We’re expecting temperatures to drop back into the 20s after a week of warm spring weather. Too soon to plant outdoors, I’m enjoying the Bloom inside my Potting Shed with Spring on a Ladder!
“The Earth laughs in Flowers,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson is one on my favorite quotes so I chalked up some flowers.
Ball Jars are holding daffodils . . .
And flowering plum.
I filled my Ferry’s Seeds Box with an assortment of flowers, ivy, and fern for some early spring planting.
I lined the box with plastic to protect it and gave everything a healthy watering before adding it to the seed box. Empty plastic pots along with crumpled newspaper help elevate the plants and flowers. I left everything in their pots for easy assembly and removal, and filled in around them with some Spanish moss for camouflage and to add a little texture.
Pots of hyacinth, daffodils, and ranunculus can be removed and easily replaced after they’re finished blooming.
A bunny, bird nest, and garden tool add a little interest among the flowers and provide space fillers. Easter eggs add some additional seasonal color.
Daffodils always bring a smile to my face, how about you? :)

So swamped with grandbabies and everyday “stuff” that I haven’t even had time to think about Easter yet. You’ve inspired me to stop and smell the flowers. Today I’m going to buy lots and lots of grocery store flowers and fill my home with beauty. At least until I can get something planted outside. Thanks for always inspiring us ms Mary….some days you’re just the jump start I need!!!

Ahhhh, this just makes me sigh. It was warm here yesterday, for ONE day, and now we are back to 40. Tomorrow 30’s! I am planting indoors too with the plan to plant everything outside as soon as possible. That peachy daffodil is GORGEOUS!

Love your bright and cheery Potting Shed with the lovely flowers and decorations. Yesterday we had temperatures in the 70’s and it was sunny. Today it is rainy with temperatures in the 40’s tomorrow won’t be much better. Sorry to hear you will have temperatures in the 20’s. Enjoy your weekend.

Everything is so springy and pretty! I love living where I live and love our tropical plants and flowers but I do miss ‘Spring on the Mainland’…
We had old family friends who for many years had a ‘flower farm’ in the Stone Mountain area of GA – not commercial, but as a propagator of imported tulip and daffodil bulbs in spring…in the summer he concentrated on daylilies of all types and colors… Gorgeous place. My son and I spent a few months with them in the spring and early summer of 1960 and it was magical….

Mary, your seed box as filled looks so, so good. I have that same box with graphics intact, and love it. I have books stored in mine, afraid of damaging it, but the fact that it’s survived as long as it has, and the way you lined yours gives me a little push. Thanks for the inspiration.
