. . .Bird houses, bee skeps, watering cans and pots
for a little companion planting
and tabletop gardening with
Naturewood by Pfaltzgraff!
A study of botanical beauty,
Naturewood dinnerware is rendered in a soft,
natural color palette.
Detailed sketches of leaves and framed potted herbs
border the plates along with and delicate stripes
and accents of garden elements.
A stem and leaf design trails along
Avery flatware by International Home,
sprouting from garden gloves.
I laid a foundation of a jute runner and rustic woven
chargers for a textured landscape for the dinnerware.
I found an herb marker and pencil set in the garden
area of Target this spring for marking herbs and pots. . .
But they would be equally fun for marking
each place setting with guests’ names!
A coordinating chalkboard provides
a handy place for memos or lists.
And ceramic handled spoons are
decorative as well as functional. . .
With an embossed bee and bee skep
design and handy hole for hanging.
Embossed salad plates and
stemless wine glasses are also
abuzz with a bee skep design.
Naturewood offers a lasagna baker with
the even-heating quality of stoneware.
As well as set of 3 round nested tins for
decorative and functional for storage.

Hi Mary, I just popped over to the Pfaltzgraff site and they have so many wonderful pieces in this collection! The two birdies on the memo board are the sweetest little cuties. I think this pattern would work so wonderfully in a garden setting on a hot day with the cool, refreshing green color and delicate drawings. It looks like your little shed has settled in comfortably in the new spot. The view out of the window is beautiful — I am wondering if that is the wildflower field. Have a wonderful Spring day! Linda
Hi Linda! It’s my field of dreams, used for growing hay but also daisies, bachelor buttons and Queen Anne’s Lace pops up there. I’m looking forward to a view of the wildflowers out the window :) You can see a peek here: http://homeiswheretheboatis.net/2012/06/16/lacy-queen-anne/
I used to visit a Pfaltzgraff “seconds” store and Naturewood was my favorite. I thought it was made just for folks who love the garden (gardener or not)! Fun post. Thanks, Mary!
Good morning Mary…glad to see you’re still in the potting shed. I’ve always loved the Naturewood pattern. In fact, it’s one of my favorites, and I have many wonderful pieces. You’ve inspired me to pull it out today and begin using it. We usually use it during our gardening season, but it ‘s still a little chilly here for that.
These dishes were just made for you and your potting shed Mary, they couldn’t be more perfect! The bee skep plates have me smiling, and of course all your special touches~love the glove and the garden markers~and I think the grand finale photo of the hanging watering can with the lush meadow out the window was simply the icing on your garden table! These photos are going to keep this stormy Monday bright~

You’ve set my favorite potting shed so prettily, Mary. I love the garden gloves as utensil holders. The embossed plates are the best, as well as all the accesories to the pretty line. The view from the window is gorgeous. xo
I have a few pieces of Naturewood. I love what you’ve done and how you have used it. I know I say this all of the time, but it’s like coming to a magazine photo shoot when I’m here.
Love this Mary! I can’t find the embossed beehive plates in the Naturewood collection. They would be perfect for a “Mommy to Bee” shower I am throwing. Are they from Pfaltzgraff too? Thanks again for all your inspiration – it makes my day :-)
Good morning Mary! I think the weather will hold out so we can start planting . Looking forward to seeing flowers and vegetables in my garden.
Love the table wear!
Oh Mary, I just love your tablescape in the potting Shed. Everything is perfect. Looking out your window it looks like things are turning green for you.
We are expecting in the 90’s starting tomorrow – to hot to soon, but better than the winter everyone else had.
Have a wonderful week puttering around in your beautiful Potting Shed.
Mary
Every time I view your blog and see yet another set of Pfaltzgraff dishes I tell myself that these are the ones. Well, today, these are REALLY the ones! The colors are perfect for me, the designs are me all over the place, and I like the shapes as well. If I could only get the mister to part with his much beloved “Village” set, I’d have plenty of room for more. ;-)
Oh you are bringing back memories of tables set by my sister who has this dinnerware….She is a Master Gardener and has always loved garden themes and “bees”…such a classic pattern and you have displayed it so beautifully in the garden shed..I love the white bee skip designed plate with the pretty basket weave rim…Amazing presentation and beautiful ideas Mary!!!
I love those dishes. They have caught my eye for years but I never saw them displayed so well! The bee skeps are lovely! Great idea with the garden gloves!
Wow Mary, I love your garden inspired collection. So many pretty things in your vignette. I’m getting a new kitchen window in June with a ledge and you’ve inspired me to add a bird house or two when I do my window vignette. Visiting you from the Inspire Me Tuesday Party.
Mary, this pattern is just perfect for your potting shed! As usual, I love everything you’ve done especially the gloves and I’m really fixated on those stemless wine glasses with the bee skep on them!!! Oh, my!
Talk about beautiful eye candy!!! What a gorgeous pattern – how lucky for you to have such a perfect potting shed – my dream !
