That peep in the shell sitting in the egg cup is just too cute! I don’t have favorite peep recipe, but I have a story. Every year at Easter my mother gave my daughter peeps. She looked forward to them each year. Now that my mom is gone I continue the tradition. Of course my daughter is fifty three now, but she’s a child at heart and still loves her peeps.
Loved your peeps! So creative! I’ve used peeps for treats and decorations for many years. This year I will put peeps on my deviled egg plate and also will use them to decorate the hidden egg cupcakes.

Love, love peeps! A couple of years ago I made a “peeps” cake. The top was decorated with yellow peeps and the center was chocolate chips and they made the top of the cake look like a sunflower. It was so pretty no one wanted to cut it until I finally picked one of the peeps and ate it. I like my yellow peeps a little on the stale side..that way they don’t stick to your teeth. I have been known to pull the Easter grass off the bottom of a peep that has been stuck for a while in order to eat that leftover peep!! I will be using them in my new center piece this year..I like all the uses you showed and I am excited to start decorating for Easter!! My children love them too. When they started putting them in smaller boxes, then I put that smaller box in their basket. All grown now, they use them in their Easter decor!! I’ve never met a Peep I didn’t like!! So it would be hard to pick just one. I’ve got my 7 yr old grandson trained to get me Peep’s for any holiday…this Valentines I tried the new chocolate dipped cherry flavored ones….oh yum! Is there anyone else out there who likes them a little on the stale side so they have a “crunch” to them. Now that I’m thinking about them guess I’d better run out and get a “fix”! While all those Peeps treats look absolutely fun & yummy, nothing beats fresh Peeps right out of the package! So in my home, every recipe requires double quantities of Peeps – the amount needed for the recipe and then some for eating while preparing ;)

Oh Mary, “Queen of Peeps,” I have been waiting for your peeps to peep out! I had no idea that peeps are hatched at the 5 million daily number, that seems quite incredible!! It seems like there are now peeps for every occasion, and your creations can’t be beat, even though it looks like there’s a lot of cuteness in that book! I would rather decorate with them than eat them, sort of like candy corn…one year I put them in egg shells after seeing yours, and the kiddos thought that was the funniest thing ever! When my niece and nephews were young they loved putting their peeps in the microwave, letting them puff up. But there was an unhappy mom if they let them explode, which of course, they loved to do! When they each went off to college I mailed them Halloween packages every year, and included their peeps. Imagine my nephew’s surprise (when he did a 1/2 year of school in China) to still get his Halloween candy box from Auntie, which included his favorite peeps!! Thanks, Mary, for a wonderful site!
I have to confess, I would steal stale, crispy Peeps from my children’s Easter baskets! Loved the crunch with the sweet taste. Now I am addicted to chocolate covered Peeps. My daughter gives me some each Easter.
Love Peeps. I usually set up two LARGE glass hurricanes full of Peeps and other candies on Halloween and again on Easter and they always get rave comments from visitors. Then to complement the hurricanes I love to make colorful crispie ( or trix) treats on a stick and center a peep bunny or pumpkin on each one. Wrapped in cello and tied with a ribbon they look so adorable and they taste great! Even adults who wouldn’t get caught dead eating a Peep straight out of the box want one!
My grown kids still love peeps and chicks seem to be their favorite. I love them all for decorating. Peeps aren’t just for kids!
My newest favorite is the chocolate covered. I decided to give them a try, and now I’m hooked!

I am a Peep lover from my childhood days…and let me tell you that was a very, very longgggggg time ago!!! Since way back then the only Peeps were the yellow chicks, I would say they are my fav..especially when they are still squishy soft!!! However, I will admit I do love the look of the sweet bunnies and I’m in love with all the pretty Easter colors and flavors. A few years ago I was delighted when they came out witht he Halloween variety of peeps…and then I was further delighted to see 4th of July Peeps! I’ve never used Peeps for decorating…seems as though I gooble them up too quickly (insert face with a rosy blush). I would L-O-V-E to win the delightful recipe book of Peeps.

I love me some Peeps! I use them on skewers to garnish any kind of drink (kids love them on their juice glasses) and have you seen the new plush Peeps easter baskets??? Too cute!!
On Easter I make green-dyed coconut and melted marshmallow “nests” with a Peep in each one and mini jelly bean “eggs”. Looks so cute on each plate at brunch.
Hi Mary, I too like stale chicks in yellow! When they came out with chocolate dipped Peeps, well, all I can say is “Life is Good!” Your blog, and the sweet ladies that follow you, have been a sanity saver and inspiration for me. Soon I will be graduating from accounting…did I say graduating? I meant retiring…perhaps I do have a sense of humor! Anyway, I am looking forward to pretty place settings, friendships, and yummy food! AND, a place on a wonderful NC lake with a boat, the dogs, and the sweet husband!

