So beautiful! You have the best and perfectly decorated potting shed ever. Happy 4th of July!! Hope you and your family have a red, white and blue weekend. Thanks for sharing. Bet your cute dogs will be wearing something red, white, and blue too.
Yikes…I do think…we must be “soul sisters (though, you did get the better decorating gene)!!” I’m pretty new to your blog and I see SO MANY THINGS that I, too, have…the same red door, compass rose, watering can and I have flags EVERYWHERE (and we live on a lake…go figure.) Go 4th and EnJOY! franki
Hi Chloe Gracie & Mommy,
If you don’t treat those adorable dogs like family, you will be the first person I’ve met who doesn’t. Love the shed. My wife and I dream of a
little 12×16 get away to place some day. Just big enough to cook and sleep overnight. We have had 3 boats and enjoyed them. You know, you can get “boat poor” with 3 at one time. We think a 16 ft pontoon boat is the’ideal river and lake craft. Have you ever skinned a catfish? The white flesh will melt in your mouth. Has to be fresh water, lake-cat. And flounder fillets the size of saucers from the tidal bays. Grew up on that stuff and canned veg from the garden. Today is my mother’s 93rd.
She will be canning string beans this wk end. HAVE A HAPPY.. JOE

I wish I had a potting shed!!
I need a compass like yours. We live on Windrose and I’ve always wanted a compass for our home. Even entertained thoughts of having an artist doing one over the hardwood in the foyer. I have a burlap compass pillow on the patio. Guess that will have to do.
I am the navigator for our road trips. I rely on paper maps and landmarks. J has an uncanny sense of direction, II believe he developed during all those years as a lineman, traipsing around hills and hollows in the middle of nowhere.
I always love seeing your creativity and today is no different. Girl, you are one talented lady-but you already know that. Love all of your ideas. Love your view too. I just want to hang out at your place!!!
Thanks for inspiring me.
Yours is the most beautifully decorated shed EVER!!! I love seeing what you come up with for every season or holiday and oh, how I’d love to have a cute shed to decorate and work in! Please give Chloe and Gracie a hug from their cyber friend Keeper in Alabama and we hope you and yours have a safe and fun Fourth of July!
I know this is going to sound crazy but I want to live in your potting shed!!! It is so cute I wouldn’t even mind the fact there is no indoor plumbing! Have a wonderful weekend!
Love love love this post, especially the bottles on the rake! Too clever! Happy Red White and Blue! (Thanks for decorating my house — my bags are packed! ;D) !!!!!!!
I already have told you previously and posted on my blog how much I love.love.love. your potting shed! But this is even better, and I got a great laugh at your being honest at being directionally challenged lol.
Have a great 4th!

Hi Mary! I love the potting shed all decked out in patriotic attire for the 4th. There are so many ideas to admire. Thank you for sharing your inspiration. Happy July 4th to you and yours!
What a lovely and patriotic tribute! Your potting shed is so quaint I could live in it! And there’s no such thing as too many pictures – you do such a beautiful job. Thanks for all of the inspiration!
Although I know I am wrong as far as flag etiquette goes, I have always thought that when the flag is hanging like your banners, they look better with the union on ‘our’ right side as we view it…and not on the right of the flag itself…but I wouldn’t dare hang it that way… ;-)
I love, love, love it! My favorite touches are the blue and white platter in the basket of flowers and flags and the make shift blue bottle tree. You have such a wonderful creative touch.
happy holiday week to you, its hard to be back in the good ole usa after france, italy and ireland, but you certainly have done a bang up job with our stars and stripes!
OF COURSE i noticed the olive basket first thing, i hesitated to buy it when i saw it, came back the next morn and you must have had it airmailed off to you ;-) i adore how you placed it front and center, so cute.
its wonderful how charming your potting shed is from every angle, always picture perfect for every holiday, season and mood, heavy sigh to something being so small, but so fruitful in fun and beauty. and the fact it sits on the water is just beyond heaven built~
naturally you even have the striped petunias, and we are twins with the compass, but unlike you i will say geography and i click a little better, i can find a homegoods store with my eyes closed ;-) and i found your birdhouses, got both, i will try and get it all sent next week, not sure if i have a box, glass always flips me out so i linger over getting it out the door quick but i can’t bear to read its been broken…
totally loved your flip side honesty, and the mere fact that you ARE mortal and take tons of pics! your improvised bottle tree is very clever.
happy 4th to you if i miss you, it was 109 yesterday, today is hotter, it just keeps rising until mid week for us, i guess i can be grateful its not 128 like death valley, although they think that record will be shattered this week. oh joy, give me that freezing cold beach any day and enjoy your home by the boat :-)
Your potting shed is all ready for the 4th Mary! Love the flags (which seem to get blown in all directions anyway:@). I have a friend that’s an avid gardener and lobelia is her nemesis! She loves the color but it never wants to grow for her-Lowes ready refills to the rescue:@)
Too funny, I bet everyone can confess to taking a bunch of photos with a blaring “don’t” and having to reshoot! When I’m at the beach it’s so bright I have to shoot “blind”, then upload to see what I got {or didn’t!} I love the winking face/mask on the trellis, and the blue bottles on your rake is just brilliant! It is all over the top adorable Mary, and you can’t help but smile everywhere you look!

Mary, I really enjoy seeing how you’ve decorated you potting shed for each season. This may be my favorite yet, and I especially love the makeshift bottle tree!
Hi Mary! I want to thank you so very much for sharing all of your awesome talents with us!! Just popping over here and checking out all of your decorating really puts me in a holiday mood. Your potting shed looks so festive! I just love what you have done with everything! What an inspiration you are to all of us! Enjoy!! Hugs to Chloe and Gracie!!

Mary, I had to laugh about hanging the flag banner in the wrong direction. I have “a thing” about that too. :)
I have to say that every time I see your darling shed, I want to run out and do something with mine. Ours is more functional, and has double doors so Hubby can drive the riding mower in.
Love the basket on your door and all the cute garden ornaments…especially your bottle tree. My husband always gets a funny look when I mention getting a bottle tree for the garden. LOL I’ll bet he’d love yours though..I do! Guess it’s a Southern thing.
Just magnificent Mary…I so love seeing your garden cottage all dressed up for the holidays….So many wonderful ideas that you always create for us!…Have a most wonderful 4th Mary!..
Just Love visting your potting shed with all the detail you incorporate. You have the touch for sure!
Enjoy the 4th with your family, friends and fur pups. My Gracie girl would love the lake. She’s a bit jealous here in land locked Texas. Thanks for sharing!
Mary, I have always had such a love for your potting shed…. BUT… I never realized that is was so near the water. Now I am obsessed!!!!!
It is perfect and so is it’s spot!!!!
Love how you have dressed it for the 4th!
Does your potting shed have a name? You should really name such a special place.

I love all your patriotic touches! Clever idea to use the vintage rake as a bottle tree!
