My favorite memory goes back to childhood on our small Iowa farm. My mom would buy striped shortbread cookies and chocolate drops (cone shaped candies) to make “turkey” cookies. We used a piece of candy corn fo the wattle. I did this with my granddaughters, then 7 and 3 years old last year. I already have the sweet supplies to make them this year and hope to add my third and fourth granddaughters – just shy of 3 and 2 years old. We have added Wilton “eyes” for our current rendition of the Thanksgiving turkey cookie and I think we’ll make Pilgrim hats with some of the cookies too.

Thanks for the wonderful Thanksgiving food and tablescape ideas.
I just pinned the Potato Gratin recipe….I can’t wait to try it. I think it would go nicely with pork also. I have made the shooters before for Thanksgiving and they are a hit. The pumpkin granola is a regular in out household year around. I love that it has no oil in it. I would love to win one of the dishes, as I have a passion for dishes.
Oh my, oh my, oh my! You finally posted that popcorn recipe again and I printed it this time!!!!! When I went to your link, I was the first one to reply. I know I have made it in the past but I don’t know what I did with the recipe, but I have a place for it now. I am so glad you posted it again. All of your recipes on this post look so yummy
My most memorable thing about Thanksgiving is the Johnson Brothers Turkey Dishes “His Majesty”. I have been eating Thanksgiving dinner on them since I was a little girl. I love the one you are offering for a prize as well. You have a nice collection,
A favorite Thanksgiving tradition in our home involves using a felt turkey head that I son made in first grade. The head fits on the end of a fresh pineapple and the pineapple leaves become the tail feathers of the turkey. The turkey is always a part of a centerpiece on the dining room table or the sideboard. This treasured handmade item is now over 40 years. old and still brings memories of our son proudly bringing it home from school. I have been a subscriber for a few years and always look forward to your weekly posts.
I pinned the photo of the table settings in your potting shed – so festive!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday celebrating the beauty of autumn, family and friends and delicious food!! A favorite tradition is preparing delicious family favorites for our Thanksgiving meal while the Macy’s parade plays in the background. Pie baking and the smell of turkey, there’s nothing else like it! Thank you for your blog Mary…it blesses and inspires! I would be honored to win one of your beautiful “Toms”! Jerrie
I pinned your adorable turkey cupcakes and beautiful collage! Thanks for the chance to win.
🦃🍂🍁 Jerrie
We MUST have the parade on TV on Thanksgiving morning while the turkey is roasting. Of course “mom’s” stuffing is the favorite food, no matter who the “mom” is! All your recipes and ideas are fabulous! I’ll be using several this holiday season. I would be thrilled to win the turkey plate! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! :) Ann
What a blessing it was to see your post this morning! I am hosting dinner for my Bunco group this week and these recipes are perfect. I was already making the Pumpkin Spice Bundt cake because I’ve made it before and it’s delicious! But now I may have to add the fall leaves as snacks for the table. I can’t wait to try several of the other recipes for Thanksgiving with my family – even though we have our traditional favorites, we love to try new recipes. My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is traveling to see my family – my Aunt is 99 this year. Also, seeing my daughter in the Macy’s parade is a favorite memory! My favorite food is mom’s cornbread stuffing and lots of gravy. I’m a long time follower and subscriber and I’ve pinned the Thanksgiving Table with Assorted Tom Turkeys. Thanks so much for your generous giveaway! Happy Thanksgiving to you.
So many favorites on thanksgiving it’s hard to pick just one! But I really do look forward to the pies. I really do enjoy a delicious homemade apple pie and I guess that’s probably my favorite!

Amazing how Thanksgiving foods bring back such wonderful memories. Lovely Turkey plates. I have my mother’s Hutch and it is used daily holding my dishes. I have seasonal plates I change out, but no Turkey plate. That would be lovely to display on that old Hutch.
Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
I pinned the Royal Stafford plate that you are giving away…I’m hoping to add that to my Tom dishes…thanks for more great recipes and lovely table dressings!!

This is one of my favorite holidays and even with all the difficulties we have faced in the past year and a half we have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Thankyou Mary for all you do to inspire us to celebrate every time of year.
I printed out most of your recipes! I will definitely use them! My favorite is hard to say but probably the cranberry apple pumpkin Bundt cake!
My mom has had similar dinnerware by Johnson and Johnson which I have always loved.at e I’ll be lucky to win in your contest!

Pumpkin pie, and being with Family
Wonderful round up of your beautiful recipes from the archives Mary! We will be at the beach house for Thanksgiving and can’t decide if we want to do traditional or go rogue with something completely new…it will probably be a combination. The turkey plates are beautiful. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is being with family 🦃
Jenna
My favorite Thanksgiving dish is southern cornbread dressing. Yum.
