We have a New England favorite. Equal portions of Turnips and Carrots mashed with butter, salt and pepper, and a bit of half and half. More carrots = sweeter. Not too sweet = more turnips. Beautiful orange side dish. Helps balance all the rich Thanksgiving foods.
Love fall and thanksgiving is my favorite holiday . Family and delicious food ! My favorite food is dressing and gravy . My tradition is I always cook fresh cranberry sauce . I pinned one of your beautiful plates towards the end of this post . Always love seeing your beautiful Turkey plate collection . 🧡🍁 🦃
Mary, it’s so nice to have your lovely recipes for Thanksgiving in one place. Happy November. See you soon for the Thanksgiving blog Hop.
My favorite tradition is an EASY one! I make the cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries, a whole orange, sliced to fit into the blender, and sugar. Whirl and instant, delicious cranberry sauce. I love to use for leftover turkey sandwiches and it goes great with cheese for a toasty cheese melt. So simple and delicious.
Thanks for your wonderful turkey displays!
Such a wonderful collection of ideas for Thanksgiving!! My favorite Thanksgiving food is my grandmother’s cornbread dressing!
What a colorful, happy read to start your November days ahead. Recipes we have tried and enjoy, and more to explore. Think it will be Tom Turkey Dessert Plate. Seasoned bread cubes and lots of butter and vegetable broth. Add sage, a must some tine and rosemary and a good splash of woochester sauce. My oh my is it good, cooked in the bird and in a buttered casserole side dish,

I posted a photo of the Thanksgiving table with the turkey and mini pumpkins – so festive!
Thank you for all the tasty-looking recipes. Those Nutterbutter cupcakes made me laugh, SO creative!
Unfortunately, Thanksgiving traditions change as loved ones have passed. I pray new traditions will come and bring joy once again! One that was precious was for each person to share something for which they’re thankful. Young and not so young got to share…very special.
I won last year! And I was so thrilled! I actually brought the dish back with me from Pennsylvania this year as I am going to use it in my Decor here in AZ! Thank you once again! And thank you for this fabulous round up!
Mary, I love the thanksgiving “shed” so pretty for the season. I am already a follower, and very much enjoy reading your posts. My favorite thanksgiving food is the pumpkin pie, and your idea of the little ones in the muffin tin is genius!
Smiles, Sue
My time of the year is fast approaching. You have brought it to light with all of your pictures. Great job. I just love every thing you do with your tables capes. Everything is well pressed and neatly placed and so well thought out. I know I really love and appreciate all the time you put into your photo shoots. Now to the star of the season “Tom Turkey” who is front in center and looking good. I have been collecting since I was a little girl and now I am 71 years old so I have a large collection of different Toms. I have service for 8 guests with all different desert plates to go with it. I am very proud to have an antique turkey chocolate mold that is for 8 individual turkeys, so I can mold butter in each to put on everyone’s bread and butter plate. Also, I have a large chocolate turkey mold and I make pound cakes in them and use them in my decorations with my other deserts on my sideboard. You have given me so many ideas over the years. Thanks for keeping the memories flowing. Janet Ramsey
What a lovely giveaway Mary! Your recipe roundup has my tummy rumbling! Everything is so gorgeously presented, I want to come to your house for Thanksgiving!
Thanks for all the fun Thanksgiving recipes and ideas and the opportunity to win this beautiful platter!! My favorite Thanksgiving dish is a simple corn pudding!!
It’s all about the dressing in my household. Any changes are not acceptable. The recipe came from my husband’s grandmother.
Wow! Your recipes are delicious! I’ve gained weight just reading them! I saved at least three to my Pinterest page: the Roasted Harvest Salad, the Pecan Pie Muffins, the Caramel Pecan Pumpkin Bread, and at least one of the delicious looking Bundt cakes!
