      Oh Mary,
Halloween is by far my favorite day of the year, and I love your spooktacular table settings, and decorations. You give us all so many wonderful ideas and share such fun ways for us all to enjoy this fall time of the year. I LOVE the potting shed and the ways that you change it for the seasons and holidays.
My absolute favorite treat is the candy apple. I’ve loved them since my first bite as a child and it still remains my favorite fall treat. The smell and taste of cinnamon brings fall to the front of the line.

We love Halloween! Our favorite treat is a witch head cake we have been making with our family for over 40 years now! We Started making it when my children were young and now I love making it with our grand girls. You bake one 9” square cake, then cut in triangles- The largest wedge becomes witches face, other her hat and small corner piece is nose. Tint part of white icing for face and part for hat, leaving the rest white for her hair. Sprinkle white icing with coconut for hair, and add candies for her eyes and mouth. I love all your fun Halloween decor! It’s the best! Xo

My favorite Halloween treat is the Witch’s Potion Popcorn. I replace the candy corn with orange M&Ms. This is such a versatile recipe because you can change the ingredients to match the holiday or event – Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, or tailgate (no tailgate this year). You are very generous with the giveaways!

You have really outdone yourself on this one! Fabulous! Thanks for posting. I know that it took a lot of time to put that all together. For some reason, when I think Halloween, I think candy corn. I can’t eat but a couple of pieces because it is so sweet but that is my first thought.

Halloween is my favorite ‘holiday’. Girly-squeeee! My favorite Halloween treat has to be the Reese’s pumpkins. Also the orange Oreo’s. Not considered a treat but delicious is the Spooky Lasagna Soup recipe you posted and I have made it several times. Even hubby loves the floating eyeballs.

Wow, Mary! What a way to lift spirits (no pun intended!) One thing i miss with clicklist shopping is seeing the seasonal treats, but I recently saw one my favorites elsewhere and added it to my own list – candy corn (I mix it with peanuts). Mr. P, and I both love that this time of year. I pinned that potting shed tablescape, it’s so perfect, and will bring me back to ALL of these seasonally inspired links. No fur babies in my immediate household but I have granddogs, and I’m all in on your giveaway. Your love of this holiday has definitely rubbed off – I’m even into making Halloween tablescapes now! Seven years – wow, no bad luck for us subscribed readers, it’s all good!

Proud card carrying member here of The Society. I love Halloween so much I chose it as my wedding day 39 years ago! Yep, Hubby and I have been scary together since !981! Frightening, huh? Ha! Haven’t been treat shopping yet, but as I was trying to rearrange and organize my jillions of dollars worth of decorations, I came upon some Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins from last year. I know…leftovers that nobody ate? Horrors! How the heck did that happen? Anyway, in the times we find ourselves in now I don’t waste one speck of food so I’ve been gobbling those things down right and left. They’re scary good!

    Happy Halloween!!!

What a generous give away! I love trying your recipes. I pinned the Witches Potion Popcorn, and hope to make it this weekend when we watch Mulan on Disney Plus with our grandchildren. As for candy, I always try to hold back a few Mounds bars from the bowl for the trick-or-treaters. I wonder what trick-or-treat will look like this year.

Oh Mary what a great Halloween selection and generous giveaway! The past posts bring back some great memories of making some of the recipes, searching Goodwill for some black witchy garden boots but the ones I finally found were not as cute as yours and sharing Rod and Rowena with my husband-the one where they are on the boat dock! I like mixing candy corn with peanuts and seasonal M&Ms. I am a member of the society. Thank you so much for taking me down memory lane this am!