I pinned the 5 minute centerpiece although I have many of your posts pinned. I am a subscriber.
My favorite part of the day is hearing what each person gathered around the Thanksgiving table is most thankful for. Some shares make us laugh, some make us cry and some make us reflect more deeply. The food it simply a great excuse for a rich and extended conversation with family and friends!
My family’s favorite food: the leftovers! So we always make two turkeys! Leftovers come out as early as late Thanksgiving night when someone steals away to the kitchen to make a cold turkey sandwich on a leftover dinner roll with a dab of mayo and a sprinkle of salt and pepper, or a dab of cranberry sauce and cream cheese if they’re feeling adventurous! The day after we make turkey crescent pockets (everyone’s favorite) and serve those with leftover mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. Taste even better than the main event! We all laugh that leftovers make all the work of preparing a Thanksgiving feast worth it!
In the Spirit of the holiday, thank you Mary, for all you do to curate such a GORGEOUS site with SO MUCH INSPIRATION! I ALWAYS open your posts, but I wait until I have the time to savor whatever it is you’ve dished up for the week. I am often moved to try/copy your ideas. And sometimes I just look at your pictures and feel uplifted. A sort of beautiful visual meditation of your creativity and artistry. You have a gift and I am so appreciative that you share it with all of us. Thank you!
P.S. Please enter my in your drawing for a Tom plate! I, too, am a lover of eclectic place settings and a beautifully set table!
Favorite tradition…. Just being together with family and friends around a thanksgiving table…nothing better…
I pinned the 5 minute centerpiece… perfect compliment to your collection of Tom plates.. just beautiful
I have been subscribed to your blog for years.. wouldn’t miss visiting with you for every creative post….HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and your family…
Next to Halloween…Thanksgiving is my 2nd favorite Holiday…It makes me so sad that Xmas seems to come right after Halloween…and now more than ever we all need to focus on our blessings and things we are thankful for.
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is as follows….and this is so very special. A week or so before Thanksgiving I get with my grandchildren…and we go through each member of the family as well as the puppy dog. They tell me why they are thankful for each person…some are serious..some are funny…I type all of these up and cut them individually into strips. I fold them up and roll them individually into the crescent rolls. Before we eat each person tears their croissant roll and reads the Thankful note. This goes on throughout the dinner as people get seconds until the rolls are gone. We have done this for years….and it is so meaningful and fun. Adults and kids love it!
Thanks Mary…for the blessing you are to so many of us. We are all so thankful for you and the joy and inspiration that you bring to so many. These recipes look amazing….can’t wait to start cooking and would love a platter to display or serve on.
Every family has one thing that it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without. In my family, it is my sister, Ursula’s crescent rolls. We’ve been making these rolls every Thanksgiving for over 30 years. My daughter started having migraines as an adult and through her food diary discovered that any freshly baked yeast bread or rolls triggered a migraine for her. Consequently, I have had to start making the rolls the day before Thanksgiving so that she could continue to enjoy them. After a few seconds in the microwave, they taste just as if I had made them that very morning!
Thanks for all the wonderful recipes to try. Thanksgiving means family and friends and, of course, the food. For the first time, a friend hosted a Friendsgiving at her house with our circle of camping friends and we had so much fun and her house was wonderfully decorated. And now looking forward to a traditional get-together with our family.
I have pinned many photos over the years from your site. Today, I pinned the table setting and, I too, am collecting separate turkey plates to use all month long.
One of my favorite things from our family Thanksgiving dinners was my grandmother’s candied yams with melted marshmallows on top. The next would be my grandmother’s pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream. Of course, the turkey and dressing was the star. Thank you for sharing your recipes. I love the Tom Turkey “tureen” on your table. It is stunning.
Hi all – There’s not enough time in the day to do all the baking I love to do this time of year. Looking forward to trying out some of these recipes (if not all of them)! You may have already looked but here’s the link to the fabulous 3-d Harvest Loaf pan on Amazon.
Hi Melody, That’s the pan used in my Pumpkin Loaf with Cream Cheese Swirl. The link is in the post. :)
What a fabulous round-up of Thanksgiving recipes! I always like to try one new dish for our big meal. Thank you, Mary and Happy Monday!
I pinned the photo of the vegetable platter because even though I don’t love vegetables, you made them look so delicious and they’re so good for you. I’m definitely going to make this for Thanksgiving.
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is to invite some Marines from the local base to Thanksgiving dinner. They get to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner even though they can’t go home. We are grateful for their service to our country and learn so much from them.
What a wonderful post and giveaway. My favorite tradition is going around the table and saying what we are thankful for. It teaches the little ones about being grateful. We also open crackers. It’s a toss up for favorite food between the sausage stuffing and my homemade cranberry sauce with strawberries and mandarin oranges in it. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.
