Squatter’s Rights

No lake life posts from me lately due to the weather. The forecast predicted temps to reach the 60’s this weekend, and we hoped to boat but there was a strong wind that kept us off the lake.

It didn’t affect these guys though. . .

Our neighbors, who we rarely see in the fall or winter, have lost their dock to squatter’s rights. . .

Squatter’s Rights or  Adverse Possession is a process by which premises can change ownership. It is a common law concept concerning the title to real property (land and the fixed structures built upon it).

By adverse possession, title to another’s real property can be acquired without compensation, by holding the property in a manner that conflicts with the true owner’s rights for a specified period.

I hope you enjoyed some mild weather this weekend where you are~

    Too funny!
They really do take over ownership before you can blink an eye!

Fun photos! I’ve also been noticing more seagulls than ever around here! I wonder why they are doing so well aftwert his cold and frozen winter?

This is a great series of shots. The birds have certainly taken over. I love the way they are all moving about. Their wingspans are impressive.

Sorry, but the weather everywhere this year has been for the birds.

These are great. I’m lucky if I get one or two birds in real action when I’m out. They’re just too fast for my camera. :-)

Having lived near the shore at some times in my life I have had the misfortune to experience the adverse possession of sea gulls. Not my favorite bird.

What a sight! You captured them well!

Yep, I guess the gulls got it :)

Your photos are great! Seagulls are sometimes not friendly to other birds. In my city (Istanbul), cormorants dive into the sea and come out with fish in their beaks. At the very same moment seagulls attack them and steal the fish!!

Have a nice day, ciao! :)
