If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I love flowers that pull double duty. . . beautiful now and plantable later. 🌸

This easy Easter centerpiece uses potted spring bulbs from the garden center — think hyacinths, tulips, and / or daffodils — to create a lush, living arrangement that can be enjoyed indoors and then planted outdoors for blooms next spring.

🌼 Why Use Potted Spring Bulbs for an Easter Centerpiece?

Potted bulbs are one of my favorite seasonal shortcuts.

You’ll find them at garden centers, grocery stores, and even big box stores in the weeks leading up to Easter. Look for:

  • Hyacinths

  • Tulips

  • Daffodils

  • Mini azaleas

  • Easter lilies

They’re often less expensive than cut flowers, and when the blooms fade, you can plant the bulbs in your garden for future springs — a little gift that keeps on giving.

🪻 How to Create an Easy Spring Blooming Bowl Arrangement

This centerpiece couldn’t be simpler!

1️⃣ Choose Your Container

Use a bowl, basket, or favorite serving piece.

I used a favorite fluted ceramic bowl from Pier 1 that I’ve had for years. The wide opening makes it perfect for grouping multiple plants together.

2️⃣ Prep Your Bulbs

Before arranging:

  • Water your potted bulbs thoroughly.

  • Remove excess wrapping.

  • If needed, gently divide clustered bulbs.

  • Shake off excess soil.

  • If space allows, you can leave bulbs in their original pots.

  • If you’d like a fuller look, remove them from their pots and place the root balls in plastic bags to tuck them closer together.

This allows you to “plant” more blooms into your bowl for a lush, abundant effect.

3️⃣ Arrange & Nestle

Place your bulbs snugly into the container, varying heights and bloom colors for a natural look.

Once positioned:

  • Top with colorful paper shred or Easter basket “grass”

  • Tuck decorative eggs throughout

  • Add a chocolate bunny for a sweet surprise

I found my chocolate bunnies at Dollar Tree for an affordable addition.

The paper shred creates a colorful “nest” effect and neatly conceals bags of bulbs or pots and soil.

Add fresh spring color to your Easter table with a blooming bulb centerpiece. This easy arrangement uses potted flowers from the garden center and makes a cheerful focal point for a spring or Easter table. The bulbs can be planted outdoors after the holiday. #EasterTablescape #SpringCenterpiece #FreshFlowersDecor #EasterDecorating #DIYCenterpiece ©homeiswheretheboatis.net

🌸 Tips for Success

  • Choose bulbs that are just beginning to bloom for longer enjoyment.

  • Keep your centerpiece in bright indirect light.

  • Rotate the bowl daily so stems grow evenly.

  • Mist with a spray bottle of water to help help bulbs stay moist and release their fragrance.

After Easter, allow the foliage to remain until it yellows naturally before planting bulbs outdoors.

💐 A Centerpiece That Lasts Beyond Easter

One of the things I love most about this arrangement is that it doesn’t feel temporary. There’s something about real blooming bulbs on the table — their scent, their color, their promise of warmer days that just feels like spring has officially arrived.

When the table is cleared and the chocolate bunnies are gone, you’ll still have living plants that can head outdoors to bloom again next spring. It’s a simple, sustainable, and budget-friendly way to celebrate the season.

Good morning Mary. Your beautiful spring bulbs that pull double duty make the perfect centerpiece for an Easter table! The paper shred is a fun addition and of course I would never turn down a chocolate bunny. I don’t remember ever seeing the charming Easter bunny beaded table runner. How cute are the WS floral meadow salad plates with their bunnies, butterflies, and flowers. Hopefully the real bunnies will not come out to nibble on your garden flowers this spring. The bunny goblets add a lovely shade of blue to your Easter table.

It is always a pleasure to share blooms with you! Wishing you a delightful week🩷🐰🪻

Oh, Mary, how very pretty, …so fresh and colorful! A must try!
I also remember copying your version of spring bulbs / arrangement in a large basket, tucking in carrots, small cabbages or even asparagus. I was so pleased with how it turned out! I also copied the “vase within the vase” with jelly beans and yellow marshmallow chicks between the walls of the vases. Both are favorites and I was so pleased with the results!
Thank you for yet another beautiful Easter arrangement idea – now I have an Easter floral trilogy to choose from!

This is so fun, Mary! I love buying planted bulbs to create surprises in the garden for the following year. In fact, I have to go back and look at photos to know where I planted them. I did a lot of rearranging last year, as well as adding planted bulbs. Your tabletop is adorable. That beaded bunny runner is the best, and matches up against your salads and glassware so well. It makes me so happy to know spring is coming, and seeing your table in full bloom is exciting. Happy MMB!

For about 6 months now I have not been able to see most of your windows….I see a few and then the rest are just a brown blank. My computer has been updated so I will be calling Apple if needed. However I was wondering if there is a glitch on your end? I so miss your posts. Have you had this happen before?

    • March 2, 2026 at 12:02 pm

Hi Linda, I’m so sorry you’re having trouble! It sounds like a browser incompatibility issue. You mentioned Apple so I’m assuming you’re visiting from a Mac and using Safari as your browser? Can you try visiting using a different browser on your Mac like Google Chrome? I check my blog on my iPhone/iPad (Safari) and on my laptop using Google Chrome and don’t have any problems with the photos loading. I’ll send you an email with troubleshooting steps I found when visiting from a Mac.

Good Morning Mary. What a lovely Spring Bouquet you have made. I love using Spring bulbs in the home especially hyacinths as their fragrance is such a sweet delight.

  14. March 2, 2026 at 10:45 am

Mary, what a sweet centerpiece! The bulbs look like everything everybunny would think of when they are dreaming of spring. Planted in your ruffled bow with your Easter shred and a speckled bunny, they are delightful! The table setting is so pretty, love the tablecloth, your rabbit runner and adorable plates.

I’m going to copy your centerpiece for our Easter brunch ( and hope my little people don’t secret nibble the ears off the bunny)…Happy March – and happy Monday Morning Blooms.🌷🐇🌷