This is one of my favorites of your blogs! So many beautiful and fun ideas. I loved the Nutter Butter turkey cupcakes, which I will do for my granddaughters. I also loved the Deviled eggs and the Pom and Pear Sangria ideas. Thank you so much for this incredible blog.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is old-fashioned stuffing. It is a recipe from my maternal grandmother. This is a lovely giveaway.
I am a subscriber and I pinned the colored Turkey plate.
Marion
I remember every Thanksgiving gong to my grandmother’s house . She would have everything on a side table including chocolate pudding for me since as a little girl I did not like pies. Cranberry sauce is my favorite Thanksgiving food. I do like pies now.
Joan
Every year my mother would got out the Turkey platter that was her mother’s. My favorite food is Turkey with cranberry sauce.
Marilyn
Oh Thank You Mary for this amazing and inspirational Round Up for Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is a wee bit different for us now. First off we are hosting a Friendsgiving here in AZ this weekend! Then soon after we will head back to the LakeHouse so that family can gather with us at the Lake a few days after Thanksgiving. That way the kids who are older adults now can start their own traditions on Turkey Day. By the time they get to our place… Turkey won’t really be needed as we will have had our fill of it. So we will start a new tradition of Food Favorites from our Slovak Roots. But we will add lots of Thanksgiving accompaniments as well as desserts! I got all the ingredients and jars for Pumpkin Butter! I’m making it tomorrow to hand out at our Friendsgiving! Thank you so much for the recipe!
I pinned the Bundt Cake and of course the Maple Pumpkin Butter! Yum! Thank you!
Thank you for all these amazing ideas and the chance to win!! My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing!!
I pinned the Puff Pastry Turkeys, the Cranberry-Pecan Pie Crust Leaves, the Potato Gratin, and the Pimento Cheese Deviled Egg Pumpkins!!
Thank you for rounding up all your Thanksgiving ideas, Mary. The Turkey snack board and the dessert board are both such fun ideas. My favorite Thanksgiving food is pecan pie. Thanks for your fun giveaways, Mary!
Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway! Your Thanksgiving ideas are wonderful and inspiring. My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing!
Wow…this post is filled with amazing recipes and decorating tips!!! My favorite Thanksgiving food is Southern Cornbread Dressing with chicken gravy. I say chicken gravy because I boil a whole chicken like making chicken & dumplings without the dumplings. Delicious over dressing. It’s a hit with everyone. Wonderful giveaway. Love this turkey plate!! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Well, I’m the only one left who eats it but favorite food is my “famous only in my own mind” cranberry jello salad. Hubby won’t touch it with a ten foot pole…he can truly get on my last Thanksgiving nerve. Ha!!!
Thankful for this and all your other giveaways, Mary. Wishing you and yours a lovely Thanksgiving.
So may posts to Pin! Today I added, A Thanksgiving Table with Turkey Plates, Plaid and Pumpkin-Oak Leaf Runner.
Your Roasted Vegetables recipe has been a favorite staple of my family ever since I first saw it in your blog. We make it during the year as well as Thanksgiving. One of the many favorite things of Thanksgiving dinner is a southern cornbread dressing which got dubbed “funny stuff” by my girls when they were little. So we must also have funny stuff! My mother’s pumpkin pie is the highlight of the meal for us.
We are thankful for just being together after all that has happened in our country these last couple of years.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
Too bad you don’t have any holiday spirit… 😋
I love all things autumn and especially enjoy decorating my table along with my home. It is a privilege to bring out a few of my fall teacups given me by a special aunt to add to the decor! pinned the turkey plate because it has a great touch of blue but especially love the tablecloth you used as it has such great blues in it. I obviously have a lot of blue in my home and like to add those touches to the autumn oranges, reds, and browns.
Wishing you a lovely Thanksgiving!🍁
Growing up, we’d go to my grandmother’s, then aunt and uncle’s for Thanksgiving dinner. My brother then took it over for about 35 years, but gave it up two years ago. We joined with one sister and family in 2019, but due to the pandemic, it will just be my son and me for the past two years. I brought meals to two neighbors last year, and may do the same this. Have a few TG decorations, including a cornucopia with fake rubber fruit that I’ve had since 1968! I used to bring it to school and have my students draw still lifes. I have it on the mantel with a fall oil painting that my aunt painted, remembering the traditions.
Hi Mary, I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and you are certainly the queen of wonderful and fun dishes to serve my family. We service a traditional Thanksgiving feast with one “experimental” dish every year but my favorite will always remain Sweet Potato Casserole. Why we don’t serve it throughout the year I don’t know but I love it. After dinner here in MI we either toss the football around or play in the snow! I’ll be making these cute turkey cupcakes for the grands this year and the turkey board for the grown kids. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the pooches!
