Happy Friday! Are you in need of some flower therapy? If so, you’re in luck, as my Floral Friday friends and I are gathering together to send some floral inspiration your way. You’ll find my blogging friends’ links to their floral creations at the bottom of this post.
It’s been a very wet, cold and dreary week here in North Carolina, so I’m happy to have my some flower therapy from my blogging friends this morning! Our common theme this week was individual or mini arrangements in a tablesetting.
With Thanksgiving next week, I pulled out my mini turkey tureens to create blooming turkeys as mini arrangements for the table.
I used a favorite method, chicken wire, which makes for quick and easy flower arranging to support the stems, and best of all, is reusable. You can find chicken wire at the garden center or craft store (in smaller rolls) and it’s easily cut to the size you need with pliers. You’ll want to cut your chicken wire slightly larger than your opening of your container, with enough wire to bend inside your container so it stays in place.
Save and use the floral preservative packets that come with the flowers you purchase at the grocery store. If you don’t have any floral preservative, you can make your own with this easy formula to help prolong the life of your flower arrangement.
I cut a hydrangea bloom apart to use the smaller pieces and add pop of blue to the turkey tureens. Cutting apart your flowers is a great way to get more flower bang for your buck from a single stem, especially if you’re creating smaller arrangements.
In addition to hydrangea, I added a mum, along with some foliage from the shrubs, a sprig of bittersweet vine, a maple leaf, and the last of the roses from my Hydrangea, Rose and Pumpkin Harvest.
Fresco Turkey salad plates, found at Pottery Barn several years ago, are served up on an assortment of colorful embossed leaf plates.
And an embroidered leaf runner is layered over farmhouse plaid tablecloth for a colorful foundation to the table.
A proud Tom Turkey provides a centerpiece for the table. . .
And foil wrapped chocolate turkeys were strutting their stuff at World Market, and added to each placesetting as a sweet treat.

Thank you for sharing step by step in creating so much beauty. Thank you for keeping your blog w autumnal theme. Too many have been featuring Christmas for weeks.
Mary, All the color on your table is such a welcome sight after a week of rainy weather. I love the pop of colors the leaf plates provide and how they all magically go with your turkey salad plates. Your blooming turkey tureens are beautiful and Mr. Tom makes a gorgeous centerpiece. I’m going to be on the look out for one for my sideboard next year. Happy Thanksgiving!
What a pretty table Mary…you always inspire the reader which is what these tablescapes are all about, aren’t they? There is something for every one, whether just browsing or looking for new ideas or recipes for their own personal tables. That is why we do what we do, each and every week!! The variety of turkeys on your table are a prelude to the big turkey day next week…when the real deal will be ready to carve, eat and enjoy with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving Mary.
Dear Mary, there is so much inspiration to glean from you gorgeous table. The mini turkey tureens are the perfect vessel to hold your gorgeous floral arrangements and your tutorials are always so easy to follow. The very proud Tom turkey strutting his stuff is the ideal centerpiece. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and I love sharing Floral Fridays with you!
Wow, Mary, you knocked it out of the ballpark again! I love your entire table. Those little turkey tureens are darling and your selection of flowers looked fabulous.
I chuckled hearing about the foil-wrapped turkey candy. I am sure they love you at World Market! You find the cutest things there.
I also chuckled at” the end” pic.
Mary, you are such an inspiration and creative genius. I can not tell you how many of your lovely tablescape ideas have inspired me to recreate on my own table. Also, many of the books you have mentioned have also been purchased and now sit on my own bookshelves. My favorites among the books you suggested are the Jana Kolpen series, The Secrets of Pistoulet. When I can find these books, usually on Amazon, I like to send to special friends. Pfaltzgraff dinnerware has a pattern called The Circle of Love. I purchased eight of the small plates showing several of the characters from the book series.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving,
M Thomas
Amazing Mary!!! Love your mini turkey tureens full of flowers. Your creativity just shines in today’s post. Makes me wish I was serving Thanksgiving this year so I could steal some of your ideas. Thrilled with the serving pieces which arrived yesterday. I have put them in a beautiful bag with other goodies for our young friends and plan to delivery it tomorrow. Thank you so very much for giving your readers the opportunity to win your terrific giveaways. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. 🦃🍁
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Love your flower arrangements & dishes. Have a lovely holiday with your family and friends. I will have family together except for youngest & of course will think of ones that are gone and missed.
Stunning!!! Your table is beautiful and the flowers make it shine.
Mary, what a wonderful table, filled with everything lovely to celebrate our “we are thankful” holiday! The mini turkey tureens are the perfect floral additions to your table, I am sure that everyone gathered there will feel cherished and loved. It is always so great to participate in Floral Fridays with you! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. xo Lidy
Mary, I love the idea of individual flower arrangements at each place setting. The mini turkey tureens are a perfect container. Our plans for this year are low key and simple, and as of today may be canceled. My chef has been feeling under the weather. It will likely just be the two of us, so I think a little floral arrangement is in order. Love the idea of using the chicken wired within. Perfect solution!
Gobble, Gobble to you, sweet friend!
Love the mini’s at each place setting. Beautiful as always! “The end” cracked me up and I laughed out loud! Too cute. Thanks Mary! 🦃
What a lovely post. Beautiful flowers.
Joan

Marion
I love Floral Friday and look forward to Monday morning blooms. Refreshingly beautiful always!
Gorgeous! Happy Thanksgiving Mary!
Your blooming turkey tureens are so sweet Mary, and I love how you incorporated pops of blue throughout your table. I didn’t know you could divide a hydrangea bloom, how clever is that, not to mention practical as some of the grocery store blooms are so huge! I’ve got to remember to get some chicken wire, I usually just keep stuffing stems in until the arrangement stays in place :) I love the fall leaves in the arrangement and the different colored dinner plates under the cute turkeys, AND the bonus chocolate turkey treat!! We had a gloomy wet week too, but now enjoying a perfect fall weekend!
Jenna
Thank you for sharing your beautiful table ..just what I needed to rest my eyes on as I head in to cooking our community wide free thanksgiving dinner at our restaurant .When your blessed you bless and your designs are definitely a blessing!
Hi Mary…we had a dreary week here too but….busy getting ready for Thanksgiving kept my mind off the lack of sun..all the colors on your table are a cure for sunless days…that beautiful Turkey tureen has his eye on everyone..that close up of him revealed that eye to me!! I just love that Turkey!! Thanks for sharing!! 👍🏻❤️🦃
As usual, a beautiful tablescape with lovely arrangements. I was interested to see the chocolate turkey at each place setting. I have been using chocolate turkeys, bunnies, and reindeer on my kids’ table for years. It’s always a big hit!
