapot stand too. So many pretties. Valentine’s Day in or out? Wherever I am with my honey, is good for me.This year we are playing in a Valentine golf event on the 13th and then seeing The Celtic Tenors and on the 14th, we are going to a concert of love songs given by someone we know in our community. Thank you for the give away and for the beautiful pictures!( Pinning them.)

A plethora of LOVEly tablescapes and ideas! I love the love boat. ;) My hubby proposed on Valentine’s Day (even though I was as sick as a dog, a good testament to ‘in sickness and in health’!). We will be celebrating quietly this year, as he is the one needing some TLC this time.
I always look forward to your posts in my inbox, Mary, and pinned that photo of the assorted plates – so pretty, especially the chinz-looking florals! That waffle-weave dish towel/napkin (?) is also adorable!

    Good Morning
I love your ideas for tablescapes. I am also a frequent Home Goods shopper and find myself searching for your treasures.
We don’t usually do anything special on Valentines Day. We usually just stay comfy and cozy together with our cat and dog.
This year I’m leaving my sweet husband at home and spending the evening at the Cincinnati Ballet’s production of Romeo and Juliet ( he wasn’t interested 🙂).
I pinned your edible centerpiece which I’m definitely going to make!
I have the perfect spot for those plates!

    Thanks

For many years we always went out for dinner to a romantic restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day. But restaurants have gotten so crazy packed full on Valentine’s Day that it’s really not enjoyable anymore. So now we celebrate with a romantic dinner at home. ❤️ Thank you for a beautiful post and a great giveaway!

    January 27, 2020 at 7:51 am

Hi Mary! As always, your post is over the top! I pinned a picture of your little bird plates to my Valentines board. I plan to search for my own (can you tell me where you got them They’re adorable!) Anyway, I always spend Valentine’s Day at home with my husband. My elderly parents live with us as well, so I make a special meal, hang some hearts and try to make it special for everyone. I do my best to put LOVE in the air! I know my parents wouldn’t do anything special on their own, so I like to include them. Going out seems so impersonal to me. I’d rather be home surrounded by the people I love and make a meal that is special to all of us rather than go to a crowded restaurant and get bad service and mediocre food. Thanks for the table inspirations! I would love to win your heart plates. It would inspire me to do even more for the table! <3 Danielle

Hi Mary, Thanks for the Valentine’s love this morning! Your tablescapes are always a favorite of mine. I found you several years ago via Between Naps on the Porch and have followed you by email ever since. Our Valentine’s Day tradition started 20+ years ago when we tried to eat out and it was way too crowded. We picked up take out Chinese on the way home and that’s how we’ve celebrated ever since. Thank you for the giveaway, such a pretty assortment of plates! ♥

We would rather spend our Valentine’s Day at home and maybe go out for breakfast the next day since it is on a Friday this year. I don’t normally decorate for Valentine’s but your post has inspired me to maybe do a little something extra special around the house.I normally have purple and blue items scattered since we don’t really have a winter in Florida.
I had to pin the white Bee plates and spoon. Absolutely love and could keep this out past Valentine’s day.
Would love to win the plates as well to start my Valentine’s decor.

  35. January 27, 2020 at 8:48 am

Thank you so much for taking the time to share so many Valentine ideas with us, Mary. I did spot your Rose Chintz plate. It’s such a pretty JB pattern, isn’t it? I am hosting a Valentine Tea Party for my ladies group in early February, but for Valentine’s Day, I’ll just be staying home. The assortment of heart dishes are so pretty and so generous of you to giveaway. Have a beautiful week…xo

Your amazing tablescapes are so inspirational! I’ve been following your blog for over five years and love to share your pages. Happy Valentines Day!

All of your posts are true inspirations and I regularly pin from them. Today I added a new category, “Celebrate!” using your blog as its raison d’etre. Thank you for everything you do! 💕

What a beautiful post! Thank you!
This St. Valentine’s Day my husband & I are going to a dinner/dance fundraiser. Not our typical thing but this year is our 25th anniversary so we wanted to branch out. Also, a group of my gal friends from my Red Hat group have monthly Bunco. This coming month of February I’m going to do it up big for them and St. Valentine’s Day and have them over to my home for a “Gal-entine” Bunco fest. Many of them are missing their husbands and need a good dose of girlfriend fun and love. Really looking forward to it and I hope they are too. Happy Valentine’s Day to you too.

Love all the ideas! I pinned the Alice table set up to my Alice in Wonderland board. I spend Valentines day with my grandchildren so their parents can have a date night! I have to admit I am a little obsessed with your bee teapot. Happy Valentine’s day to you!

We like to stay home and have a meal by the fireplace. Our small town has an underwhelming offering of restaurants, so the few options are so busy it’s not worth the wait. I try to set a pretty table and make it special-the heart plates are perfect! Subscribed and pinned as well! Happy Valentines….

Your table ideas are the best, and my favorite item in this post is the bee hive white-on-white plates!
I love going out for Valentine’s Day but actually due to work schedules , it’s often the day before or after … which doesn’t matter to me, it’s who I’m with that matters !

