Garden Rules Around the Potting Shed and Winners

Happy Monday, I hope you had a good weekend! We’ve enjoyed some cooler temperatures the last few days which were perfect for gardening and working around the Potting Shed. I’ve been busy as a bee buzzing from project to project, planting and painting, details and photos to come soon.

Here are a few garden rules I like to follow . . .

Plant the Seeds

Play in the Dirt

Wish for Rain

Watch the Bumble Bees

Pull Weeds

Relax

Talk with Angels

Fertilize

Feed the Birds

Add New Flowers

Sip a Drink

Enjoy the Beauty

I ordered a Garden Rules sign from Antique Farmhouse several weeks ago, perfect for reminding yourself to find the joy in gardening among all your chores!

It’s the ideal width to hang on a shutter by the backdoor of my Potting Shed, so eventually it will hang there or I can move it inside. The backdoor has a large empty panel from the chalkboard side that’s a bit of a challenge to fill and decorate with something blooming. I hung the Garden Rules Sign on a hardware cloth frame with some vintage garden tools and cut some honeysuckle vine that’s running rampant with fragrant blooms in the field next to my shed, to frame the sign.

I’ve been planting containers and pots with annuals and vines and Mother Nature has been oh so helpful with the abundance of rain she’s provided recently. I know it won’t be long before I’ll be lugging the hoses around to keep everything watered.

Congratulations to all the winners!!! Rain, rain, rain!!! We have had our fair share for sure…hopefully, in the middle of July and August, we will get a nice share then too!!! 51/2 inches is enough for now…and we could use some warmer tempts…too cold to put stuff in the ground!!! Hopefully, warming by the end of the week!! Have a wonderful sunny day!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️

Your post is an abundance of “Hyacinths to feed my soul”, Mary. I truly marvel at the beauty you create and sustain. I would love to be a little bird or bumble bee and spend my life fluttering in and among your pretty flowers. The rules are just perfect. I would be talking to my angel mother who spent most of her waking hours puttering in her garden. Makes me sad that I didn’t take the opportunity to putter along side her more in the later years.
I’m thrilled to be one of the lucky winners. I will sow the seeds and hope that they flourish in my Texas garden. The gloves will be well used and a constant reminder of your generosity and beautiful friendship.
    Happy Spring!

Beautiful, Mary. Just as soothing and nourishing as a garden. What is the material around your shed? A type of mulch? I wondered if it would work for me. We still have construction debris and bald (scorched) earth.
