Don’t do those much anymore, but do make son’s favorite cookie, soft Pumpkin Cookies with orange icing. I sprinkle them with red and green sprinkles to make them look “Christmasy.”

Nothing says Christmas like a chewy Ginger cookie. (Actually I like Ginger Snaps too!) That heavenly smell wafting through the house while they’re baking is wonderful during the holidays. My recipe for Taffy’s Star Cookies they are named for my cat who passed in 2006 i started making the cookies in 1996 and she was only 7 months old the recipe is over 125 years old it’s a lemon vanilla roll out cookie that you top with an egg wash they are the best i made them only in a star shape and i let her have a taste of the points i know cookies are not for cats but she asked so i let her taste it she talked to me and she never talked so ever since then i only make them as a star every christmas and i names them Taffy’s Star Cookies everyone tells me they are the best cookie they ever had i think it’s the love i still feel for her

I just finished making a delicious cookie for a Christmas gathering next week. It’s a chocolate cookie with a peppermint kiss in the middle of the warm cookie. Our Holiday tradition with the grandchildren is a Christmas Tea. I bake a basic sugar cookie recipe using holiday cutters and mix up colored frosting. The children have a blast decorating the cookies and then we serve them with tea. I hope they will never outgrow this tradition (my husband hasn’t!)

An annual tradition started by my mom, long ago, is baking Mexican Wedding Cookies aka Snowballs around our house.
Mary – another great collection of treats!! I make your bark for just about every holiday – my grandkids love it! I’m sad that the chocolate graham crackers are no longer available. When I couldn’t find them just before Easter, I thought perhaps it was a supply chain issue, but still cannot find them and Honey Maid does not show them on their website, so I guess they have been discontinued. Have not found another brand, so have been using the cinnamon ones. I put them on the pan upside down, so the cinnamon side hits the tongue when eating. The grandkids still loved them!
As I received one of your wonderful prizes last year at this time, please do not put me in the running for this one.

My mother began a tradition of making Christmas cookies when I was little. It has continued through the years with my now grown daughters, my daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, and now my granddaughter! My favorite cookie is oatmeal scotchies! My father and I always tell everyone they’re terrible, so no one eats them! Lol!

Hi Mary my favorite cookie is an Italian anise cookie that was passed down from my great grandmother. It is not Christmas if there are no anise cookies to share with family and friends
I don’t have the recipe, but my favorite of favorites was my mother’s REAL mince meat pie. Yum!
My favorite Christmas cookie is an old Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish cookie recipe called Sand Tarts. They are not very hard to make and everyone loves them.

By far my favorite Christmas Cookies are Cream Cheese Spritz cookies. I do them in all sorts of shapes, colors, flavors, etc. My family loves them and they are just the perfect little sweet with your afternoon tea. This is such a great post Mary. I look forward to it every year and just have to wonder when you will come out with a cookbook of your own. It would be great!

I couldn’t resist entering this generous giveaway. My favorite Christmas cookie is a decorated sugar cookie, particularly the beautiful ones that my daughter makes. Over the last few years she has perfected her decorating skills and creates beautiful works of art. But, a close second would be her delightful gingerbread men and ladies. I made your Owl cookies last Christmas and they were a big hit with my Grandkids.
My cookie baking HAS to include Ina Garten’s rugelach cookies. We share the cookie baking with family members and usually end up with at least a dozen different varieties!