  71. January 27, 2020 at 11:40 am

How beautiful! I have been a subscriber for years. You said to share what we enjoy doing for Valentine’s Day. I was going to say, baking and elaborately decorating cookies for my grandbabies. But then I saw you will draw a winner on Feb. 5th….which will be my grandaughter’s FIRST BIRTHDAY and also my husband’s birthday. My grandson turned three just two weeks before his baby sister turns one. So many blessings!!! Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Good Morning Mary, Thanks for such a wealth of inspiration packed into one post, so many great ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day. My husband and I enjoy shopping together for Valentine Cards and gifts for our five grandchildren. We celebrate the day by having dinner together at home and watching a movie. You have given me so many great options for decorating the table.

When I first read your post I planned to save the Valentines’s Tea Party and Tablescapes to my Tea Party Board but it seemed to ring a bell and it certainly should have because I had previously saved it to my Tea Party Board. With that out I saved the 14 Sweets and Treats to my Sweets Board. I love having tea parties, they give us gals an enjoyable way to spend time together. I would absolutely love to be a winner of those beautiful heart shaped Valentines plates.

Hands down yours is my favorite blog. Love the photography, the color and the inspiration. I have been a subscriber for a couple of years now but this is the first time I have commented. How can I pin just one as I love them all and have pinned several in the past. Since I need to pin one, today I choose the red hot centerpiece.

Hi Mary, thank you for another lovely post! Valentines is special for my husband and I as our first date was on this day. We were married on February 16th so we celebrate both events. This year will be our 40th anniversary! We love to go to dinner but with the crowds we often delay it until the Valentine fever has died down. :) We have often found ourselves volunteering at a fund raising event for our children’s school but as long we’re together, it’s all good!
Thank you for the generous give away – the plates are lovely! I’ve subscribed and pinned more than one lovely photo!
Happy Valentines Day to you and your hubby!

Thank you Mary for this beautiful post, which is a wealth of inspiration for Valentine’s Day, from beautiful tablescapes to yummy treat recipes. My husband and I enjoy shopping together for Valentines’s Day Cards and gifts for our five grandchildren, our children and special friends. I love to prepare a special Valentines dinner for us, which we share at home and then cuddle up on the sofa and watch a movie. ❤️❤️❤️

LOVE the display of beautiful dishes for valentines day….especially the bee hive plate!!! I love to decorate the house with my collection of valentine decorations. Then I like to make a special ‘heart shaped’ dinner for my husband served on some valentine plates. None of them are as beautiful as the ones you’ve displayed though…ha LOVE the idea you posted using heart shaped strawberries on a skewer…..I’m definitely doing that this year. THANKS for your post….so much fun to look at!!

I look forward to your posts everyday. You have such a flair for visual beauty that I truly enjoy. Always something to learn and try. My husband and I will be celebrated our 50th anniversary this summer. Needless to say, we have seen many Valentines Days come and go. We just enjoy being together now and do not feel the need to go out and be fancy. We are both so lucky to still be together and Valentines is a day to really be grateful for that. I wish you a special day too and am looking forward to tomorrow’s post.

Everything looks so beautiful. I am in deep envy for all of your tea and dishware items. I love all of your settings but the “Alice in Wonderland” tugs at my heart! My father read the book to me as a child and when he became ill, I read it to him.

For me, Valentine’s Day is all about chocolate! I create a fabulous chocolate dessert and try to do something new and unique each year. Sometimes I host a Valentine dinner party for friends. Other times I deliver my chocolaty concoctions to friends & neighbors in boxes adorned with hearts and bows. It’s a fun way to let them know they are loved and appreciated!

Mary, it delights to review all your wonderful valentine themed tables. Each one makes my heart sing! Like you, I give treat myself to a little valentine love by adding touches around the house and on the table. Hearts and flowers definitely go hand in hand with Valentine’s Day! I’m giving the snowmen one more week in the spotlight, but a few hearts have crept in. Absolutely love the flowered heart shaped plates. Adorable!!!

    Hi Mary,
I prefer to spend Valentine’s Day by having my grown married children along with their children over for dinner. I like setting the table making a nice presentation even if we are a little crowded in my small kitchen. You have given me many, many great holiday/seasonal ideas and I use what I have to copy your “prettiness” as best as I can.

I love the Valentine’s dishes. I always set a “Tablescape” for each season/holiday for my own enjoyment on my dining room table! I have 5 granddaughters. My Valentine’s has been spent with them. As each one has gotten old enough, she joins the celebration!
Since the oldest was about 10 (she’s now 25) we have gone on a St. Valentine’s “date”. We choose a restaurant we have never been to. I make them little gift bags and they have started giving me their wonderful works of art! It’s the very best way to spend the day dedicated to Love!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful tables I look forward to looking at them at the end of the day. Our family celebrates by having a home cooked meal. Each person makes something special to share. We have several recipes that are only used on holidays and birthdays. This usually works but once we ended up with four desserts. lol

  121. January 28, 2020 at 12:50 am

Mary, each week you out do the previous week. Not only are your photographs outstanding, but you don’t have ads on your blog. I subscribe by email and pinned the floral arrangements and I love that heart shaped spoon. I will spent my Valentine’s Day with Cirque du Soleil chat version (my cats).