Ah how fabulous everything looks! I absolutely love all that you have done. My favorite candy for Halloween is of course candy corn and it is addictive I think. I would love to be a member of the Good Witch Society, black hats are my favorite. From one of your posts years ago I went and bought a skeleton from Grandin Road and other things and you were so right, they are all awesome. I am so sad tho because this year we were supposed to host the Halloween Neighborhood Bash Costume Party and with covid, everything in our group has been cancelled. BUT I am still saving ideas for next year. I was planning on making some of your goodies, ah well. To everything here is a season right? Hope I am a lucky winner! Thank you for all of your wonderful and fun inspiration!

This is the cutest Halloween gathering of goodies! I was going to skip Halloween decorating this year, but I think you just reminded me how much fun it is, even though we won’t have those little ones knocking on our doors. So many favorites here, especially the witches legs and vase arrangement with candy corn in it. I live very close to Salem (OR) and my favorite Halloween sign says “Not All Witches Live in Salem!”.

  50. Gail G Stephens
    September 18, 2020 at 9:45 am

You have the best dogs. Most i know would be barking at the skeletons, not sitting on the bench with them. I would love the “doggie bag” for my grandogs. My favorite treat is plain kraft caramels. I only allow myself to buy them once a year at halloween and it does not take me long to consume the bag. I loved when i got them in my sack at trick or treat time.

  51. September 18, 2020 at 9:51 am

My favorite treat is Reese’s peanut butter cups. This post is amazing. I pinned several of the recipes and am anxious to try them.

Mary, love all your genius. I’m excited for Halloween this year, as my 36yo son will come to Colorado from Austin to celebrate. It was a special request from his 4yo niece, to come and dress up for the occasion. As a Death Metal drummer, he would love any of the skeleton gifts. I will be making him a skeleton wall hanging, which I have had for a while. Retirement gives me time for such endeavors.
I’m a corn candy girl all the way. I pinned your garden witch’s shoes. So unique! Also, loving being a subscription member. Thank you for making my day a little brighter.

  56. September 18, 2020 at 10:13 am

Great giveaways. My favorite treat of Halloween is my annual Halloween party for my grandchildren. Been doing this about 10 years. Some years are amazing, some are tough. All are blessed though as I’ve been doing despite having cancer. This may be my final party so I’m going out with a bang!

My favorite Halloween candy is Candy Corn, not to eat but to use for decorating. I’ve made melted candy platters & small bowls. I have used as filler in double flower vase with yellow spider mums.

I usually have about 150 trick or treaters every year, and I absolutely love seeing all of them. I sincerely hope they will be allowed this year. Your witchy dishes are the cutest ever!!!

We had candy through spring! Love your posts!

This is a Bewitching post! Halloween is my favorite holiday and you never fail to provide inspiration for new ways to celebrate! I cannot even list how many of your creations have been replicated and added to my annual Halloween decor and treats for the table. I have searched in vain for those gorgeous black leather boots! My favorite candy is the Halloween PEEPS by Just Born Quality Confections which is headquartered in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Sadly, Just Born has recently announced that due to the effects of Covid-19 the Halloween shapes and flavors will not be available this year…nor will the Christmas editions. Good Luck to all in winning one of these marvelous prizes! Thank-YOU!

Oh Mary! You are so incredibly generous! You even beat-out the good witch Glenda! Hehe. All of your special vignettes, the witches shoes the tablescapes, the very fashionable skeletons, remind me of my childhood when Halloween was fun. I especially like the sweet vintage postcards, takes me back to easier, kinder times. 🍊🍂 The sweet pictures of Lola and Sophie cracked me up, I really laughed out loud. I’ll pass on the entry and leave it to all the other “trick or treaters”, but you did a super great post. Also, want you to know the apple-pecan-carmel cake mentioned in the last post is yummy good. My 3 sisters and hubbies enjoyed their pieces and we did too. What a great fall treat! I did notice though that the vanilla needs to be added to number 2 under the cake instructions and yes you were so right, that was one thick batter, but oh, so good! Thank you for another “keeper” which goes in my “Mary’s – Home Is Where the Boat Is” 3 ring binder cook book! Love ya girl! ♥️ Happy Fall! 🍊🍂🍊🍂🍊🍂

