I’m at the table with a harvest of fruit and Mikasa Garden Harvest dinnerware.
Orchard fruits and leaves border the stoneware rims of Garden Harvest dinnerware by Mikasa.
I started with an aqua tablecloth as a foundation for the soft color palette of the fruit and leaves pattern of the dinnerware. It provides some subtle texture in contrast to the smooth surface of the stoneware.
A medley of fruit~ grapes, nectarines, pears, and apricots, cascades from an urn and provides a fresh and bountiful centerpiece for the table.
Instead of the orchard, I harvested my fruit from the produce department. :) Shopping for groceries is a little more fun and economical too, when you can buy an edible centerpiece for the table.
I added some ivy and harvested some blooms from our Kaleidoscope Abelia, to trail and tuck in among the fruit.

A little behind the scenes:
I had some party crashers arrive while I was photographing my table.
While I’m always happy to see Canada Geese swim by with their goslings in tow, we shoo them away from the yard or next door, especially since they normally travel in groups of 20 or more.
Geese + dogs don’t mix. . .’nuff said :)
And after chasing the geese away several times, I noticed some fluttering in the background . . .
We have a bluebirds nesting in our dovecote again this summer!

Mary, I always love your table settings, but that overhead photo where you captured the curved stone bench with the container is especially pretty! Ugh – Canadian geese – we shoo them away CONSTANTLY, and this year the gaggle has been as many as 80 here. They are so gross, words can’t even convey my disgust for them. However, your bluebirds are a sight to behold, and great photos too.

I love this dishware Mary, especially the adorable pedestal bowls! The pattern is beautiful paired with the soft aqua cloth and your edible centerpiece…the urn looks so at home in your garden setting, overflowing with fruits. I am so tempted to get some of the sherbert bowls, I love footed bowls! Your table is another beauty. We have Canadian geese flying over every night now. I pray they don’t land as they sure are messy. Your fruit looks SO inviting, I tart my day everyday with a nectarine, banana and blueberries with skim milk. I had to scroll back up to see the 3 tiered server that Kitty mentioned, as I missed it completely!! I was too awestruck with that beautiful soft teal table & all the *vintage* looking accoutrements! I remember Grandma O’Neil having similar fruits on her dishes.

Mary, this pattern was made for late summer and your lake-side home. Your fruit centerpiece is a work of art, and I love the lone pear with the variegated ivy twig–an artistic contrast of bounty and simplicity. Your table shines against the backdrop of the lake. I have long admired that Mikasa stoneware pattern, love it. Problem I have with dishes is I love too many of them, LOL!! I need a butler’s pantry now!

Tucking in the abelia into that gorgeous fruit centerpiece was genius! The aqua tablecloth was a perfect choice with this pattern. Glad you were able to “shoo” away the geese before that tablecloth had some added color on it!!!

LOVE the design of the buffet server, and your centerpiece is stunning! It’s still too hot here to eat al fresco, but hopefully it will cool down in a month or so….I miss being outside! It was 104 here yesterday! :(
The dishes are so pretty! They remind me of all the fresh peaches on our tree! The little ones can’t get enough of them. My daughter and I bought “the same tree” but mine ripen in July and hers in August.

Love how you tied in the fruit with the dishes! Snicker snicker on the party crashers! I get so many varieties of birds but not the bluebirds. Our property is too enclosed for them- they like open areas. They are a gorgeous bird aren’t they!

Love when you use fruit with the dishes! The aqua tablecloth is gorgeous. I work next to a college, and there must be at least two Canadian geese families nesting on the grounds. Daily entertainment ;o)