We’re in the south, so #1 Thanksgiving food is dressing. The second favorite food is pecan pie. I could literally make these two things and everyone would be happy!😂😂
Some really good ideas and recipes in this post. Thanks! I live in Virginia and my favorite Thanksgiving food is the sausage dressing we always have. So good!!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Ah, you made me start a new Pinterest board, LOL. So many nummy recipes. Definitely going with roasted veggies this year, we had a nice crop of carrots and parsnips! I may throw in some butternut squash too! Thanks for jump starting me! Hugs, Sandi
Good Morning,
It is hard to say what my favorite thing is. Most of all it is the family and friends gathering at the table. We are so blessed and we often fail to notice it. Love the Tom!

Just pinned the Turkey dinner dish! Could be dangerous if I win. The last time someone gifted me with a dish was my husband’s Grandma about 45 years ago. It was a Spode Christmas Tree China plate and 38 years later I had a setting for 12 people. I just proudly passed it on to my Niece since she now hosts the family dinnersl. I have to admit, I did hold back two dessert plates and the teapot. I have such a love for fine china!
I am a long time subscriber. My mother’s Southern Pecan Pie recipe is always a hit at Thanksgiving.
Lovely ideas! Will make the “pie” appetizers and turkey puff pastry cinnamon Tim’s with my granddaughters.
It is not Thanksgiving without sweet potatoes with a brown sugar crumble topping with chopped walnuts. Looks gorgeous in a copper dish.
Thanks for this collection of recipes and ideas to make this holiday bright. Our favorite tradition is playing Bingo after dinner for prizes, sometimes “white elephant” gifts. Also, when my SIL entered the family she brought her fresh cranberry relish that has apples and 2 mashed bananas which make it “oh so creamy”. Long time subscriber. Smile.
I pinned the Get Your Pie On appetizer because as a host we need to do simple appetizers. Smile.
I love these all these yummies on your page, it makes Thanksgiving very special. My family loves the smoked turkey my husband makes every year, and they always ask for Sweet Potatoe crack aka sweet potato casserole to go with it! This plate is special and beautiful. Thank you for all your fun recipes and ideas ..
My favorite Thanksgiving food is Canatle. It is a German dish made from bread, eggs and milk. You tear the bread into small pieces add eggs and milk to form round balls. The balls are deep fried until golden brown. Make ahead of time. On Thanksgiving day boil the Canatle in water for 20 minutes. Drain. Cut apart and put goblet gravy over top. This recipe was handed down thru 4 generations that I know of.
I saved the Turkey platter to Pinterest as well as the Apple Pumpkim Pecan Bundt cake
Can’t have Thanksgiving without our Southern cornbread dressing and giblet gravy! My grandmother always made sweet potato balls, with a marshmallow in the center. I sure miss those! Subscribed and pinned. Thanks
Mary,
All of these recipes are spectacular. Thanks for doing this. My favorite thanksgiving traditional food is cornbread dressing with turkey gravy. I had a large family get together about 10 years ago. and since then several members have passed so it was a very special day.
What a wonderful collection of delicious sounding items! I am definitely going to make a few. Our tradition involves writing out a slip or 2 of paper listing things which we are grateful for. Then we read these during our dinner with family. We always have a sweet potato casserole which mainly my daughter and I love and so we have a lot left over for breakfasts and lunches for the following week. Thank you for your inspiration.
Dressing – my Grandmother’s recipe – is a must have for us. These recipes sound delicious and I love trying something new each year.
Love all of your recipes and food ideas! I really want to try the pumpkin cream cheese bread as I have the loaf pan with pumpkins on top. The Tom plate would be a great addition to my Thanksgiving collection. I’ve been a long-time follower of your inspiring blog!! My family has many favorite and special foods, but my specialty is the dressing!! Thanks for your generous giveaway!
So many Great ideas!❤️ Well, I’ve tried to change things up a bit. But, everyone wants the same Traditional Dinner. It’s so good, so why change it! There is one thing missing that my mom always made. Her baked apples, I wish I would have paid attention to how she made them….
This is a fabulous post with so many wonderful ideas. I am thinking I will make the pecan cramnberry leaves t go with an appetizer. Our family tradition is roasted duck.