I also don’t mind Candy Corn mixed with peanuts for the Payday feel. But really……what witch would turn away any kind of Halloween goodies? :-)

I look forward to your POSTs all the time. You are very creative, I like your style. I work doing a left brain job and reading your POST helps me get inspired to decorate and enjoy my home. Love the pictures of your dogs!!! Love everything about your POST, not to scary, but fun spirited. I like what you did with the oreo cookies as witch legs/socks. My favorite Halloween treats: Halloween themed M&M’s, Oreo cookies, and Mr. Goodbars. I don’t know how to Pin, but will find out how and Pin. Also, I live in Southern California, border of LA & Orange Counties. The LA Major has banned “Trick or Treating” Halloween Carnivals and gatherings this year because of COVID-19. I will miss the young creative costume creatures knocking for treats this year. But, I am still decorating!!!

Every year since my sister’s children were very small, we have an annual family “Fright Night”. . . .they always look forward to their Aunt Kelly’s special Halloween treat—hot buttered popcorn with peanut M&Ms mixed in! Frightfully delicious and perfect for scary movie night double features! PS. The “kids” are all grown now, yet we all still gather for this tradition, snuggled under neath autumn patterned throws while wearing our Halloween socks!

Grand Witch Mary… as a lowly untalented member of the society I must protest that you are requesting that we limit our selection to only one favorite treat… I mean, eye of newt and tongue of spider are obviously at the top of every good witches list but I believe we should lure in the mere mortals by pretending we like their “goodies” so I will throw out my suggestion… popcorn ball.. witch jamie….

  206. September 25, 2020 at 8:31 pm

Mary, I think you know each and every one of these ideas thrill this Halloween enthusiast. I say this frequently, but honestly this post alone could be a complete book. Your ideas and photo presentation is stellar. Makes me want to fly right into these charming tableaus. As much as I adore each and every one of these generous gifts, I’ll leave my name out of the hat. Remodel still in process here, and honestly I’m not sure any of the Halloween totes will make it down from the attic this fall. Between COVID isolation and three rooms packed away, I’m reluctant to bring much out.
I’m in awe of your talent. I’m going to start a Pinterest Board of just Mary holidays! I want a quick reference to these creative ideas. Happy Days ahead, dear friend!

Thank you for your kind and generous comment Sarah! {blush} I know you must be weary of your renovation and beyond ready to have your house and garden back when you can’t escape and travel some while that is going on. I hope it wraps up sooner rather than later and COVID will in the rear view mirror for all of us in a few months. Happy Weekend to you, Sadie and the Chef. ♥

  212. September 28, 2020 at 9:45 am

I love Halloween! This holiday is a special reminder of my childhood. We always created homemade costumes with the help of my mom. She made every holiday come to life! Some of the costumes I remember we created were the Quaker Oats round box to wear, A movie theater cup of coke Including the logo and a box of popcorn. We had so much fun making these and more. This tradition carried into my adult years for Halloween party’s. Creating wearable Halloween party table costumes. All of your table settings have given me some great ideas for more party table costumes. Your witchy dishes are the cutest ever!! My all time favorite candy is Reese peanut butter cups, but I will take anything chocolate!

  213. September 28, 2020 at 10:26 am

Mary, I think this Halloween is the best ever! I’ve saved to Pinerest your terrific ideas so I won’t forget how to make them, they are all over the top wonderful! This year Dollar Store had plastic wine goblets with skeleton hands, closest to the ones you have used in the past, I bought 12! I needed to make a broom to go with the child’s witch dress I hung on the window under the hanging twinkle lights, timely directions…thank you! I love chocolate, so Halloween is my favorite with so many choices, but to decide on one, it will have to be Reeses Peanutbutter cups, yum! Thank you each season’s decorating and baking idea’s, I love them all, never too old to decorate and have fun!!! Debbie
