Equipment

  • ice cube trays
  • blender

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 32 oz. plain yogurt Greek or regular, unsweetened and Xylitol free
  • 2 heaping tablespoons of *peanut butter *Make sure your peanut butter DOES NOT contain Xylitol, a natural sugar alcohol sweetener which is harmful to dogs
  • Small size dog biscuits, optional one per ice cube tray or container

Instructions

  • Place yogurt, banana and peanut butter in the blender or food processor and puree. (if mixture is too thick to pour into trays, thin with water as needed)
  • Place mixture in ice cube trays. Add a dog biscuit to mixture in ice cube tray for a tasty handle to pull the frozen treats out of the trays if desired. Allow to freeze solid.
  • When frozen, pop of out ice cube trays and transfer to zip top freezer bag to store until ready to give as a treat.

Notes

  • Make these frozen treats in ice cubes trays for smaller size treats or freeze your treats in a muffin pan, small paper cups, or plastic containers, adjusting for the size of your dog.
  • You can vary the ingredient: add an additional banana, more peanut butter, pumpkin puree, or leftover cooked oatmeal. Make sure your yogurt  and peanut butter DOES NOT contain artificial sweeteners (harmful to dogs) or added sugars.
  • These frozen treats are messy in hot weather so you’ll want to give them to your dogs where it’s easy to clean up.
