We’re dipping down below freezing this week for the first time this fall

and it’s shaping up to be a beauti-fall week and sweater weather!

Lake Norman Weather week of November 15th

Cool air and warm water temperatures collide to create steam fog in the early mornings. . .

It can look a little mysterious and magical until it warms up mid-morning.

Beautiful! There is nothing quite like enjoying Mother Nature’s handiwork. Yesterday we drove from our home near Richmond to Philadelphia PA and while my sweet hubby watched the road I saw lots of beautiful leaves..yes even along parts of 95! We must all pause and enjoy the beauty around us. Thanks for your gorgeous pictures.

Beautiful Mary! I love to see the steam/fog rising on the water in early morning…I know you are thrilled that sweater weather has arrived! Our leaves are at their peak right now, it’s just beautiful and we were under a freeze warning last night…my slow cooker is going to be cooking a pot of chili tonight!

We often get fog on the lake in the early morning, too, here in Northeast Tennessee. I absolutely love it. It seems to occur often when we have an unseasonably warm day and then the following morning, there’s the fog. Also, have you found that on the gloomiest days, the fall colors seem to look the most vibrant? Your view is heavenly.

I forgot to ask – where did you get your adorable adirondack chairs? I love them. Thank you.

Hi Lisa, We’ve had them 20 years. They’re by Uwharrie Chair Co. :)

Serene and magical! Mary, I’ve long admired your lakeside lifestyle, and these photos reinforce those feelings. I’m surprised you are already dipping into the upper 20s, but perhaps that is normal for you. We are enjoying mild weather with sweater weather mornings and evenings. It’s delightful. Thanks for sharing this beauty. Enjoy!

Looking at those pictures is a balm for a tired soul. I love the steam fog rising over the water, and yes, it does look magical! All my fall clean up is done, hoses and statues are nestled in the shed, wood brought in, outside taps shut off and now I can collapse, lol! Just in time too, as we had snow flurries tonight, my deck has a thin frosty covering. So now it begins, the long cold winter for Michiganders. Glad you can still enjoy the colorful trees, mine are finally empty. Thank you for the feast for the eyes. ♥️🍊🍂

I’ve always enjoyed the mystical beauty of fog on water. How lucky you are to have such an enchanting view right outside your back door. This certainly must be the most beautiful season of lake life, with the fall foliage in all its glory. Looks like you are having perfect weather, enjoy!

Yes, we have had some beautiful Fall…but the older I get (76 now), the faster the summer goes…seems like after Christmas, all I do is wish for Spring/Summer…I don’t wish for Fall or Winter!! Seems like I spend a lot of time wishing nowadays…when I was a child, I can remember wishing then too…wishing for school to be out; wishing for Santa/Christmas; wishing for my birthday; and, wishing for sunny days so I could play outside! Now I wish for different things!! Enjoy your Fall week…we had snow today…I didn’t WISH fir that!! 👎🏻
