Home is Where the Shed Is in Flea Market Gardens Magazine

My Potting Shed is in print in Flea Market Gardens Magazine! She’s part of Sheds Revamped in the spring 2015 issue available now through May 4th.

IMG_3042

I knew in December the publication was coming out sometime this spring, but I wasn’t sure exactly when it was hitting the newsstands until a blogging friend let me know she saw it. Thanks Jane :)

You can find my shed on page 126.

I have a copy of the magazine coming from Harris Publications but I went out to try to find it. I picked it up at Lowe’s among the specialty garden magazines, and since spied it at Michaels. It should also be available at Barnes and Noble if you’re looking for it.

IMG_3056

My photo shoot was April last year and I admit to having some reservations about it. I was quickly relieved to find myself in the very capable and talented hands of photographer Richard Leo Johnson. . .

and Sunday Hendrickson, stylist, aka, Divine Art Director at Large, who put me completely at ease.

photo (22)-001

They were initially interested in my Seed Catalog Wreath, for a do-it-yourself publication, so I had refurbished some of the paper cones in advance of the shoot.

So I was gobsmacked when what I thought what might be 1 or 2 pages ended up as 8 pages instead for a different publication.

IMG_3052

It still feels a little surreal that someone else would want to photograph or play in my wee shed besides me :)

Thanks also to Deb Wiley, writer and editor who wrote the article.

You have a gift that you graciously share with all that visit your site. You should have your own t.v. Show on the Create channel – it would be a smashing success. I enjoy all of your decorating ideas, wonderful recipes and the way they are elegantly served. Thank you so much as I enjoy all the wonderful creative ideas you share with all!

Mary, I think that at least half of blogland would be willing to wait in line to play in your wee shed. First in the line would be me, camped out for several days like fans of superstars, and someone would have to drag me out kicking and screaming when my turn ended! I just love your shed and enjoy all the fun you share with us when you redecorate and create! I must go and find this magazine. Congratulations! Linda

  38. February 23, 2015 at 12:49 pm

Darn! I was just at WalMart, and they usually have these magazines too, and I forgot to look today! I love your shed, and would jump at the chance to play, inside and out. I would want one very much like it if given the opportunity (someday) – hey, you wanna trade my hot tub for your shed? My tub seats 6-8, easily, lol. Congrats on the well-deserved publish, and I agree about Sunday Hendrickson, and trust your opinion on the others who worked on your project.

It is not just that you have a shed to play in…it is that you are such an artist and so inspiring with your design ideas which is why i love your site. I like garden design but do not have the gardening bug, I must hire people to help with that. But you have inspired me in many other ways and truly appreciate it.

  75. July 18, 2018 at 6:51 am

I don’t know how I never visited this post before. How exciting that must have been for you. It’s been fun seeing the shed develop over the years. Love that last shot with the gloves and flowers. Belated congratulations from one flower lover to another!!
