In case missed it and you’re in need of a way of renewing a chalkboard without repainting, WD-40 is a quick and easy way to remove “ghosting” and restoring your chalkboard to its former and newly painted state!

Mary, you are always such a delightful inspiration! Thank you! I lived in Charlotte for 20 years and even though New England is where I grew up North Carolina and it’s gorgeous autumn foliage and beautiful spring awakenings will always fell like “home” to me.

My favorite Fall saying! Used it for my son’s wedding on rehearsal invitations. Such a beautiful backyard shed decor. You always do such a gorgeous job in styling. Love the little items of acorns and bird nests. Happy Fall!

Your garland looks fabulous draping your ladder full of garden treasures! Only you could stick a spoon in a spool of twine and make it look regal! I love studying all your photos and discovering elegant little details hidden about, sort of like the “where’s Waldo” books, there is always so much to see and find! Autumn is an exciting time of year, with the promise of so much to come, I love the quote~

Thanks so much for the WD-40 tip. I have an old child’s chalkboard that could use some renewing.

  19. September 26, 2013 at 11:37 am

I’m going to describe my feeling upon seeing your post, as soothed. I mean everything in your beautiful pictures was all that I love. Right down to the old gardening trowels and especially the painted doorknob, just a beautiful presentation. Enjoy Fall.

I can envision myself having tea in there. Honestly, I think your shed should be on the local tour. I love the whole chalkboard thing and was considering it for half a wall in my office.

You’re having waaay too much fun, playing out in your potting shed!
Wonderful colors & textures & lots of interesting implements, too.
I wish I had such a space to decorate to my ♥’s content.
The wooden acorns reminded me that I want to do a post on a special thimble/needle holder I won from Country Bumpkin. Thanks for jogging my senior memory.

  29. September 27, 2013 at 11:15 pm

Mary, your “falling” in the potting shed is delightful. It’s always a treat to peek inside your charming garden abode. I spotted a book on the ladder which I recently added to my own shelves. It’s wonderful, isn’t it?
Thanks for the WD 40 tip. Wish I had known about that when I was teaching. ‘-)