  122. January 28, 2020 at 2:00 am

I love these round up posts of yours, they are always so inspiring! I don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day. Ever since my husband passed away, nearly 4 years ago, I’ve played it very low-key. The first anniversary of my father’s passing will be February 12, so I’m just going to be kind to myself this year.

I could never pick a favorite table each is unique and wonderful. This year I hit a blank as I looked over my Valentine’s Day decor. My style has changed over the years and of course they don’t have what I’m needing anywhere! I’m sure Home Goods thinks I’m casing the place I’m there so much!
We’re having a little dinner party for my 2 sisters and husbands. We’re getting older and we all realize we need to make couple togetherness time a priority. So that’s what I’m doing and can’t wait.
Thank you for sharing so much.

You my dear you have opened a whole new world for me by happening on your blog. I always look for your new post in my e-mails. I love to look at beautiful table settings and your’s are the best. I too always keep my dinning room table set for when guest come over. I am so inspired by your blog that I would love to start a blog my self. I am a retired designer so design is my life. I no longer have my business but I miss the the design business so much. I thought maybe a blog would help my yearning for the design part of my life that I left. I love those heart shaped dishes so delicate. I have always been a romantic at heart so naturally those dishes caught my eye. I have been with my husband 53 years and I truly can say he is still my best friend/soul mate I feel very Blessed to have shared my life with this man by my side. What will we do Valentine’s day share with our Granddaughters gift’s and dinner with family that to me will be the best celebration there possibly could be.Thanks, Cher

I love each and every gorgeous Valentine’s Day tablescape you have created…whether it be in the Potting Shed, a table set in the house, the porch, and the boat!….Even though I love going out to dinner for Valentine’s Day, lately I am preferring a quiet evening at home enjoying the company of loved ones. Thank you for all of your inspiration and making us smile with each and every image.

    Hi,
We will be celebrating at home as my husband loves to cook! My birthday is February 10th and I remember my great grandmother making me a cherry nut heart shaped cake when I was little!
We will have a wonderful spinach salad with red sliced strawberries with a balsamic dressing and red lobsters too.
After all, we live in New England😉
My daughter and her boyfriend will be coming for the Valentine festivities and I would love to add the beautiful heart plates to the table scape.

  175. February 4, 2020 at 9:30 am

I celebrate Valentine Day by, what else, decorating. My hutch, my table, wreaths, towels, soaps. Whatever I can find, either in my collection or currently in stores (favorites: Marshalls, Home Goods…) Before they were in school, when my children were babies, tots, I decided to excite and teach them about special days by decorating. They loved to get involved, MISS those days so much. (still hoping for grandchildren)

First off, I am a subscriber but I have a love/hate relationship with your blog. Ha! I adore your tablescapes and think they truly are the best around. But typically most every post of yours has me scurrying out into retail land trying to find the plates, flatware, cute trucks, etc. you so artfully showcase. Ya know, GOTTA HAVE THEM! But I love it all and wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks so much for sharing your talents (and pups!!!) with us, Mary. You are appreciated.

Hubby and I seldom go out anymore…40 years of marriage will do that to you. I will be preparing a beef tenderloin for Valentines Day this year. It was supposed to be our Christmas dinner but those plans fell through. It has a yummy shallot sauce that goes with it and I hope it turns out as good as the previous time I made it. Yum.

    Thanks!!!

My Hubble and I enjoy each other’s company so we always just keep it simple and private on Valentines Day and stay home, Although my table setting isn’t as elaborate or beautiful as yours, I try to make our dining room decor special for our Valentine dinner… sending many thanks your way.. 💕

Thanks so much for your blog. You share so many happy ideas. This Valentine’s Day my hubby of 52 years and I will probably make a delicious dinner together, Maybe a salmon dish (wild caught) and I will make his favorite desert — Lemon Meringue Pie. You make it all right to be a dish-a-holic. Though I don’t add anything to my collections these days unless I can give something away. Our two sweet Welch Corgis, Will and Grace, will get a special treat. Keep up your hard work, it brings pleasure to so many people and you have a happy Valentine’s Day also.

II always look forward to your posts. Your creativity and beautiful decor always puts a smile in my face. I am always going back and living at all your older posts. As for Valentine’s Day ours is very low keyed. I usually get roses but for the last 3 years I am not at home on valentines day as I go
Out of town to visit my life long friend and we spend time antiquing, thrifting and shopping. We treat ourselves to a great dinner

This post was so gorgeous – my favorite I think! Every year for Valentine’s Day my hubby and I stay in with our 4 kids and order Chinese food. Then the day after we hit the chocolate store for half-price valentine goodies! A sweet and frugal tradition!💕
