Happy Sunday!
Here’s a little December weekend waterview from Lake Norman . . .
We enjoyed a little boating time last weekend. The temps were in the low 60s and it was warm in sun.
Sophie and Lola enjoyed the sunshine and wind blowing in their ears.
It was a little brisk with the breeze across the water . . good thing they were wearing their fur coats 🐾🐾.
Lola and Sophie are mesmerized by the hundreds of ring-billed gulls on the lake this time of year. . .
We bundled up and boated over with friends to boat over and watch a Lighted Boat Parade last Saturday evening. . .
I was able to capture a few boats with my iPhone . . .
Santa arrived via boat and sleigh. . .
He travels with his workshop on the back of the boat. . .
The Grinch showed up for the parade with his dog, Max on the bow. . .
And this clever pontoon owner added lights and PVC pipe to give the illusion of a boat forklift toting a jet ski.
We’ve enjoyed some beautiful sunsets this month. . .
With pink, orange and lavender skies and watery reflections. . .
I included a video of the boat parade from last year. The train is fantastic which we missed seeing this year.
Merry Christmas from Our Boat to Yours!

Beautiful water views! Merry Christmas my friend ❤️
A boat parade- what fun! Thank for another year of your wonderful posts. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you Mary, for your many years of sharing with us. May God bless you and yours and have a very Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures of sunsets, living on the water and having such gorgeous views is definitely like living in paradise. I always enjoy your water view photographs. One of my friends just suggested we start a Christmas Boat Parade next year, so I will definitely have to save some of the pictures. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
WOW!!! Very elaborate!! Thanks for sharing!! Merry Christmas Mary! Hope you and your family are healthy and happy during this season of our Lord!! GOD BLESS YOU!! ❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️
Oh, what fun it is to ride in a two-dog pontoon sleigh! Thank you for taking us along on the lake rides, Mary. The boat parade really looked like fun, especially being so close. I love the video. Our city has a much smaller version of boat parade on the river, and this year I was able to capture it right from the warmth of the condo, with a quick exit onto the balcony for a few pictures. I’ve occasionally seen a few of those seagulls here in our land-locked state (a most unusual sighting), but it seems to be happening each year, so perhaps it’s just a few wayward feathered friends during their migration flights.Your sunsets and sunrises never get old for my viewing, please keep them coming. May your week ahead be peaceful, and your new year calm and bright. xo
Merry Christmas Mary to you and your family. xoxo
How much fun watching the boat parade. Very ingenious indeed. A very blessed Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
Merry Christmas Mary to you and your family, two and four legged!! xoxo
Thank you for sharing the fun, lighted boat parade! How special is that! The sunsets are spectacular, God does His own light shows and they are the BEST! Hug the fur-babies for me, they are so precious,♥️🐾 Thank you Mary for all your hard work in giving us such great posts all the time. We are blessed! MERRY CHRISTMAS, 🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Mary!!! Always enjoy your blog from the boat!
Beautiful pictures Mary! We’re going to be in the 60’s Christmas this year. Love the boat show pictures & YT video. The girl’s fur is so pretty. It’s the only way to wear fur as we often say in our home. Merry Christmas! Clara ❤️🎄 🎅
Mary, I love your pictures and the temperatures were fantastic for the Boat Parade!!! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful four legged girls!!!
Enjoyed today’s post very much. Thank you for taking the time during the busy holidays to share the beauty around you with your readers.
Wow! Disney has nothing compared to the Lake Norman Boat Parade! 🎅🏻🤶🏻🧜🏻♀️🧚🏻♀️🎄 Absolutely stunning. I have an iPhone X, but my night pictures don’t look at all like yours. Great job! I’d love to look over your shoulder to see your skills in action. 🤩
Merry Christmas, Mary and family. Your posts are always enjoyed but especially the ones with the pups. :)
Curiosity question: have any of the dogs ever jumped overboard while y’all were cruising the lake?
Sheila
Beautiful!!!! I so look forward to your daily posts. Merry, Merry Christmas.
What fun seeing the boat parade.
Always love seeing Lola and Sophie. They are so cute!
And what a gorgeous sunset…very peaceful!
Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas!
How fortunate you are to be on the lake and then see the beautiful boat parade. It is FREEZING here in PA, has been in the 20’s for days:( UGH. But Christmas is supposed to be in the 40’s so I’ll take it. Have a very merry Christmas and I wish you good health, happiness and joy in 2020!!!!
What a beautiful place to live!
Yet another reason to love lake living! Where I lived as a child we called it the boat-a-cade, and it was one of the most fun parts of the holiday season. I remember always ending the boat-a-cade at our home with all the participants docking at our house for a huge party. I always looked forward to seeing what new ideas people would come up with each year. I must admit that, as a kid, I never gave thought to how many hours my father spent decorating the boat so we could participate in the merriment. Thanks for the post that brought back great memories, it looks like it was a wonderful event on Lake Norman!
Awe! So beautiful and fun! What a wonderful Christmas tradition. Love your blog. Merry Christmas!
Oh what fun! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures and the boat parade video. The sunset pictures are beautiful. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Loved seeing Lola and Sophie, and your gorgeous sunsets, Mary. The video was such fun to watch, and I’m sure seeing all the boats in person is even more spectacular. Merry Christmas to You!!
Thank you, Mary, for your wonderful blog – how it blesses us! Have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas, and may 2020 be your best year yet.
Life us better at the Lake! Our boat parade was last week…first of more, we hope! franki
What a festive lake tradition! I’m glad your girls enjoy the boat rides. Not sure what Sadie would do.
Merry, Merry to each of you!
Such beautiful views of your sunsets. The boat parade was spectacular! But most of all I loved seeing Lola and Sophie! Such sweet little pups!
Merry Christmas Mary to you and yours!
Thank you for the wonderful boat Christmas parade Mary! There is an annual lighted boat parade in Orange Beach too but we always spend December in Birmingham so we always miss it. I love the Grinch boat, and the clever forklift! We have had days of cold rain but it’s supposed to be sunny and much warmer for Christmas! Time to get busy, we’re having 20 for lunch tomorrow!
Jenna
So pretty. I’ve never seen a boat parade except in pictures. That would be awesome.
Your posts are always a feast for the eyes. You almost feel you’re there. What beautiful photography of lovely and fun sights. Merry Christmas to you, Mary! With appreciation for the beauty you share so freely…
P.s. MARY! The white chocolate, pistachio, cranberry-orange fudge is WONDERFUL! YES, it is hard to stop at one piece. Lol ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐A five star winner! Going to my sisters this afternoon and we are making your soap project. More fun! Love you, girl! Merry Christmas🎄
