Beach-themed Table for Summer with Pfaltzgraff Montego

DSC_3185-001

Happy Memorial Day! To kick off the unofficial start to summer, I’m taking you to the beach via the table and Pfaltzgraff Montego Dinnerware!

Montego by Pfaltzgraff, is inspired by the palette of the seashore, from the blue of the ocean to the tan of the sand.

Shells, starfish, sand dollars and a nautical rope detail, rim the borders of the plates, bowls and mugs.

Square water hyacinth placemats with a fringed shell border washed ashore from World Market several years ago. . .

And my shell seeking uncovered ceramic shell napkin rings, paired with sunwashed striped napkins with knotted rope fringe.

A rope lantern serves as an easy centerpiece for the table, filled with sand, shells and a candle.

And a bag of crushed shells provides a mini shell reef for the centerpiece.

Pfaltzgraff Montego is crafted of stoneware with a reactive glaze. Like seashells, each piece of the Montego dinnerware collection is unique, with variations in color and pattern, due to the hand-crafted qualities and nature of the reactive glaze.

Beautiful! Pfaltzgraff has always been a favorite of mine. I used to live in Gettysburg, Pa. years ago and knew many people who worked in the factory in York. I own several patterns from 20-30 yrs. ago that includes Christmas pieces too. Each of my children has a set in their homes as well. Your display of this Montego pattern is calling my name as I reside in Rhode Island now. Wouldn’t this be the perfect set for “The Ocean State” if we had a state dish? Tempting to say the least. Your post is so beautifully photographed as always. Thank-you!

I love the Pfaltzgraff dishes, Mary, and your inspirational table setting in displaying them. The dishes would never go out of style and would be fun to use in the summer months, along with the sea shell trimmed placemats. Your rope lantern with the sand, crushed shells and pretty seashells makes for the perfect centerpiece. We’ve had rain, rain, and more rain! Happy Memorial Day and I hope you’ll be rain free and be able to get out on your boat!

Beach theme table settings always get my attention and, are a bit of a weakness for me to be honest. This one is just spectacular! Pfaltzgraff has really outdone themselves with these incredible dishes. Oh, I am coveting these to be sure. Lovely table in a lovely setting. Enjoy the holiday.

I always absolutely love your tablescapes! They never disappoint! Would it be possible to know where to look for a wicker patio set like yours? I LOVE it! Thanks for always inspiring us.

Thank you Monica! Our table and chairs are Pottery Barn’s Palmetto all-weather wicker. We’ve had them about four years and they’ve held up very well! They also happen to be on sale right now with an additional percentage off for Memorial Day :)

Mary, this Pfaltzgraff pattern is very pretty, but your exquisite styling and photos elevate it to a whole new level. Pfaltzgraff should buy your photos and use them for their sales brochures. The color pallet with the natural shells is very appealing to the eye, and of course your textile details are matched to perfection. Now if only I had a beach cottage!
    Happy Memorial Day!

Not sure if anyone else noticed or mentioned, but besides all of the photos being beautiful and the table another smash hit for you…the photo with the shell reflected on the spoon is outstanding! Brilliant!

Thank you for sharing your lovely sea and beach inspired tableware. What a lovely setting to have coffee or late supper by the lake. Hope your Memorial Day was a good one. Ours was to remember those who made a sacrifice for this country for our freedom.

Cute dinnerware pattern! I love that it’s a little stylized and subtle- so great with the rope and shell accessories. I was worrying about your holiday weekend, glad to hear you weren’t impacted too much. You’ve inspired me to get out my sea shells and play :) Happy week Mary!

Mary, you have so many beautiful things! How do you store everything? I get so much inspiration from your ideas, and with that comes some shopping. Any tips on how to keep organized?

  25. May 31, 2016 at 7:06 pm

    • May 31, 2016 at 8:06 pm

Thanks Pamela! I don’t keep all my sponsored dinnerware, there isn’t anywhere to store it all :)