I love them all!! My favorite thing is to share with co-workers, we call our coffee “witches brew” haha, and put the ghosts or others in our coffee and sprinkle with cinnamon or confections. It feels decadent when we enjoy our afternoon coffee.

peeps & chocolate are my favorite combination!!! and every easter, my grande-girls and i create a ‘peeps’ parade by making tiny ‘crepe-paper’ Easter bonnets for them .. and have them proudly ‘marching’ across a lawn of easter grass on our fireplace mantle. we also ‘thread colorful Easter Peeps’ on wire and tie colorful easter egg-color gingham strips between them and hang them below the mantle. I so wish there was a way to ‘enable’ photos in your ‘comments’ space so we could all share pictures with you and your zillions of followers showing you how you have inspired us! (each month, i send a link to your blog via e-mail to all my friends .. and share your link on my facebook page and tell everyone they should subscribe for a wonderful monthly holiday/seasonal treat! “HOPPY EASTER’!

I LOVE stale Peeps, but not many of them reach that stage. They would have to be under lock and key or nailed down for me to not eat them as soon as I leave the store.
I love the chocolate mousse peeps and bunnies, I think they are so cute, we are making little graham cracker house for peeps this year like you do a gingerbread house. We will make a candy nest and leave one side of the house open so they are on display in the nest. Of course, we saw this on Pinterest.

My grandpeeps are such fans of the confections that I sent ghosts, bunnies, and chicks (in proper season) to them during their years in Germany. Now they are back home they choose their own faves. Me, I am a classic originals gal.

I am a traditionalist and have a definite preference for the yellow chick Peep because I can still see MY Easter basket when I was young and found Peeps in there (and that was a loooong time ago!) Now I make sure there are always Peeps in the baskets I put together for my 8 grandchildren and my 4 married daughters and husbands! Lots of Peeps to distribute each Easter! I love the stale peeps! I put them in hot chocolate and it is a delicious treat on a cold night!
I love the bunny Peeps. Even though it says yellow is the favorite color, I use all colors! They are adorable and are easily recognizable by little ones. I usually decorate Easter baskets with them; I also use them on my Easter table and buffet. Then, my granddaughter eats them all! lol She loves marshmallows!
Oh, I forgot! After each holiday, I go to the stores with my granddaughter to buy some of the leftover Peeps (usually on clearance). Granddaughter and I make S’mores out of those. Yum! It’s a tradition we’ve started 3 years ago when she was 4. This year is her third year to help me treasure hunt for Peeps on clearance.
You might think this is the craziest thing you ever heard -but my college girlfriends and I discovered a few years ago that yellow peep chicks floating on (dipped in) red dry wine is a FINE FINE treat. Really. Who knew? Peep pairing.

My favorite flavor is the cocoa cat at Halloween, and my favorite way to eat traditional Peeps takes a great deal of patience and willpower to wait – I punch a small hole in a package and wait a month or so to eat them – love them crispity around the edges! :) :)

My favorite is the original yellow chick – slightly stale (crispy outside w/ soft/chewy inside. I love eating AND decorating. LOVE the bunny cake and the Easter chick displays. The Chick-tini looks intriguing, too – maybe a virgin version for the kiddos!
I went to a funeral just this week for a friends Grandmother. She was 94 !
She loved peeps so much that they had a box of peeps in each pew for people to enjoy 💕💕💕
I’ve loved Peeps ever since I was a little girl! Now that they are available mostly year round, I’m one happy muncher! I prefer them soft from the package while my cousin opens up a corner and gives them a little overnight counter sit. Best of all, I discovered that my 88 year old aunt loves them too! Now I send her a Peeps box every holiday with the host colorful, newest flavored and pretty Peepers. Me, I’m a purist, the yellow chick originals are the best!

I love to eat and decorate with Peeps! At Halloween I line the inside of a glass candy jar with ghost Peeps looking out. Next I fill the inside of the jar with Halloween M & M candies. At Easter I like to dip the bottom of Peep bunnies in melted chocolate and skewer them with a candy stick. So cute and festive!

Hi Mary, I love peeps of all colors and shapes, slightly crunchy! I am a big holiday baking fanatic and when my 4 daughters were little, I made the sugar Easter panoramic eggs for them (not as hard as they look but a bit time consuming), bunny cakes of all kinds, a stand up lamb cake (I have sooo many cake pans at home!), but the best one I ever made was the Easter basket cake with pink frosting piped on the outside in a basket weave design, green dyed coconut on top for grass with lots of yellow peeps (my favorite!), chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, speckled eggs, etc. nestled in the coconut. I made a handle from braided pipe cleaners in pastel colors that went across the top as well. My daughters were thrilled! Now I have 3 grandsons ages 1 to 4 and I am back doing all that again….such fun! I will be buying lots of peeps this year to try out many of your ideas (and eat, of course!). Thanks for all the inspiration!

