Autumn’s Delight Alfresco Table

DSC_0563.2

I’m delighting in autumn, my favorite season! We’re finally enjoying some cooler temperatures and crisp fall air, perfect for dining alfresco with lower humidity and highs in the 70s instead of 90s.

Autumn’s Delight by Johnson Brothers provided some fall nesting inspiration last week and table inspiration this week. . .

It’s brown and multi-colored fruit pattern evocative of harvest season!

A garden urn filled with leaves, pears, apples, pumpkins, and grapes, serves as an easy centerpiece for the table. . .

Casual and quick to assemble, it makes an economical centerpiece too, since it can be eaten later. ;)

Autumn has been late to arrive in North Carolina with our leaves mostly still green on the trees with pockets of color popping up along the shoreline.

Our Autumn Blaze Maple is always first to turn it’s reliable crimson color.

Bone-handled flatware and tree slice chargers add some rustic and warm texture to the table, while amber goblets add a warm, golden glow.

Absolutely love this autumn table setting. Your Johnson tableware is beautiful. I have a set of fall dishes from goodwill I bought years ago and every Sept when I bring them out they make me smile. They are a pale gold and great to layer with more busy patterns and amber glass. Enjoy the cooler days. Rain on the way but we need it.

Happy Monday, Mary! It is pouring rain this morning. I love this Tablescape…Johnson Brothers Autumn Delight is an all-time favorite pattern and you have styled this table perfectly for fall! Beautiful alfresco setting!

Love this Autumn tablescape! I have a set of Johnson Brothers “Friendly Village” tableware which I use quite often. Everything was so thoughtfully chosen for a delightful meal with friends & family! Happy Autumn to you, Mary.

A welcome rain and your post greeted me this morning! Love your table, the light on it, that centerpiece. Your autumn blaze is looking beautiful. Our color is coming around here in the city, but still so slow; however, I am delighting in each day that’s cool in the mornings, bright in the days, and glowing in sunlight in the evenings. Today’s rain is much needed, but it will fleeting.Have a great week.

Oh, so lovely, every single element. I have pinned twice, under “Centerpieces” and also “Harvest decorating”. Love all of it! I am so excited I now have 8 beautiful amber goblets found at a Salvation Army store, what a deal! Just purchased my first wooden charger and waiting for Target to get more in . Isn’t fall just so much fun! Thanks Mary :)

  16. October 23, 2017 at 11:21 am

Mary, your autumn delight delights my senses. I’ve been away for ten days and returned home to most of my autumn color bloomed out. I will be working in the beds this week for sure. I need a full time gardener! One that is not me!!!
You have me yearning to set an autumn table. It’s truly my favorite time of year. Thanks for the inspiration. It’s a pleasant 52 degrees here this morning with bright sunshine. My husband said we had a nice rain Saturday, so things are happy, just not blooming as when I left. Enjoy your pretty weather.

  17. October 23, 2017 at 11:26 am

The Autumn Delight plates are so pretty, and all the elements you’ve combined compliment them so well. The double napkins in the beautiful wood leaf ring are such a nice rustic touch. The setting with the Autumn Blaze Maple in sight is so stunning! We are supposed to finally cool off on the coast this week and I’m looking forward to seeing some fall color when I head north in a few days 🍁

The Johnson Brothers transfer wear, well simply beautiful. I love all things Johnson Brothers and transferware!!! The tree slice chargers are splendid with the Autumn’s Delight!!! And the Towle Seville!!! It is going to be my next flatware purchase!!! I could just do some deep chair sitting and take in the magical beauty of the leaf transformation of that magnificent Maple and that very Delightful Alfresco table!!! Lovely!!!

Hi Mary! I enjoy all of you, puppies, the boat, pics of your husband…all of it. Great ideas. I have even used so many of your ideas. I do not know how to contact you so hear goes. I have a very large collection of English Scenery-light brown-multicolor by Woods & Sons. I thought I would just ask you if you might be interested in more information or not and any ideas where I could show this pattern. I live in San Diego, CA? Thank you so much!!!!! Marti Boyer

What a perfect view from your dining “room” table.

  32. October 23, 2017 at 10:35 pm

This certainly IS an Autumn Delight! I absolutely love how you decorate your stone wall each year! It is so beautiful. How do you keep your pumpkins etc. from rotting? I had to throw away several of mine already:( And my mums are looking very sad, it has been too hot, I think. This year has not been a good Fall for my decorations. LOVE the table and the centerpiece! The best part of course is the setting/view!!! I am late cause today is Joe’s birthday so we had a nice day together:)

  33. October 25, 2017 at 12:38 pm

Gorgeous! Your centerpiece is just dripping with autumn goodness!! Love that setting by the lake with the plaid tablecloth and all the pumpkins and gourds of various sizes and textures – its beautiful. I just posted another Halloween table with the plates you sent me!! Thank you again!!

Just getting to your beautiful autumn tablescape which is so inspiring. Love your picture of the blazing maple tree. Some of the trees here in central Virginia are finally getting some color.
