The will be lots to taste and see~

including a few visits to lavender festivals . . .

I made a discovery last week trying

to clean the chalkboard door in my Potting Shed

that you may already be aware of,

but it was a new & handy solution for me. . .

IMG_1135-001

Even though I had seasoned the chalkboard,

the writing was still visible after erasing,

leaving a ghosting image on the board.

IMG_1186-001

I used WD-40 on a soft cloth to wipe over the board

which removed the remaining chalk message,

restoring and renewing it!

starting Monday July 22nd!

Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances, our linen closet is always fresh, due to it. Have never tried it in recipes, although I have eaten cookies using lavender. Will you have some addresses where it could be purchased?

I have the cookbook and the lavender from a wonderful shop in Camden appropriately named The Lavender Shop.

Lavender in foods is a gift from the gods. Can’t see what you and the bakers come up with! For now, lavender ice cream and lemon lavender pound cake my absolute favorites. Looking forward to adding more tempters to my recipe box……

Can’t wait to see what you girls have in store for us. Love cooking with lavender, and recently realized that I need to restock. I missed the hill country lavender festival that was held not long ago. One day I’m going to go see what it’s all about. Look forward to seeing the festivals you have to share. Never knew the chalkboard tip. Thanks! ~ Sarah

For some reason, I can’t grow lavender where I am but a friend of mine grows lots of it just 15 miles or so north of me…Back when I was still writing weekly food columns for our local newspaper, she invited me to a “Lavender Lunch”…where every dish was graced with lavender somehow…including a delicious Lavender Sangria and Lavender Lemonade..,and grilled Avocado with Lavender…

Looking forward to see what you will post next!

I’ve been so busy lately, but I just had to stop for a visit on my self imposed coffee break this afternoon. I love that tip about the WD-40. Honestly, the inability to get it really clean has been my hesitation with chalkboard projects. Now, I have no hesitation. Thanks! (And as always, every photo you take delighted me.)
