Happy April, I hope you had a wonderful and joyful Easter weekend!

It’s the first Monday of the month . . . time to gather with my flower-loving friends for Monday Morning Blooms, where we’re celebrating the beauty of spring with fresh flowers and seasonal inspiration.

We’re happy to welcome back Sarah, from Hyacinths for the Soul,

joining us as a special guest ‘bloomer’ today.

You can my bloggings friends’ links to their beautiful floral and table inspiration at the bottom of this post.

I’m welcoming April with a favorite combination. . .spring blooms and bunnies

that have hopped to The Potting Bench for a little tabletop fun. 🌷🐇

Snowball Viburnum by Potting Shed ©homeiswheretheboatis.net

Snowball Viburnum is blooming. . . the only snowballs you want to see in April!

I was afraid that the cold snap we had several weeks ago

would nip the blooms but they escaped unscathed.

I highly recommended planting a viburnum shrub if you have room in your landscape!

The flowers start out green and turn a snowy white and make beautiful cut flowers.

Snowball Viburnum tolerates a range of soils, but performs best in moist, well-drained, acidic soil.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in USDA zones 6-9.

I gathered some blooms in celebration of spring,

to join bunnies for some gardening tabletop fun.

Bunnies don’t hop away after Easter, rather,

they multiply during the spring and summer months,

as rabbits tend do, living under The Potting Shed.

to add to bunny vases and this bunny’s basket on The Potting Bench.

Tip: Daffodils secrete a sap that can shorten the vase life of other flowers.

To use daffodils in a vase with other flowers, cut them and put them in a vase by themselves

for at least an hour or longer.

After the stems have secreted their sap, they’re ready to add to other flowers in a mixed bouquet

as long as you don’t recut the stems again.

Time to head to the garden center for annuals and direct sow seeds!

Adorable! I love your potting bench as a stage for some dish, flower and oh yea, garden therapy, too. 😉 Your timely garden blooms make for beautiful color, and those pesky little bunnies look cute, but we know what destruction their menacing selves can do! I found a huge mama bunny in my garden last week, and the neighbor across the street told me their huntress, Trixie, caught two babies. Mama bunny must’ve thought I had something to do with it!
Happy Monday Morning Blooms! We still have a threat of frost this Wednesday morning, so I’m debating covering my almost blooming first peony bush.

Mary, I love this post! So many pretty spring blooms and adorable bunnies! You’ve inspired me to look for a snowball viburnum at the garden center to plant. Happy April!

Mary, what an inspiring post to begin spring planting! You can never have too many bunnies hopping by! Lovely setting and looks like the weather was perfect for your potting bench to shine. Thanks for sharing!

Good morning Mary. Spring blooms and bunnies are the perfect combo! The Snowball Viburnum is one of my favorite spring bloomers and puts on quite the show! Your potting bench is ideal for showing off spring blooms and displaying a bit of whimsy. Bunny placemats, plates, and napkin rings joining flowering garden tools provide a whimsical charm. The Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage ware plates are the perfect element for your splendid spring display! I hope the real bunnies will behave. We haven’t seen any bunnies this spring, but I am sure they will appear!

It is always a pleasure to join you for flower therapy and Monday Morning Blooms! 🌷🐰🩷

My snow ball viburnum just popped – full of white flowers

Good morning, Mary! Oh, to awaken to all this spring beauty takes my breath away. Of course the sprinkle of bunnies thrills my heart as well. I’m envious of your snowy viburnum. I need to see if it is possible to grow them here. I never see them. Dogwood trees are some of my favorite, but they don’t thrive here. I’m rethinking a few tree options to possibly add to our garden. Our drought situation is not a good time to think of any new plants, yet a girl can dream.
The wonderful vignettes within the garden shed always delight, Mary. How fun to have this space to play with dishes and details for charming tablescapes. You are such an influence for me both in the garden and at a table. I wish we lived close by. I’d likely become a nuisance to you, but for me you would be flower therapy! I so admire your gardening skills, your expertise with knowing how to create a beautiful garden and exquisite table. Your friendship long distance and over the course of all these years knowing each other through our blogs remains a highlight for me, Mary. Happy, happy spring!

Mary I have to confess to lingering over your first photo to capture all the beautiful elements of your potting bench. Bunnies everywhere and lovely blooms. I, like several other commenters am checking to see if snowball viburnum can grow here in SW Florida and apparently a Chinese Snowball Viburnum will. We shall see. I have little bunnies hopping around my front yard but so far my back ‘Secret Garden’ remains secret from them! Happy Spring! 🦋🌸🐇

Snowball Viburnum are one of our favorite! but we have quite a wait to see ours bloom….. so seeing your photos really filled us with Joy….

  10. April 6, 2026 at 11:28 am

Good morning Mary! Your beautiful spring flowers and sweet bunnies are a wonderful combination. Snowball Viburnum is my favorite spring blooming shrub and yours ( and Pam’s) = amazing…mine is still sticks and buds right now. I’m happy to get a few flowers and leaves soon!

Your potting bench is just magical with the spring flowers and for showing off your bunnies and flowering garden tools, and the placemats and settings. Such a springtime delight! The real bunnies are darling but I know they can be a challenge in the garden, I hope they are kind to your blooms.

It is always a joy to join you for our Monday Morning Blooms!

Mary, Your potting bench is magazine worthy! It is gorgeous. All the colorful blooms and bunnies just scream spring! The real bunnies will make you scream as they eat your blooms! They’re cute but a challenge! I enjoy MMB immensely. Springtime is a favorite time of year. Enjoy your day. Clara❤️
