Black Bean and Olive Hummus with Spooky Spinach Tortilla Chips

Scare up some quick and spooky tortilla chips for dips or hummus using spinach tortillas and cookie cutters for Halloween.

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 15 ounce can black beans; drained
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 2.25 ounce can black olives, drained

Spooky Tortilla Chips

  • Package of spinach tortillas

  • Olive oil or baking spray
  • cookie cutters
  • sea salt


  • To make hummus:
    Mince garlic in the bowl of a food processor. Add all other ingredients processing until smooth, scraping down the sides of bowl as needed.
  • Add additional seasoning (cayenne pepper) to taste. Garnish with paprika if desired.

To Make Spooky Tortilla Chips

  • Using a spooky cookie cutters, cut out shapes in the tortillas. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Spritz with olive oil or baking spray and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes or until chips are crisp, but not brown. Allow to cool and serve with dip or hummus.