I have been inspired by your usage of peeps. I have bought more Peeps since I started following you than I ever did before. My favorite way to eat them is to dip them in chocolate. If I can find them already dipped, I usually buy them all. Sad….I know. But, I am addicted to them. Fortunately for me, and my waistline, they usually don’t have very many of those in my area. I am more of a dark chocolate person so I’m not one to eat them, yet my oldest sister likes them a little stale. I did have so much fun using them as swizzle sticks with lemonade as you showed us and everyone thought they were too cute. I also put a few in broken egg shells and they stole the show. I’m a Peep fanatic, I just love them!! But my very favorite has got to be the yellow bunny peeps! They are just so classic!
I love this! It’s so pretty and fun seeing all the ways you use these yummies. My favorite Peep, is the traditional yellow chick. My family was pretty poor when I was growing up, and our Easter baskets were a real treat. Seeing those little yellow chicks all nestled in the green “grass” of my basket, always made it special. I love mine slightly stale and chewy. I didn’t know anyone else liked them that way!!
After seeing all of these ideas, I think It has renewed my interest in peeps. My kids have never been fans, but I used to love them but have not had any in a long time. Guess I am going to have to try them again. I love the uses for the ghosts, brownies and as marshmallows in hot chocolate. I think a peeptini is also in order.

Never could I imagine all the wonders of “Peeps” if I did’t see them on your blog! My son would be besides himself if he see this book. Every Easter, I would plunge myself into an isle of delightful chocolates and other nostalgic candy only to surface with “Blue Marshmallow Bunnies”. Why, because this is the only “Sweets” my son would eat! He would open them and let them sit for 2-7 days BEFORE eating them! (somethings are just unexplainable) I loved the idea w/ lemonade…perhaps a Blue Raspberry Lemonade this year <3

I have never used real Peeps for decorating, but since finding your blog I have been thinking of trying it for Easter this year. I do have a set of small stuffed Peeps bunnies I picked up years ago. They sit in a little basket on my dining room hutch each Easter. It began as a set of 4, but I only have 3 now, as my granddaughter took one home with her a couple of years ago. Your post made me jump over to the Just Born website, and I now have several Peeps items in my cart, waiting for me to decide if I will add more before I “proceed to checkout”. My favorite Peeps are the bunny’s in springtime and the ghosts in autumn! I love making Peep “kabobs” for Easter and Halloween and always keep some in the freezer ready for the grandchildren and hot chocolate! Wow … 5,000,000 Peeps produced in 1 day! I have two boys, and our favorite thing to do with peeps is to watch them blow up in the microwave! Even as adults we all still gather round the microwave put in a peep, and laugh hysterically as it grows into “the blob.” Then they fight to see who gets to eat it (yes, even as adults!), claiming that the texture is even better once it’s been “nuked.”

I’m a Peeps purist, so I like the chicks. I also think I’m in the minority by enjoying them straight from the carton when they are nice and chewy.
I like to eat ALL types of Peeps. Slightly Stale, Fresh out of the Package, and as S’Mores. Also, I’d have to say my favorite type of peep is the bubblegum chick! YUM!
I love to look at all different Peeps but eat only the bunnies! Your designs are awesome!
I love all peeps but my favorite are the chicks and ghosts. Fresh is Best, but a close second is a peep on top of chocolate. Yum
I decorate with them. They are so cute. Of course when my children come home they seem to disappear. :):):)

I don’t eat Peeps but love to decorate with them. However, my grandsons will steal the Peeps whenever they see them!!

A must share for me is my three grandchildren call me Peep😘 My seven year old grandson was so excited when at the young age of three thought that all the Peeps were made just for his Peep.

Hi Mary! I just love all of your ideas and presentations make me want to try new things! I love Peeps! I eat them, dip them, let them go stale and use them for decorations, My favorite way is of course in spring and Easter because that is a sign of renewal and they are fresh and colorful after a long winter. I top cupcakes and put jellybeans and bunnies in vases. Look in my freezer and I have a few boxes of ghosts and pumpkins that we use for hot chocolate and s’mores at the campfire! Last year for our July 4th party we had brownies topped with striped (red, white and blue) frosting and sat a patriotic Peep in the middle of each! They are just lots of fun and really bring out your imagination! Have a Blessed Spring and keep the inspirations coming!
We are putting a shutterfly book together for my granddaughters 4th birthday. All her family and friends sent her mom pictures of us with our favorite candy. I’m pictured with my beloved peeps. As far as a favorite, that’s like asking which grandchild I like best. I LOVE THEM ALL!

Love this post! I’m so inspired and just added Peeps to my grocery list. I like to decorate with them and usually go with the bunnies. Although I like the pictures with the chicks too, so I may get both, My daughter does eat them and likes them stale.

Hi – I’m a peep fanatic. Love eating them and my favorite is the classic yellow chick. It has to be very stale too. That’s my absolute favorite way of eating them, but sometimes I grow impatient and have been known to nibble on a few that aren’t so stale. But don’t tell anyone!! I love to use the peeps any time of the year and roast them over the fire and make s’mores! One of our favorite treats.

Every Easter I make a layer cake with Bunny peeps standing guard along the sides of the cake and chicks resting comfortably on the top edge. Not only is it delicious but it makes for the perfect centerpiece!