I posted the cute cupcakes!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is being with family. We lost our first sibling (out of 5) this year so it makes me really appreciate life with loved ones all the more. Please let your family know how much you love them.
Mashed potatoes and gravy and a really good cornbread stuffing….my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Yum!
I pinned one of your turkey plates (I love them all!) and many of your Thanksgiving recipes to my Fall Into Autumn board. It’s more like, what didn’t I pin…lol. Love, love, love your blog Mary!
All of November I enjoy my turkey items about the house-old planters, figurines, salt and peppers, and plates. I love them all! You have great recipes and table styling. Thanks for the giveaway!
Since I always had to work on Thanksgiving when my kids were young, my husband and daughter made our Thanksgiving dinner using an assortment of family and friend’s recipes. It was such a treat to come home to this wonderful meal after a long day at work. Even though I am now retired, my husband continues the “tradition” of making our holiday dinner.
I love your turkey plates, Mary, and have a small collection as well.
Wow Mary so much yummy food. I love how you are so creative with food and it is presented beautifully. I will keep coming back to check on these recipes. Difficult to pick a favorite. I have pinned quite a few. Love the turkey appetizer board.
Love your post. Have been following from everyday living. I’ve pinned your plates- I love dishes- to my husbands dismay😳
My favorite thanksgiving memories are having dinner at moms. She always made a special heavenly hash and we had sweet potato casserole.
Loved your recipes- looking forward to trying quite a few😁thanks for sharing
Our newest tradition is Thanksgiving bingo! I gather prizes suitable for every member of the family and we play after dinner and before dessert. Three generations can play and enjoy this event with everyone picking out a fabulous prize! I love your Thanksgiving ideas and recently made the Maple Pumpkin Butter – which I pinned to make again next year. Delicious!
Mary, thanks for taking the time to put together this round-up post. So many ideas, and I sent a link to my daughter because she will love it! Thanks for hosting the giveaway, too. I would love a turkey plate! ( I have been a subscriber to your blog for years. ) My favorite Thanksgiving food is turkey with cranberry sauce. :D
My sister’s homemade cranberry sauce and cornbread dressing are my favorites.
Yum, yum YUM! So many good recipes and I have enjoyed making many. Thank you Mary for supplying us with such good food! My Tom Turkey plates are standing tall in the plate grove on my hutch and I just love looking at them. Forgot to get out my Tom Turkey gravy boat similar to yours so he will come out tomorrow. I’ll pass on the entry as I am a former winner, but I LOVE some good mashed potatoes and my sister awesome turkey gravy ! ( and of course all the rest, hehe). 🦃 ♥️
Mary I love your Thanksgiving posts and always look forward to them… my favorite memories include family, the parade, oyster dressing and my moms pecan tarts and turkey hash made the day after! I love this turkey plate 💗 I am a long time subscriber too. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!!
Love the Royal Staffordshire dinnerware and the beautiful tablescape you have created! Our favorite tradition is to use matching scrabble letters (draw a scrabble tile and find your match at the table) to determine where everyone is seated at the table. During dinner each person talks about something they are thankful for that starts with their scrabble letter.
Hi Mary!
I love looking at all your ideas for the Holidays and year round. I’ve been a subscriber for many years! The pumpkin cheese cake I make every year is a family favorite. I pinned the Nutter Butter Turkey cupcakes, I love Nutter Butters!
Thank You for brightening my days especially during these trying times.
I pinned the beautiful photo of the turkey plate! Would love to start a collection.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is turkey and dressing – the dressing made in my grandmother’s cast iron skillet, just like she made it. My favorite tradition is having my whole family gathered together. Happy Thanksgiving!
I pinned the “5 minute centerpiece” photo!
I follow you by email, I enjoy your lovely tables.
A favorite tradition is homemade pecan pie with real whipping cream. We have it every Thanksgiving.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is Turkey gravy on mashed potatoes. You inspired me to collect Turkey plates, so I would love to win one.
I also subscribe by email.
Subscriber and pinner! Thanks for the chance!
My Grandmother was a school cook back when everything was from scratch. She always made sweet potato balls, and my sister has carried on the tradition. You mash your baked sweet potatoes with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon and leave a thick consistency. Mold the mixture around a large marshmallow, and roll in crushed cornflakes. Right before you sit down, pop them in the oven– just about 5 minutes or your marshmallow will disappear! The children love them!
We’re for simple dishes here. Absolutely my favorite is a baked sweet potato with a huge hunk of Wisconsin butter. Simple & Delicious! Why don’t we eat sweet potatoes more often?
